My new local favorite. I love everything about this place. They serve superior eats in a casual pub style restaurant bar that also serves a host of many different beers. Staff is professional, friendly and accommodating. I had a milk stout that was off the chain. Our appetizer was the short rib egg roll. My boyfriend gave me that look, but after he tried the marriage of texture and flavor, he was sold. There was nothing I would change or add to this dish, it was stimulating, a great starter. My entree was rosemary chicken over sweet potato puree w fried parsnips. Its just chicken right? How good can it possibly be? Well, it was perfect. The flavors married in my mouth in perfect harmony. The chicken was not dry. Ive eaten at many many restaurants in my day; very "fine" restaurants that just could not hold a candle to this flavor profile. I cannot wait to try everything else on the menu. Im very happy. Zero to complain of and the price is reasonable. A+++++++

This is my favorite restaurant in Sussex county. Fantastic risotto; Ive enjoyed everything I have ever eaten there. $18-20 a person for an entree on average and they always have interesting specials. Great craft beer selection. Live music there pretty often but not obtrusive - usually just light acoustic; no aspiring stars screaming to get noticed while you are trying to eat. If there were one complaint to make about this place, it would be that it can be a little bit stuffy when crowded. Still, the taste and selection of the food make it worth the slight lack of elbow room. Go on a Sunday and the experience is that much better. It is a diamond in an otherwise VERY rough region for food.

Salt is a great restaurant and a really unique dining experience. The overall feel is a very cozy one and this is especially true at their busiest hours. Make sure to call ahead to see if they have tables available because they get very busy. Parking can also be a little tight. Their beer menu will absolutely overwhelm you but with so many choices theres something for everybody. I have to personally recommend the burgers. It is a little creepy watching the old time Little Rascals on a looping DVD in the main dining room. Strangely though you cant stop watching it haha

This place is phenomenal! As a person who lived in New England and experienced some of the best seafood joints in the country I must say I was beyond impressed with their fish and chips. I used their special Chipotle sauce (not included) for dipping and "WOW" is all I can say. The portions for everyone seemed very sizable, delicious and well worth the price. Its a little comfortable place and a good family setting. A little loud on the weekend with the band right next to us but I am very impressed overall. Highly recommended.

Extremely overrated in a general sense, but definitely one of the better restaurants in this suburban area. Menu is pretty nice, prices a bit high, friendly staff, atmosphere is cool and relaxing, live music some nights, great bar and lots of different beers. Great place to go for drinks, but I wouldnt go here for dinner a lot. It is delicious, but pricey and sometimes cold.

i love the casual atmosphere with the amazing food. I have NEVER been disappointed. My boyfriend and I have been there many times, and will continue to. Food is by far the best in the area. Way better than Krave in Newton. My favorite dish is the Chicken Paprikash and Hangar steak. Good selection of beers as well.

I love this place! We traveled from Morristown to try it as it was recommended to us and we are glad we did. The food, service and prices are great. We went on a Friday night, made reservations first (thats a must) and got there in time to enjoy the music! We will definitely make the trip back again!

Wed been here before and knew the food was nothing special but for $20 for an entree it should be. For people who are about the portions only it probably would be fine but not if you care about the quality of the food... Jaw-droppingly overpriced for what it is. Wont ever be going back.

Went here for lunch one day. I really cant understand all the high ratings this place has received. The food was below average and service was slow. We came with high expectations and left thinking why was this place recommended so highly. Extremely disappointed, will never go again.

Easily one of the best restaurants in the area, I am confused why its not busier since its so good. Then again, Ill happily keep the place to myself. The menu variety is unparalleled, and the daily specials are always worth exploring. The staff is friendly, witty, and patient.

Ordered burger got cold bun and overcooked burger. Fries were great though. Not impressed. This was during lunch and the Waitress seemed like she was doing a majority of the work. I have heard great things about this place. Maybe dinner meal would be a better.

This place is a rip off!! The Chile was dryed out and the bowl was half full. When I enquired about it they owner said it was only a dip, however it didnt say that on the menu. Very overpriced, go elsewhere!! Plus they dont offer the lunch menu on Sundays!

Salt burger was surprisingly tasty. Its the only burger they have so they should be able to get it done right. Really good place with a good selection of beer and live music. They have a few beers on draft and the rest are bottles. I will be going back.

This place was excellent. Very reasonably priced yet delicious and creative food. The place was cozy and unpretentious and the guests and staff all seemed friendly too. Tons of beers on tap as well as bottles, special bottles and good cocktails.

As usual dinner was great. The only negative on the night was the one man entertainment, as good as he was, was so loud you couldnt hear the person sitting across the table from you.... and I love loud clear music, just not during dinner....

Im fairly lukewarm about this place. The food has great flavor combinations but the execution is always lacking. Even the burger isnt very impressive. They do have a nice beer selection. Best for drinks and pub appetizers in my opinion.

Stumbled upon this after hiking and was very pleasantly surprised. Had the burger with their homemade blue cheese and it was fabulous. Beer selection is great - mix of local and world beers. Worth the stop if youre in the area.

Salt was quite an enjoyable experience. They have an amazing beer selection. The food was very good with a nice variety of selection. The waitstaff was very friendly and the restaurant had a nice rustic feel to it.

The food and drink is WAY overpriced for the portions you get. $6.50 for an 8oz glass of craft beer. Which is ridiculous in itself. I got the spring roll appetizer, and I received two tiny rolls. That was $8.00!

Favorite place to eat in the area, hands down. Amazing menu & specials (for vegetarians too!), friendly servers & cool atmosphere. Love that its open later than many nearby restaurants during the week too
