First of all i was a very satisfied when this place originally opened...it had been sometime since Ive been here and decided to go with a sure thing (as I had always been satisfied)..the servers were short tempered and very uninterested in way they were doing...the food was below average I ordered the steak medium well and received a dry steak..the salsa was watery...my wifes food was burned...and my alcoholic beverage was not prepared properly..it was not worth the grief to send the food back with the staff (who dont seem to care) we simply paid our bill and left..hopefully the owner reads tho and takes my thoughts into consideration

I got the El Presidente and let me tell you this dish is huge. The chicken burrito that came with this combination plate was definitely the highlight it was super juicy and packed full of flavor. The girlfriend got steak fajitas which was also pretty good. Steak was cooked and seasoned well and the light charr on the bottom enhanced the flavor. The rice and beans tasted just as you would expect. So I dont really need to elaborate on that. The chips were hot and fresh, salsa tasted better once I added some salsa picante de chile habanero, although the girlfriend had to stop eating it because I made it too hot

This place is pretty easy to miss if youre just driving down Sagamore. The inside is festive and well decorated. Prices are very reasonable and the portions are generous. You get the traditional complementary chips and salsa. Their salsa is quite runny, but the chips are some of the better Ive had. The Taco Salad Fajita is served in a unique giant fried taco shell shaped pretty much like a huge taco. The Pico and Guac really spruce it up. The El Meson burrito is a pretty standard burrito, but it is served with all the typical Mexican sides that make it quite a full meal.

LOVE this place! Food is delicious and inexpensive, serving portions are large (be prepared to bring home leftovers), and service is great (they wear ear pieces!). Although this place is kind of hidden in Lafayette, I encourage the drive for Boilermakers. Ive been all over the city looking for a great Mexican hang out for my weekly servings of good margaritas, warm chips, and savory grub, and this definitely hits the spot. I recommend the steak fajita with a margarita and a long nap afterwards to recover from its greatness.

I love the decor of this place! I was disappointed with the bathroom however. It definitely needs remodeling. I had the Davids platter. It is a sample platter but I was not expecting it to be so huge! I would definitely recommend this as a dish to share between two people or for someone who likes to eat more than three pounds of food in one sitting. It was good. They do give complimentary tortilla chips and salsa. The salsa was a little more liquid than I prefer but it was a 7 out of 10.

This is a great place to bring family and friends. The food quantities are huge. And the prices are fantastic. Be sure to get the fahita dinner where you make them at the table. It is the chicken, beef fahitas. They bring a large skillet to the table and a tray of things to add to them. Cheese, refried beens ect. It is a LARGE portion, and the price is great. Youll soon see why, because you are so full when you leave, your ready for bed.

Prices similar to other well-known Mexican restaurants in town. Service was quick and friendly, if not a little English-challenged. This restaurant is a former Burger King and the wide-open seating area brings back memories. The food was okay but bland. We each had the chimichanga acupulco. The default salsa was particularly weak and watery. Portion size of the main meals were about right. Margaritas were plenty strong.

This place looks much better on the inside than it does on the outside. It is basically a very well rennovated burger king. The chips were great; They were hot to the touch when we got them and had a nice crunch. The Arroz con Pollo was tasty and made great soft tacos. We asked for some tortillas and they brought them right out no questions asked. The only downside I would say is that their salsa is a bit wattery.

We LOVE this place. Is this authentic Mexican food? Not especially, but its damn good. Lets be honest, any time you see ground beef on the menu, its not really Mexican. The inside is colorful, the wait staff is all very friendly, and the food is great. With the exception of the Mexican pizza, we have yet to find a thing on the menu we dont like.

Worst experience ever! Waited over 10 minutes for someone to take our order. Finally came to table, we ordered. Both my husbands and my meal were completely wrong. We ate and went to pay for bill and they only took off $5.59 (as a police discount). Sorry but this is unacceptable. I should have only had to pay for drinks and bean dip. Will not return.

Great food and friendly staff. We each ordered a special dinner sampler for $10.99 and holy guacamole it was a lot of food. They brought out our dinner on a turkey platter size plate. We laughed for five minutes in amazement and then dug in. Two very full bellies and four thumbs. up.

Stopped in a couple months ago on a very busy Cinco de Mayo. Had a bit of a wait to get a table and the staff had obviously had a tiring day. Food was good. Have to give them a free pass on the speed because of being slammed with customers. Would go again.

Wait staff is ready when you walk in the door. Chips and salsa in front of you within a few minutes. Friday special enchiladas supreme $6.99. 4 enchiladas, beef, chicken, bean and cheese. Very good. Especially the chicken! ONly negative ,, very noisy.

Boyfriend is not a Mexican restaurant fan. Inspite of that He thought the food, portions, service, atmosphere well exceeded his tough standards! It made for an excellent date night, especially after going somewhere else first and having to walk out.

If you want delicious, authentic Mexican food with a great staff, look no further! I stumbled upon El Meson by accident, & Im so glad I did. Their staff is so friendly, the food is great, and Ive never had a bad experience. Very underrated.

Food was great. Try the Arroz pollo y cameron. Chicken, shrimp, onions, peppers and tomatoes under white cheese sauce. Lettuce, pico de gallo, sour cream and avocado slices, with a side of rice. Really good, really reasonable.

Lived here 17 years and I can tell you El Meson is the best Mexican restaurant in town. Their shredded chicken is so juicy and flavorful and their salsa is great. Service is always prompt and you get your food quickly.

Second time visiting this place. We live about a hour and a half away but we had to come back because the first time was so good. Big portions for the price. Amazing scenery. And the food is good. I would recommend it.

The only reason I gave a 4 instead of 5 is that weve had few bad experiences here. Most of the time the food is very good and reasonably priced. Im not a fan of their orchata. My favorite is the Quesadilla Mazatlan.
