I eat a plant-based diet, but I always tell restaurants that arent vegan/vegetarian that I have a dairy allergy so they dont hassle me about it (9 out of 10 times I get hassled about it or an occasional eye roll). I planned on ordering a vegetarian burrito without cheese and sour cream with a side of rice. I asked if the rice was cooked in butter and after being told "yes" I asked if they could make me a side of rice without butter. They told me no because its premade. I was mad, but asked for just the burrito without cheese or sour cream. After I picked up my order, my burrito was smothered in cheese sauce and I was out money and lunch. This happened on my lunch break so I didnt have the time to venture anywhere else. Considering I left a nice tip, I am very dissatisfied and will not be back again. Telling someone you wont make something a different way because of their diet is poor customer service and incredibly unprofessional.

Really loved this place until yesterday 7-9-14. While being seated at a table the party at the next table were extremely loud and I understand that kids will be kids. I kindly asked if we could be seated in another section. Well the host snatched the menus off the table and huffed, rolled his eyes and mumbled something under his breathe. If you start my experience with your establishment in this manor then you cannot have my hard earned money. He was very nasty so we left and when to another Mexican Restaurant and will never step foot in there again. Sometime people have bad days but he was over the top rude!

One of the better Mexican restaurants in the area. Coming from Los Angeles, this is a little different style of Mexican than Im used to but pretty good. I had the carne asada which came in a very large portion size. The carne was a little salty, and very lightly marinated but otherwise good. The service was excellent and accommodated our large group well.

Public Health Alert. They served the wrong dinner and I had already began to eat it. They brought the correct dinner without notice and removes the original. I asked them to box it and they refused. Did they throw it away? I doubt that. They would certainly have boxed it rather than throw it away. Right? Think about it... Thats GROSS - not to be trusted!

Some of the least authentic Mexican food Ive had in awhile. The ground beef tasted like it was from a Prego can, the guacamole was blended with so much cream I could not taste avocado, and the margarita tasted just, um, cheap. The best part of the meal was the chips that came with the salsa. They were crispy and tasted good.

A friend and I also ate there recently during a business lunch and were asked to leave as well so the waiter could have his table. It wasnt like the restaurant was completely full and there were a few empty tables around us. I was very offended and will not eat there again. Needless to say the waiter did not get a tip.

I dont know who all these folks are that wrote the negative reviews but Ive been eating at Mazatlan for YEARS about once a week and in all that time Ive had maybe two meals that werent fantastic! Seriously Ive had literally HUNDREDS of meals and 99.9% were perfect. The service is great too!

Mazatlan is a perfectly fine Mexican restaurant. They have just what most Americans expect from a place of its kind - more Tex-mex than authentic Mexican. The food is consistently good, service is quick, but there are no points for originality.

This place a so-so for Mexican. Their salsa tastes like somebody is in the back mixing together cocktail sauce and ketchup. But theyre quick with the food and its good for large groups. No Cholula though, checking that off in con column.

Chips are fresh and hot, salsa is delicious and flavorful, and the food is fantastic! Everything is reasonably priced and the server was very attentive. The food also comes out quickly, which is a plus. Very good restaurant

I would give it a 0 stars rating but it wouldnt let me. Management is so rude. Especially Hector who always comes across like a snob. Service this time around terrible as I nearly walked out. I do not recommend!!!!!

Best chips and salsa in town. Great margaritas. Their Jim Nachos are incredibly tasty and extremely affordable. Eat and enjoy the best Mexican restaurant in Nashville. Trust me, I have been going for over 12 years.
