5 stars on a first visit? BOOM. Lets break it down: FOOD: Im usually pretty weary of going out for pizza. Its usually super greasy, I have to use 5 napkins to soak up the grease, and leave feeling super gross. I did not have that experience with this pizza. *high five!* I usually can only consume 1 or 2 slices in one sitting...nope, before I knew it, 1/2 the pizza had been consumed by yours truly! We had the #7 - nice thin crust pizza. ATMOSPHERE: Although Im only a few years out of college, I felt pretty old there. But again, what do you expect? Were at a pizza places adjacent to a college campus! Also, if you enjoy hipster watching, this is a great location. VENUE: Pretty neat setup of a pizza place in an old house. The only part I didnt like was the hipster girl sitting right outside of our window smoking. The window sealing, I learned quickly, is well...non-existent. And you know, as a non-smoker, thats pretty gross. PARKING: Was a bit challenging, but we eventually found a spot! OH yes, and if you like neat-looking light fixtures, this is a great place to check out.

This place specializes in Napoleta pizzas, which are basically thin crust pizzas. I refer to them as "frou frou pizzas", similar to the varieties found in California specialty pizzerias (like California Pizza Kitchen), except better! The reason: not only is this a local place but they endorse and use locally produced products, including their herbs, veggies, and even their (tap) beer. Plus the dough and sauces they use are made fresh daily; the proof is in the taste. My favorite pies include: #2 - Asparagus, bacon and jalapeno (now whats not to love about this combination?!); #3 - Artichoke hearts, sundried tomatoes and eggplant (and Im not even a vegetarian); #5 - White pie, chicken, garlic, proscuitto and dried sage (de-lish!). Add a pitcher or two of Live Oak ($15 each, 4 varieties), sit out on the front-facing deck when the weather cooperates, and your experience will be complete.

This review is for the horrible customer service, as we did not even get to eat. Walked in to an empty dining area, helped ourselves to menus, sat & waited for someone to take our order. When that did not happen, we placed our order with the cashier and sat back down. In the mean time 2 other tables sat down, a very pleasant waitress took their orders. 1 table was served their appetizer & salad. About 10 minutes after that, the cashier approaches us, he could not locate our ticket. No apologies, no amends attemped. I told him he could have at least said he messed up or lost the order. He instead told me to F**k Off. So needless to say, will not be going back there.

went for dinner one evening. after waiting over an hour for our order, (and seeing numerous pizzas going out the door as well as to other tables) we inquired as to the whereabouts of our order. the wait person looked completely perplexed at the question and mumbled something about checking on it. he came back stating the kitchen had been backed up. i mentioned that they seemed to be functioning pretty well considering the numerous other pizzas leaving the kitchen. we were told it would be another 20 minutes for our order. we paid for our beers (never was an offer to comp them ever made) and left. never going back...doesnt matter how good their pizza may be.

You would think that a place that specializes in thin crust pizzas would know how to properly cook them. When our pizza came out the bottom was completely burned. I really tried to enjoy the pizza, because it looked so good... until you turned it over and saw how burned the crust was. All I could taste was burnt pizza crust. Our hostess/server didnt seem very thrilled to serve us either. I am giving this place three stars however because I did enjoy our meatball marinara appetizer. Im not one to give up on a place so easy, so Ill try it again... especially since so many other people seem to have such a good experience.

This happened saturday the 16 at 9:20 pm. I was really looking foward on trying this pizza place but it was awful. The worst pizza ever. To start my pizza was burn and the only flavor that I could taste was tomatoes, low on cheese and dough. And because we are Latino they treated us with no respect. I saw other orders that came out after mine and their pizza was perfect. Sorry to see that racism still exist. Us the Latinos deserve the same respect as the people such called "light skinned". Instead of calling the place "Salvation Pizza" the right name is "Deception Pizza". Sorry but truth. The place sucks!

Even though I am not a pizza person (yes such people do exist), I loved Salvation Pizzas! Their pizzas have a nice crust which is not too doughy, and they are generous with their toppings I have tried a couple of them by now, and have both eaten in the restaurant, as well as done a takeway. The service is friendly and welcoming. They have a garlic base white pizza with artichokes, chicken and something else, I absolutely love that one. There is also a spicy one which is loaded with meat and jalapenos which is quite delicious as well. One of the best pizzas in Austin!

Rang them thirty minutes before they closed on a weeknight. I was from out of town, went the wrong direction, and ended up getting there thirty minutes then after they closed. Not only did they stick around, but were totally down to earth, friendly people, all for a small pizza. I was having a rough night at that point and they added a little extra take away. Its tough catching people still pleasent at the end of work when everythings being shut down. Everybody hanging out were super awesome. And of course, the pizzas were clutch. Will visit again.

This is pizza done right; thin crispy slightly-charred crust, courtesy of the wood fired oven, fresh ingredients and sauce. This is by far the closest thing to real Italian pizza youre gonna find in Austin. Do expect a wait, though, about 30 minutes or longer if its busy. Usually thats a sign that its made fresh, and the ovens do take longer to cook vs electric ones. Try the garlic bread and sauce, its phenomenal. If you think you know pizza, go here, itll blow away all the other competition Austin has to offer.

One of my top pizza joints to visit in Austin! Their pizza sauce has a very fresh tomato taste and their crust is baked to a perfect crisp. You can taste the quality in their food and you wont get an overly greasy pizza. I cant get enough of the pepperoni mushroom. I like visiting during lunch and taking the rest of my pizza for dinner! Their service is great, the staff is very friendly at Salvation! Cozy atmosphere with lots of space. You could have a cute date here or just grab a quick beer and a slice!

I love a good pizza and this place consistently delivers good pizza. I like a crust that is not super thin and so this crust was bordering on a little too thin, but the assortment and variety of topping easily made up for personal preference differences on crust type. I love Salvations use of asparagus on a pizza! The thin asparagus adds a nice crisp crunch to the pie that is missing in so many others. Try this place out, the food is great and the deck out front is super comfy when the weather is right.
