Gone 2x= utter disappointment!!! Mention Green Parot to someone over 21yrs old...theyll say I hate that place! Hello OWNERS....read up, we know theres SIX of you, somebody...STEP UP its Newtown, we deserve much better!! . GET INVOLVED! As residents of Newtown, we were excited to have a NEW SPOT--- but AWFUL in every way! Dirty, Long wait, obnoxiously loud, Untrained, unprofessional & unfriendly staff, dirty glasses (gross), terrible food; overpriced for quality- or lack of! I even met an owner & told him of my 2x experience... All he did was tell me hes a local lawyer & gave me his card?? Not even a SORRY FOR A LOUSY EXPERIENCE ST MY RESTAURANT?!?!? I was floored & THEN IT MADE SENSE... No customer satisfaction interest. Ill spend my money elsewhere.

To despite all the other reviews.. I have to say on the several times I have been to the resturant everything has been wonderful, from opening night to current. As for the review that claims her husbands burger was a "frozen patty" .. impossible as there is not a freezer in the resturant, and for the "fish sticks" I reviewed the menu several times and dont see "fish sticks". From the hostess at the front door to the server and even the management they have always been friendly. My husband & I have had their burgers and the are surely not a "frozen patty", even my teenage son said it was the best burger he has had! I will continue to enjoy the great atmosphere and food at the Green Parrot!

Self identifying as an Irish restaurant, the green parrot is one of the better not exactly irish restaurants in the bux-mont area. They have the typical things that you might find at a bennigans, like an irish burger (which is what I ordered this time and was pretty good) and a jalapeño burger and other things of that sort, but what separates it from the faux irish restaurants is the actual irish foods, like Shepards pie and bangers and mash. The bar serves typical over priced high end drinks, serving Guinness and Jamison are about as irish as the bar gets. I would avoid it if they have one of their atrocious acoustic bands playing the worst of 80s and 90s top 40 hits.

If I could give this place ZERO stars I would. The food is over priced. The cooks are slobs. There was a hair in my cole slaw and my burger came out like a hockey puck (when I asked for it to be medium). I laugh every time I listen to the commercial on ESPN 950 AM or 97.5 FM The Fanatic. Being a local business owner, I was excited while this place was being built. There was a great stir in Newtown about this place... then they opened, and CRASHED on their faces. Go somewhere else... not here. This place is a drinking hole.. no more than that. Stay away or beware.

Service was attentive, definitely not overly friendly. The food was barely eatable. Started off with buffalo shrimp, which was literally just cooked shrimp with Franks red-hot dumped on it. I got the crab cake sandwich. The challah bread was dry, I had to scrape put the insides to fit it in my mouth because you couldnt push down on the bread. The crab cakes was plain and surprisingly enough not good (its hard to make crab unpalatable). The tartar sauce was mediocre but the richness was overwhelming combined with the crab. French fries were good however. Would not go back.

Decor was nice, menu was a tad on the expensive side (basically $11+ on apps and $13+ on the pub grub). Got the Garlic wings as an app and they had no flavor, just flakes of garlic on top that didnt really add any flavor to it. Waitress was very nice and assured me they usually are strong with garlic flavor, so iunno what happened to mine. Crab Cake Sandwich was delicious! Girlfriend had the Chicken Pot Pie, also a very good choice, super filling!

We went to the Green Parrot tonight, and it was okay. The inside is gorgeous, and the service was decent. There are obviously alot of things that they have to learn and work on...( servers just standing and waiting for drinks at service bar, pre-busing, attention to detail, etc.) But overall, despite that packed bar and house, the place did okay for the first night. I will be back in the near future to enjoy it again!

Excellent food , food came out in a orderly fashion and presentation was very well .. Also our waitress Jenny was wonderful and so great and understanding, especially when it came to my wife. My wife can be a real pain in the ass and Jenny was very understanding and respectful even when my wife started to become belligerent and ignorant . 5 stars for the Green Parrot and 5 stars for Jenny!

Been there 3 times and each time horrid. First time I figured an "Irish" ( and I use that term very lightly) restaurant would have a clue how to make Shepherds Pie, wrong... this does not even mention the dry chicken my wife got and the poor HVAC. Second time just as bad but with a longer wait. Third time was only because we had won a gift certificate and again no good. Have not been back since.

Terrible customer experience. Rude bartenders and manager. I have been a frequent customer since they opened but tonight was the last straw. I can deal with terrible food-at least Im expecting it-but I will not be paying for other peoples drinks because the bartenders lost track of tabs. That isnt right and it should be handled in a much nicer manner. I do not appreciate being yelled at.

Amazing beer selection, friendly staff, and gourmet food that is to die for. I will be back again and again. I have been here for lunches, dinners, and in the bar on weekend nights and have never had a bad time. Food is always fresh and delicious. Servers and hosts go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need. Saturday night in the bar is always a fun time, too!

The Green Parrot is a fun place to hang with old friends in the immediate neighborhood. Sit down for a casual family meal in their dining room or closed in patio or hop on over to the bar to catch a game and grab a few cocktails. They usually have game nights on the weekdays and youre usually surrounded by a young group of fun people!

Stopped in for lunch during Christmas holiday. Service extremely slow, restaurant was very loud. Food was okay but not spectacular, our order came wrong, but we didnt have time to correct it so just took what was brought out. Took forever to get our check and we saw no discount or apology for mistake. Wouldnt come back.

Horrible food, worst Shepards pie I have ever had at an Irish pub/restaurant. The bread pudding was pre-packaged and warmed up in a microwave. I am sure they have customers that must find the food at this restaurant acceptable - but with so many other (great) options within walking distance, it begs the question - why??

This is a great little place with great food and great service. Everything you get here, from food to drink to desert, is high quality and has been made with obvious care. My wife and I have been here several times, trying different food with each visit, and are always pleasantly surprised.
