Its a rainy night in Myrtle Beach and we called Sobaya to ask about whether reservations were needed. The kind woman who answered explained that it would be a good idea, as they didnt have outdoor seating in the rain. Im so happy we made those reservations! The ambience is pleasant but understated. This is no tourist trap. Everything about the restaurant communicates sincerity. The food was excellent, presented nicely, and priced reasonably. The service was prompt and consistently pleasant. You must try it if you like Japanese food or if you want to try it. You will be tasting the best. Enjoy!

Amazing. Visited this quaint location and was not disappointed. We started with the Spicy Tuna Summer roll and it was delicious. The wasabi, soy sauce, and other ingredients were all homemade and authentic. Then the miso soup and ginger dressing were like no other Ive ever had. The teryaki chicken and the Yanikiniku was amazing, made with wholesome ingredients. 6/5

Its a small quaint bistro. Everyone is friendly. I had a question about a dish and the server explained it to me. Everyone was very helpful. I had the gyoza for an appetizer. It was delicious! For the main course I had soba stir fry with seafood. It was also delicious and fresh! I had green tea ice cream mochi for dessert! I highly recommend this bistro

This is the single best Asian restaurant Ive been to in America. After two years in Korea and an obsession with Japanese food and culture, I cant say Ive had anything more fresh outside of the street food scene in Asia itself. I wish there was more space as far as seating goes, but thats a price Im damn sure willing to pay for this food.

My husband and I frequent this restaurant at least twice per month and are planning to take my dad there for dinner tonight:) The owners are most genuine and truly kind people. We enjoy talking with them as much as the food and the food is nothing short of wonderful!!!! One of the best kept secrets of MB<3

Love the vegetarian bento box. The tofu is PERFECT!!!! super soft but crispy on the outside with great sauce! But the bibimbap is the best. Served in a fabulous dish so the rice is still cooking and crispy. Out of this world. Staff is amazing. Support local business!!!!

Real Japanese cuisine by a chef from Fukuoka, Japan. Their miso soup was truly fabulous. I hoped the Tonkotsu ramen soup had more taste but the pork in it, called Chashu, were absolute excellent. And they are friendly.

Outstanding! Japanese husband in the kitchen and his Korean wife waits tables. The menu is a mix of the two cultures and everything we had was killer. Great noodle shop, best "Asian" Ive found at the beach. Must try it!

Great price for fresh authentic Japanese food. Locally owned, small establishment. One of the best locally owned restaurants in Myrtle Beach. Forget Miyabis, Yamato, Mulan, etc. This place is the best.

Very good Korean and Japanese food! The food is very tasty and served in generous portions. The shoyu ramen was a lovely mix of sweet and savory flavors. The pork was a little fatty, but overall good.

Spicy tuna roll was very good. Tonkotsu ramen very good as well. Staff very attentive. As other reviews have said, it is small inside. Only 5-6 tables, more seating outside. Recommended!
