Pizza experience was ok, deep dish style is similar to what you will see in Chicago, however the pizza tasted like something you could buy out of the frozen food isle like Digourno. Customer service: Upon walking in there are two entrances, neither which state to seat ones self. It was my first time so understandably I was unsure of what to do, I approach a man with a grey beard (no beard net on in food prep area) and no name tag (of course). He is on the phone taking an order from a customer which is understandable I could wait, however he proceeded to bark an order at a customer to go to the other line in a tone that suggested to not bother me, he assumed we were both at his line for pick up and to order, grey beard also assumed myself and this other male customer were together, we were not thus grey beard appeared more annoyed I stuck around and waited. I had a party of 8 and noticed the tables were dirty in the only area where there was room I asked if the table could be cleaned. Grey bread looked at me as if I were asking him personally to do the task, which I was not. Not more than a few words were said that I got the sense that he was pissed off by my request as he walked off quickly while huffing. I found out that my husband had ordered the wrong pizza (a thin crust at an establishment that advertises deep dish which I love) so I proceed to the other window and wait behind a long line of people patiently. I proceeded to tell an employee which of course did not have a nametag either (noticing a trend) and politely stated my request to modify the order. The employee proceeds to tell me that my pizza is in the oven all ready, I tell him then that I do not want it, as my asking to modify the order didnt seem to give a hint that I did not want the pizza as it was. He runs off and gets a manager (I did not ask for a manager) and the manager, lets call him red beard asks me: "Do you expect the restaurant to swallow the charge?" I did not understand what he meant by this, clearly he did not have a through understanding of business if he thinks one pizza is truly a loss to a "thriving business". I told him of course I expect you to modify the order its what any restaurant would do. He proceeds to state that he has never worked at such an establishment. I find that hard to believe. Red beard wanted me to pay for a pizza that I did not want on top of the new order and just be fine with that, my husband ended up getting my refund...never again, if you frequent the place I am happy you have never experienced this service however it was not right for anyone to be treated as I was. I am a paying customer not a visitor at a private residence where such behavior of rejecting food would be unacceptable. Please do no eat here.

i remember when there was a conans pizza here. so delicious and so easy on the wallet. the exploitation conan the barbarian artwork alone made it a great treat. but it is no longer.. except here on google maps, where it was probably trolled out of some ancient database that they paid too much money for since in this world of 2009 it has been gone for over half a decade. some say that if u walk into kerbey lane on stormy afternoon around lunch that u can still smell the whole wheat crust and garlic baking in the ghost ovens.. or maybe thats b/c its just a few blocks from the 29th st location which is still open. whatever. why google maps? why!?!

I love Conans pizza! This is one of the few places you can get an awesomely crisp salad with real ranch or bleu cheese dressing and with shredded mozzarella piled on top. Theres always a great variety of deep dish slices to choose from at lunch. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. Their high-back booths are great for a person eating by themselves to be uninterrupted. They also have large tables and separate rooms to cater to any sized group. Get the perfect mix of grunge in a welcoming and friendly pizza joint! The thin cheese bread with a side of ranch will change your life!

This University area pizza place has been here forever. The decor is old with funny Conan comics on the tables. The must have is the deep dish pizza. Dont let the college kids scare you way from tasting this delicious pizza. The Savage deep dish is a must have. The chicken pesto on thin crust is also yummy. Pass of the Bacon Cheddar Burger and BBQ pizzas. They are drowning in sauce, but not in a good way.

The Conans pizza at 29th and Guadalupe is one reason I want to stay in Austin for a long time. The deep-dish whole-wheat Savage is a fantastic pie, and I can also recommend the veggie supreme. Decor is awesome, every surface seems to be covered in Frank Frazetta paintings, comic books, or interesting postcards from around the globe. Employees here are cool. Avoid the salads, they are terrible.

If you like fresh, non-greasy pizza with white (or wheat!) pizza crust and fresh sauce in a Chicago style, youll love Conans. Their thin crust is really good too. Their whole wheat crust is the best Ive had. And they dont charge astronomical prices for all this either. If I want New York style pizza, I go to South Congress to Home Slice Pizza, but for Chicago style pizza, Conans is the best.

I had a great experience with Conans pizza. My wife and I ordered a vegan thin crust wheat veggie pizza not knowing the thin crust was not vegan. So they made a deep dish crust which is vegan and delivered it to us. Quickly I might add. My wife is vegan so it all worked out for the best. And the best part. The pizza was amazing. Place is rad Go there!!!!! Do it!!!!!

Love this place. My most recent visit here was to meet my brother here to eat pizza, he lives about an hour away in Florence, and I live an hour away in converse, we drove an hour to eat pizza. That should tell you something. Great Chicago style pizza, highly recommended and worth the drive!

After ordering from Conans and being a loyal customer for the past 5 years, they have suddenly refused to cut the pizza into squares. I told them they were ridiculous and that they wouldnt be receiving any further business. Nothing but lazy, apathetic people working there......

First meal in Austin from out of town and ordered my own vegan pizza and a friend had another non-vegan one. Both were super duper delicious, the crust is so flaky and they cook your pizzas on however youd like them. Would come back again if we were in town again.

If you want to try a deep dish style pizza, this is definitely the place to try it! When you first walk in, youll notice all the graphic art and such on the walls and the tables. Just something to enjoy while youre waiting for your pizza to get fixed up :-)

Best pizza in town. I know, you forgot about it with all the new pizza places that have spring up, but this is seriously great. I usually like thin crust over deep dish, but Conans just does everything right. Great sauce, awesome wheat crust. Perfection.
