Great people, great food, great atmosphere! Here in Charleston for work, from California, and have been coming to this place for 2 days straight now and plan on a third or fourth, Im only here for 4 days... I have been coming in late about a half hour before they close and end up staying after hours, while theyre closing, chit-chatting and eating some great BBQ! Its probably obvious that Im not from around here, yet they have treated me like family. The barbecue is the best Ive had, even in Charleston! Brisket, pork belly, pulled pork sandwich, and even house-made pork rinds covered in a dry rub! The beer selection is great, and they make some killer cocktails! I have bought all the swag they have to offer and I look forward to rocking it in Northern California!!! If Im ever in Charleston again will definitely be coming back and Im sure they will remember me.

Love this place! The smoked wings are amazing and the Brunswick stew is some of the best Ive ever had. As far as deserts, Ive tried the bourbon pecan pie with marshmallow topping and the banana pudding. Both were super sweet so prepare yourself, but still very good. In terms of the meat, I like the pork belly. Dont care for the sausage (not a huge sausage fan to begin with) and the pulled pork doesnt quite have that smokey flavor that I like. As far as parking...be forewarned, parking sucks. There might be 6 parking spaces TOTAL in front of the restaurant (including handicapped) and I believe there are three parallel parking spaces on the side of the building. Most times, I dont even bother with that lot. There is a grocery store right next door with ample parking within pretty close proximity. Overall, definitely a favorite!

David Orth Your review will be posted publicly on the web. Learn more When in Charleston, I normally go to Melvins or Bessingers for excellent BBQ at a reasonable price but I thought I would try something different this time. So based on the reviews I chose Swig and Swine. Big mistake. $9 got me a small BBQ sandwich of which much had to be spit out because it was not chewable (grit and cartilage). My side was the Mac&Cheese and it was not good either. The water tasted like soap water. Way over priced and super poor quality. Needless to say I will NOT be going back to Swig & Swine but I will go to Melvins or Bessingers for the excellent and delicious BBQ sandwich, french fries and onion ring. Makes me hungry just thinking about Melvins and Bessingers. My next 2 hour ride into Charleston, Ill be eating at Melvins or Bessingers.

The food was really good, my husband and I shared the 3 meat platter with chicken, brisket, and pork belly, the chicken is amazing! It just completely falls away from the bone, super juicy with great flavor! The brisket was super tender and had great flavor as well. Im not a big fat person so I passed on the belly but my husband loved it! We also got a side of the pulled pork, it was nice and lean, very tender and the flavor was spot on. Our waitress Belinda was great, she knew the menu and convinced us to try the chicken, which again, was great. She was very friendly and funny and was on top of our table when it came to drinks and stuff. Would definitely recommend eating here!

Having lived in the lowcountry for 20+ years now, my wife and I are familiar with all the usual BBQ joints, the ones that tend more towards mass production than hand made fare made with care. Weve wanted to try Swig&Swine for a while now. Finally had the chance to enjoy the place and left feeling both satisfied and impressed. I had the burnt ends sandwich with collards and my wife had the pulled pork with Mac n cheese and collards. Heaping portions, great sauces (both were great by themselves) and the collards rank right up there with my in laws. Sat at the chefs bar and was kindly treated with a taste of the sausage, smoked turkey, and pork belly. Will definitely go back soon.

If you were planning on coming here, I suggest you find another resturaunt. This resturaunt offers very limited options for example: you cant get burgers, steak, or grilled chicken peices. Although the desert was good, i was very dissapointed with my ribs and wings. First, the ribs were over cooked and too salty. And 2nd, the wings didnt come with sauce options, usually i can order hot with garlic or mild but at swig & swine you can only get the dry burnt wings. Swig & Swine also doesnt give you straws with your drink. The customer service was great either, they were okay but i didnt feel like they were very nice. Overall, dont bother trying Swig & Swine if you want good food.

I used Swig and Swine to cater my wedding May 21st 2016. They did such a wonderful job. The food was so delicious, the wait staff and bar tenders were awesome as well as professional, and Chris was such a pleasure to work with. He really helped me stay close to my budget and helped make our wedding reception a wonderful experience. I cant say enough how amazing the food was either. We had appetizers as well as buffet style. A lot of rave reviews from our guests. They also cleaned up afterwards and didnt make me have to worry about anything. They even packed up the leftovers for us. Just a phenomenal group and I would definitely work with them again in the future.

Cant say I was thrilled with this place. Maybe I was spoiled growing up in the south, but this was not the southern cooking I was expecting. The meats were almost nothing but fat and the service at the bar left much to be desired. The gent at the bar took his time taking my order and almost completely ignored my husband sitting next to me. Hardly said anything in the way of suggestions or specials. He seemed more interested chatting with whom I could only guess were freinds of his. For the ratings this place had and the price we paid it was very underwhelming. Not the best Charleston has to offer Im afraid.

The food is AMAZING!! Seriously, its hard to name just one thing to love!! Me, I love the brisket which is meat perfection. They even let me ask for a lean cut. The sides are so good especially the baked mac n cheese and the potato salad. We love this place so much, we drive from Savannah just to eat here!! They smoke their meats around the clock and it definitely tastes like it. I dont eat pork, but my companions do and everyone was so busy eating, I had to wait till they were done before I could ask how the BBQ was and I was told DELICIOUS!

I had the potato salad, brisket, pork belly and veggie of the day which was brussel sprouts. Potato salad was excellent and some of the best Ive ever had, brussel sprouts was good but needed salt and more cooking time, brisket was just okay due to rub being way to salty and pork belly was good. I wasnt a fan of this sauces they offer. Im not a vinegar based sauce person and their sweet bbq sauce tasted like vinegar. Their other selection was vinegar based, white bbq sauce and mustard. Pretty good food and you get a lot for your money.
