Came back home to visit from California for a couple of days. The place looked great so a group of us went there for Sunday brunch. I was very disappointed. The prime rib and potatoes were cold. The chef was chatting with another customer whom he seemed to know, so I stood there with my plate in my hand for a few minutes. There were no specialty coffees, only a watered down version of some generic roast. Their version of a mimosa was orange juice on ice with only a slight hint of champaigne served in, of all things, a red wine glass. I asked for one without ice and the waiter brought me back one filled to the rim with OJ and once again, no taste of champagne. I explained a mimosa to him and he just smiled and said and extra "shot" would cost an extra dollar. I tried one more time but still nothing more than a large glass of orange juice. The biscuit was good, however. The concept is good. The execution is terrible.

"Build your own Bloody Mary" for $12. Wow! Its Sunday Brunch & I wanted a bloody mary but the waiter tells me "you can make your own at our build your own bar". Theres only 1 bartender working instead of 2 like before. So instead, theyve crowd sourced making one, which might be okay, but nothing was labeled - not the 2 mixes nor the array of spices. Ive been coming here occasionally since it opened, but the buffet is the same thing every week: not-lean prime rib, undercooked bacon, good smoke salmon, & fresh fruit. Plates were downsized since my last visit. Obviously, another example of a private equity firm taking a company (same as OCharlies) and "improving" it by micromanaging the experience. For the price, they just cant seem to get it right.

We have been patrons since the beginning in Minnesota. After moving to Franklin, we were so happy to learn that there was going to be a Granite City here. At first it was wonderful, but slowly the menu began to change and some healthy favorites were taken off such as the Greek/Mediterranean salad, and most recently we discovered, their famous chopped salad is gone too. The Asian Chicken Salad was bad. It had so much dressing it was like a coleslaw and the wonton strips over-powered the salad and made it full of carbs. The Chicken Bruschetta Salad also is full of carbs. Plus, they eliminated Happy Hour on the weekend. Its a shame, with all the competition of the other restaurants in the area, that Granite City is becoming less of a choice for us.

Took my wife here tonight at you for Mothers Day. Had an absolutely awesome experience did not have to wait to be seated, the sampler of 8 4 ounce in-house brewed beers was only $4.99 so that would make 32 ounces for 499 not bad for a brewery. We had a server name is Brittney who was very helpful informative and bubbly to the point that it made me bubbly. Phone we ordered our food it was actually very modestly priced my wife got chicken onions rice a salad and broccoli for $15. I got a signature dish came up with by the chess of a huge burger with guacamole and pico on it and french fries for only $12. I will absolutely be coming back here again many times over hope this review has helped you definitely go here to eat you will absolutely love it.

Ate at Granite City for Easter Brunch and the food was HORRIBLE. The buffet was completely disorganized. Three separate lines that fed into one another. The buffet was put on the outdoor porch and getting in out out was a challenge. The eggs were powdered and cold. The prime rib was very well done and also cold. Even the tea was awful. How do you have bad tea in Nashville, TN and stay in business? Needless to say, we will not be returning to Granite City for any holiday meals. Advice to Granite City..Your restaurant is not set up to be a buffet. Stick to your regular menu. Not one person with our group of 8 enjoyed their experience and the 2 tables next to us also vowed not to return.

Went last weekend with my cousin from another state hoping to kick off a great night with some great brews. Sat down in the bar, waited. Then waited. Then waited some more and finally a half hour in we got a beer! I should have known that would have been the highlight of the trip. After begging (literally, walking up and asking the servers) for somebody to let us order, get drinks, we kept hearing theyd be by but never happened. Three hours later we each got a check for one beer each, because thats all we got to order. Thanks again granite city.

Stopped by here while I was staying at the Drury next door. I loved the waffle potato nachos. That was a very interesting take on traditional nachos - and quite tasty. I had the fish and chips, which was based on walleye - not your usual fish and chips fish. It was OK, though it tasted rather "fishy." Im guessing thats because walleye is a game fish. I tried one of their beers. It was a little sweeter than I like, but otherwise was very good. Overall this was a pretty good place. If youre in the area give it a try.

We ordered our food Togo. We ordered the Idaho waffle fries and both of us got the roasted prime rib sandwich. The menu stated the fries would have sour cream. They did not. The cheese was just a shredded cheese which was melted into a big ball on the top, not spread out on the fries. Also when we got them, they were very cold and stale. Also we felt like the meat on the sandwhiches were not a usda prime cut roast. Very low grade "prime rib" like a roast beef from Arbys. Will not eat here again.

I had the "Roasted Prime Rib" but the quality of the meat was very substandard. It was a pasty sandwich with mystery meat in it. Another person in my party had the same thing and was of the same opinion. Half my sandwich had peppers, but the other half did not. Since my party and I had to wait so long for our food, I had to gulp it down but regretted it later. I wont be going back, but if you do go, dont get that sandwich and dont pay extra for the curly fries...just get the regular ones.

The food is good and usually consistently well prepared, for takeout or dining in. The staff is reasonable to accommodate picky/allergic eaters. It is difficult to find healthier/fewer allergen options on the menu, as many of the items are cooked in sauces and/or have multiple items. EX: pork, sauces with high sugar or soy, higher allergen veggies. If youre patient and concise, the staff will be too - thats been my experience.

We love Granite City. The menu is great and the price point is perfect. We have had a positive experience every visit (which is quite a few). However, during the last visit to the brunch on Sunday, we had to wait a while for our drink order. Apparently there was a mix up on which waiter had our table. The manager and staff went above and beyond to make it right. Just another reason we love Granite City in Franklin.
