Had a pretty bad experience here Saturday night. Our previous visit was better. Service: Friendly but inattentive and unsanitary. Our server was very sweet, but she never came back to our table to offer us a second round of drinks, and the food generally took a long time to come out (and apparently was not well timed, see below). The worst part was watching them clean the tables -- they were pretty sloppy about it in general, and one bus boy actually placed clean silverware and placemats on the seat of a chair (you know, where people put their rear ends). Food: Mixed bag. On the positive side, the wings, French onion soup, chicken parm and salad were decent. On the negative side, the kids chicken nuggets were quite obviously the frozen pink slime version that I would never even serve my kids at home. The mussels in the mussels with linquine were not cleaned properly and full of sand, and the dish as a whole was luke warm when served. My wifes mixed drink was clearly not done right, and it wasnt exactly the most complicated request. Overall, not a horrible place, but there are much better options for similar fare in the area (e.g. Isaac Newtons in Newtown, just down the road) or for much nicer food for just a little more money (e.g. Yardley Inn). If you do find yourself here, stick to the basics: burgers, wings, salads, soups, and avoid anything remotely "fancy" (like mussels).

My wife and I had dinner here at 6pm on a Saturday in Sept. 2016. We were first time visitors to the Continental Tavern, and we liked it. Outdoor dining looks nice, on the deck that rings the building, but we chose to sit indoors on a chilly evening. The restaurant filled up while we were there. Its a large menu with lots of choices, mostly American fare and meats. I ordered chicken pot pie for dinner ($16). It was not special. My wife had a pork loin dish with mashed potatoes ($17) and she liked it very much. Dinner prices are reasonable. We paid about $42 plus tip for our entrees and a beer. We liked the atmosphere. Its not fancy or formal, but it feels historic and somewhat classy. The place appears to be an authentic small-town gathering place, but with some tourists as well. There were several families with children at this early hour. Everybody seemed pretty happy here, including us. I would go back to the Continental in Yardley.

We had a terrible experience here a couple months ago. We waited for a very long time to see our server, waited for our drinks, waited for our food (which came out incomplete and we wound up waiting while it cooled on our table). The servers were running around like chickens without heads and it was a shame to see, and pretty uncomfortable. As a former hostess and server, it is generally understood that you do not seat tables with a backed up kitchen and/or servers. It leads to the problems that we experienced. I wrote to the restaurant, describing our experience as an FYI. I was never contacted, so I wrote again with a slightly more negative tone. I recently received a call that I can come in and there is a gift card at the bar for me. While I appreciate the sentiment (and the burgers were delicious), we will not be returning to this place. Like another person said, there are PLENTY of other restaurants around with much better customer service.

Local tavern The continental is a local place which gets a pretty hard-core regular crowd at the bar. The place considers itself a "Community" location. The folks are very nice, service is very friendly and everyone is always having a nice time. This is BUCKS County here. The food is decent and typical for bar fare; however, there are some thoughtful options like gluten-free rolls for your burger available if you need that. Wings are good, nachos are very good. Again, bar food. The dining room is nice and there is a small patio area at the front entrance which looks over the main drag in Yardley against "Lake Afton." A nice time to visit is early afternoon. After 5 the place really fills up. There is always some vibrant discussion going on and expect to hear more than a few political conversations in the tavern.

Went there with my family tonight. We sat down and the wait staff completely forgot about us. 15 minutes later I had to find someone to tell them we were waiting. The food came out and had absolutely no flavor. Over salted hamburgers that were simply slopped on a plate. I asked for the Con. fries and were given regular. My wife got a mozzarella sandwich that was suppose to had a sauce on it, but they forgot. When I asked the waitress about it she was extremely rude and seemed annoyed at us. They took the fries back and slopped some old bay in the middle of them. Wow!!! Why dont they just put the old bay on the table. I could have done that. My suggestion...save your money and got to Vinces. If you want more of a bar atmosphere, head over to Newtown and got to Isac Newtons. Its worth he drive.

Used to be a cheap dive, now they succumbed to the gentrification of Yardley. My last bill was over $60 for a couple drinks with a friend. They have 6 packs with inconsistent pricing, ($20 one day, $16 the next), it shows they dont even research market value for their beers. They just slap a price on it and let people buy it. They charge 7.50 for a standard IPA. Its 3.50 for a yeungling, for reference. Im not coming back until they get their prices for beer figured out. Also, they use fresh jalapeno rather than pickled watch out. Also, dont eat the fried pretzels. They are oil soaked soft pretzels , and i had gastrointestinal issues for 2 days after eating them.

Disliked: Customer Service. The manager had an opportunity to correct a simple issue on the bill, but instead he came to the table to ask me to calm down as he is sipping a Red Bull. He clearly did not read or acted on the issue properly. I know this was my experience. But take this as a warning. As, My family and I have regularly enjoyed their food and atmosphere for over five years I have decided to never return to this establishment again. Thanks for your understanding and insult, Mr Manager on Red Bull!!!! See you at the Yardley Inn or any of the other 100 restaurants within a 5 miles radius.

They absolutely have the best burgers in the area. Whenever I have a burger somewhere else, Im always disappointed. Also try their "Con Tav" fries! Theyre on par with the "crab fries" at Chickie n Petes, and luckily not as salty. I definitely recommend their nachos, the pesto and mozzarella sandwich, the French Onion soup, the fajitas, the southwest wrap, and any of their salmon specials. They also have a nice selection of beers. The only thing I could say that is slightly negative is I wish their alcohol prices were 5-10% cheaper; even just their beer. But everything is great!

Great atmosphere if you want to go for a meal or just drinks at the bar. Its one of the oldest buildings in Yardley so it definitely has history behind it. The food is good, albeit "non adventurous". Thats not a bad thing! Having classic pub fare thats well executed is always a plus in my book. Wait staff is also very nice. Its not stuffy at all so its a great place to hang with friends and family.
