I generally dont read 5 or 1 star reviews of restaurants or products because I assume they have an agenda to promote or denegrate the subject and not be fair. That being said, I rated it 5 stars and have loyally patronized this restaurant for many years. While I have been to almost every other Mexican restaurant in the area, (a few times), I call the LaHacienda on Folly Road my favorite. I now drive a long way to come here and pass a few other Mexican eateries on the way here. The food here is VERY good, but more importantly, it is CONSISTENTLY good. The quantities are more than sufficient. They are not cutting corners here like so many others so if you are a light eater, you might consider sharing a plate with someone. The business exterior is very underwhelming, but the owners have made a lot of improvements to make it more authentic and nice for the patrons. The staff is usually responsive and generally helpful with whatever you need. I prefer the chicken fajitas over the other choices because I must have lots of vegetables with my meals. There is a big choice of vegetables here and they dont appear to have been frozen. I love the sweet green peppers and broccoli. I asked and I dont believe the chicken was ever frozen. The manager claims to get deliveries every 2-3 days of never-frozen meats. This is a family-style, sit-down-and-order restaurant. Our family enjoys it.

We used to eat here all the time. We began to see a decline in food and service so we began going to another local Mexican place. We decided to try la ha afain on Friday. We ordered a small cheese dip. The taste was fine but its not worth the price. Our son ordered 2 soft beef tacos. They were very small. We shared a fajita. The steak was sour! So gross! ! The waiter took it away and brought a new one. Overall, not a place we will be going back too soon/ ever. Would not recommend to anyone.

Food was alright, nothing special. The service was absolutely horrible. Waitress was rude, and failed to actually serve us, and made sure we had what we needed. The check had an item on it that the waitress didnt even give us, and was rude when we asked for the check to be split. She seemed to be more interested on waiting on the group of college boys than anything else. The worst service I have EVER experienced.

I grew up in Texas, so mexican and TexMex food was ALL around me. This is ho hum, ground beef with some salt and pepper. Taco Bell tastes better!! I had heard a lot about "La Ha" and was missing mexican food so I went, what a let down!!! Charleston has a TON of great restaurants but lacks great mexican spots!

I LOVE La-Ha. The service is great and theyre always so polite to me and my kids. We usually just go for beer and chips but when I get something small and light to go along with it, Im always pleased. I stop at 4* just because sometimes its not super clean but nor is it necessarily dirty.

cheap, last mexican food made and served by mexicans. seem better and with a slightly different menu than the downtown laha, but with the same great happy hour giant draft dos equis, or margarita pitchers. there are better mexican restaurants, but none as cheap or fast.

Great food and fabulous margaritas! Friendly service. We recommend the burritos tapatios and the tacos de asada. Not as authentic as eating in Mexico, but what is in the US? Better Mexican food than some other places in the area. Try La Ha!

We are from southern California and know good Mexican food. Food was good, portions large and really good service. Refried beans not the best.. taste like right out of the can. But everything else was yummy. Try it.

Food was great! Our waiter was like superman, he was doing everything from cleaning tables to keeping up with many tables, answering the phone. He was on top of refills and everything. Highly recommended this place!

Went here for the good ol 21st... ended up doing a "border jumper"... ...which involved lime juice in the eye, tequila shots, chugging beers, and smashing nachos on my forehead.
