Im giving this restaurant one star only because of the prices. The food was really good, and the atmosphere is charming. However, the only ordering option is family style and the prices are astronomical in relation to portion. A small antipasto salad that serves 2-3 people (really?) was $17!!! OMGoodness! It had a small amount of quartered pepperoni slices, two banana peppers, four olives, a bit of onion, tomato, and cucumber (a VERY little bit), and rest was lettuce and cheese. (Yes, I actually counted toppings because the price was so high.) It was a delicious salad, but there are no refills and certainly not worth the cost. Then we ordered a small "create your own pasta". Delicious! The products they use are truly top quality. Again, however, was the price. Everything is ala carte, so even our daughters kids meal was just a little cheese pizza for $5 and $2 extra for a tiny root beer. Even our two unsweet iced teas cost almost $7!!! Ridiculously expensive here. Perhapsweve been spoiled by Olive Garden, which is just as good for way more food, better choices, and better prices. The food and atmosphere here is five stars, but for most folks Id say the prices are prohibitably expensive. We will not be returning. Im still trying to get over paying $70 (including tip) for a small lunch for two adults, one child, and no alcohol.

I have never taken the time to write any one or any company a bad review...because I usually just do not have the time and just figure I will not use the company again.... well, Buca and everyone else out there needs to hear this! HORRIBLE service!! I went on the Buca website and ordered a very expensive order. I paid for it online and had a time for pick-up. When the time came, I called ahead to make sure they had curbside delivery. The person answering the phone did not know what curbside delivery was, so I explained it to him. After he asked someone else working, and confirmed that they did, I gave him my make and model and license plate number and asked if he could run it out in 5 minutes (when I would be there). He said he would. When I pulled in, no one came, I waited and waited. Frustrated, I went in, and no one was up front (5:15 on a Sunday afternoon). I flagged someone down, they then had to ask someone else where the food orders were. They told me to go to the bar. I then had to wait another 5 minutes. REALLY frustrated by now, the 2 guys at the bar said that they needed to find my order. I told them that I had called ahead, had already waited 10 minutes, and needed to hurry. Not only taking his time, he then stated 3 times, "maam, have a good night!", being a jerk. I WILL NEVER GO TO THIS BUCA AGAIN!

Its sad though how Haters will always post bad ratings and all the people who have great service dont say anything, so Ill say my experiences. Loooove this place. My Family has been going for years and we have always had good service, good food, and good funny, Italian, atmosphere (although a bit inappropriate but who cares?). We particularly love going as a huge group, and Buca always manages to sit us quickly and nicely. We also rarely make any reservations, so Buca attends us well. Food can be pricey, but its great for big groups. Also, if our service was ever a bit slow, we didnt notice since wed entertain ourselves with the decorations. I reccommend the Frutte di Mari Linguini (if you like seafood, and also, I hope thats how you spell it).

If you planning to order and pick up. Do NOT order from Clint. Just ask to speak to the manager. He has a very smart mouth. He is not a friendly person. I think he probably has the worst customer service skills i have ever seen. The first time I ordered there he gave me my food and did not say "have a great day." I thought maybe he was having a off day. I order there again a couple weeks later and Clint forgot part of my order. I returned the next day to get my order and Clint did not even apologize for missing my order the other day. Today I came in and picked up my order and left as I was walking away Clint yelled "YOUR WELCOME!" 3rd time is a charm. I gave the rest of my gift card to my friend. I WILL NOT be back.

What a fun little place. Sure, its a chain, but they do a great job making you feel as if you are in Brooklyn. The whole joint has a kitschy atmosphere what with the myriad wall decorations of homey Italian immigrant scenes. There is even a special table you can reserve in the kitchen if you want to watch all the delicious activity. We had the spicy arrabiatta pizza and it was so good. We loved the gorgonzola. The service was fantastic throughout the evening; we couldnt ask for a better server than Cameron. The tables all had diners tucking into huge, steaming bowls of pasta, laughing and enjoying their time together. Again, what fun!

Ill start on a high note. They give generous portions for sure. Its designed for sharing. Large servings on a big place that everyone shares. Problem is that the food is just okay. Nothing special. It is certainly good, but not great. The lasagna had a good amount of meat and the flavor was good. Not great. One real downside is the bread! OMG, it looked, tasted and felt like a something from the freezer section of a convenience store that had been there for years. Bland, spongy and tasteless, even with the oil and vinegar dipping plate. Price for the portion size is appropriate. Just dont be expecting really good Italian food.

Hmmmm...Some things have changed a bit. The service was great as always! The meatballs and other dishes are great still. The lasagna was horrible. There was no meat inside. Tiny minuscule pieces of sausage perhaps. Angel hair pasta (Capellini / Vermicelli etc) needs to be added to the menu for basic meat sauce and meatballs. Its quicker to cook and much nicer feel on fork and easier to twirl! Desserts are DIVINE! Over all...A- rating. I think Demi Moore Bruce and Stallone gang made some changes to sauces to speed things up....but now chicken doesnt get to set in the Marsala sauce...what a sin!

Ive been a few times all with family. There was 10 adults, and 6 kids the last time I went. We were seated in the "Pope" room. Huge round table with a lazy Susan in the middle, decorated with things from the Vatican, and a wax sculpture of a Pope. Service was on point, we got everything on time, and the food was good. Only reason Im not giving it a 5 star rating is because as good as it was, its still a chain restaurant. Ill return in the future regardless.

Same experience as before: rude host and hostess, but awesome manager and waitresses! Food was terrific. We had a 7pm reservation, but we werent seated until about 7:45. We were told they were under-staffed. Deadpan host and hostess didnt offer too much sympathy...but the manager apologized and offered free mozzarella bread. Two waitresses for our large party were kind and attentive. Happy to come back if we can get past the guards at the front door!
