We found Fiesta Mexicana while living on the northern end of Myrtle Beach. Every time we went there, the staff was excellent, and the food was always wonderful. I dont think Ive ever been to a restaurant where the quality of the food as well as the way the staff treated customers was so consistent. One visit I noticed our waitress looking at us rather intently. She explained why as we were chatting one of the times she stopped to make sure everything was OK and whether we needed anything else. Turns out she had worked in a different restaurant in another town nearby. We had been at that restaurant a number of times during my pregnancy and after our son was born. Id thought on prior visits that she seemed familiar but figured it was due to seeing her as often as we were at Fiesta Mexicana. She had asked if we ever at at the other restaurant and when we said we had, she then commented that she thought that she remembered us from the day we left the hospital with our new baby. That had been at least 4 years prior to us having the conversation. I was amazed she recalled meeting us. Guess that explained why she looked familiar to me as well. The servers were always surprised over the fact that Id order camarones al mojo de ajo (a very tasty shrimp dish sauteed in a buttery garlic sauce) meal for myself and then wed order a plate of just the shrimp for our son. The meal came with rice, refried beans, soft tortillas, lettuce, sour cream, and guacamole. Needless to say, in spite of loving the shrimp, the rest of it did not interest our son. The portion surprised me in all honesty. The portion of just the shrimp for him was the same amount as I got with the meal. It always surprised the servers because they never thought a boy as young as our son was would eat that much shrimp. He did and sometimes then swiped some of my shrimp. Thats how tasty it was. We never had leftovers of his meal. Their fajitas were great. The Yolandas (chicken enchiladas with a ranchero sauce) were very good and the portion was also fairly large. The chilaquiles and pollo con chorizo were also wonderful. One day I was in the mood for something different, something Id never tried. So I asked our waitress what she would recommend. Interestingly, she recommended the cabrito, which is goat. The way they fixed it was as a stew basically. It was rather good and I am glad I took the risk. I am not sure if it is still on the menu or not. Their prices were good, especially given the great service and size of the portions. I do not recall ever leaving there dissatisfied. The wait staff also got to know us well enough that they rarely needed us to ask them to substitute extra rice instead of refried beans for me and extra beans rather than rice for my husband. We wouldnt have had them substitute it except for the fact that the two often ended up combined on the plate somewhat and since I hate beans as much as my hubby hates rice, it was easier to ask them to switch them. Had they been served in separate cups as some restaurants do, wed have just switched them. And most of the time, we didnt need to ask them to 86 the sour cream for my hubby. We took some friends and family there at times and each person we took was well satisfied with them. My Mom isnt a big fan of Mexican restaurants because she is never sure that what she gets wont be too spicy. I finally convinced her to go with me and as she looked over the menu I told her what I knew would be fine for her and what would be too spicy. Needless to say she got the shrimp I always got and she was thrilled with it. While I have since learned how to make it, its much better to eat it at Fiesta Mexicana.

The food was good, kudos to the chef! The customer service is why I am giving it 2 stars. We ordered $100 worth of take out and even tipped the one who said he "personally checked to make sure everything was in there". We get back to our resort and find that we are missing our 2 large cheese dips and a half of one of our fajita dinners, and the most insulting was the small bag of chips and one small container of salsa for four meals! REALLY! 4 adult people! When we called to ask about retrieving our missing parts of our dinner and a discount for our troubles of having to return a second time, Melanie says she is the owners daughter and would discount it. We get there and the greeter was less than friendly, a mgr came over to ask us what we needed and we tell him and even show him the sad amount of chips and salsa that was given for 4 people to enjoy with their now cold meals because half of one was missing. He happily retrieves our 2 cheese dips and our half meal and medium bag of chips. No salsa again! I asked for Melanie regarding the discount and he insisted on us coming back to eat the next day for a discount, we said we were going back to Georgia the next day, and so he insisted on us just taking an additional fajita meal instead because it would be too difficult for him to do a refund and re-ring our order with a discount. So needless to say we are driving home to Georgia w/ an extra fajita meal in our cooler!

Beware. I am a very happy and patient person, but my experience here must be shared to warn others of being overcharged for every tiny thing! Happy hour was advertised on their website as all day $3 margaritas.... Was charged $4/each. Asked for sour cream for our quesadilla... 50 cent charge. Asked if we could use a coupon from my smartphone that others on trip advisor have used and we were told no even though the coupon did not even have a barcode.... Its literally a print out of a picture on a Web page. We were told that they need to keep track of who uses it. The restaurant has 2 locations, I highly doubt they count paper print outs at the end of each month. The food was good but the same item is listed numerous times for many different prices in different sections. A combination meal with a quesadilla, rice and beans was $7.50 but the waitress suggested getting a $10 quesadilla which came with LESS FOOD. Went in expecting to pay around 25-30 max with our coupon and drinks (especially because Tuesday is a happy hour day as posted on the website) and was charged over $42 when prices were clearly noted on the website. Extremely poor management and they have clearly posted on TripAdvisor and other reviewing places and it is clear from the way they mention details like that they have a grade A rating and suggestive places to park. Beware.

This was a wonderful Mexican restaurant. We were a party of 5. They didnt take reservations but we were 1st on the waiting list for a 6 pm arrival. One of our party was a vegetarian. Two others were gluten free diners. And one had a nut allergy. Not very easy to accommodate. We enjoyed everything! The chips and salsa was delicious... fresh made and unlimited. We had a order of fresh guacamole, which was prepared right at the table... wonderful! Best tasting guacamole Ive ever had. I had their chicken and beef enchiladas. My wife had cheese and bean enchiladas. One person had chicken quesadilla. Another person had enchiladas and burritos. I cant remember what the other entrees were. But everyone thought their food was delicious. It was well prepared, hot and tasted so fresh. Our server, Gergina, was outstanding. She was friendly, patient and attentive. Our food order was perfect when delivered. The other servers who assisted her were also very nice. Very welcoming. We didnt have a problem, but it seemed like parking might be a little tight at the height of the dinner hour. Overall, this is a great restaurant. I am from New Jersey. And I will definitely go back when we next visit Myrtle Beach.
