I had been to Firkin a number of years ago, but had not come back due to very slow service. Well, if todays lunch is any indication, the service has vastly improved. We were seated quickly, had our drinks in minutes, our order taken promptly, and food arrived quickly too! And was served by a very lovely and proressional waitress. You say that is all well and good but if the food is no good, who cares if it arrives quickly? Well, I had a Summer Pesto Panini (chicken breast, cheese, pesto) with fires and Sam Adams Summer Ale and it was a great lunch. The pannini was tasty, fries were cooked well and were crispy, and the beer was good accompaniment. The only thing I am sorry about is not getting the name of the waitress so I could compliment her service here.

Firkin is a timeless local/college bar. The food is good, especially the (very crispy) wings. They have a surprisingly robust range of beers on tap. During the day you can expect to see families eating on the restaurant side but on weekends during the school year or during big games you can expect a pretty eclectic range of locals and students half in the bag. Ive been going to firkin for six years and I know people who have frequented this joint for longer and you can be sure firkin will never have a "too good for you" vibe. Despite its proximity to Trenton it doesnt feel "unsafe"

Best bar in Ewing in my opinion. Great service and friendly staff, food is pretty solid, although some of their experimental food specials are complete disasters, i.e pizza carbonara. They always have a great drink selection, and their weekly drink specials are pretty good too.Great games in the game room and an easy to use jukebox. No undesirable bums frequent here as much as other places, which is great to find in this town

Good food and prices in the restaurant. They change the menu often and service is friendly and quick. Bar area is another story. Bartenders are slow and more concerned with talking to each and watching TV than moving around the bar to check on customers. On a quiet night with two bartenders, customers sat around with empty glasses. Owner should dump his lazy veteran crew for people who want to be there.

My university worked with Firkin to host an alumni social before a football game and we give them two thumbs up. While I didnt personally work with them much prior for planning, their staff day-of event were exceptional. They were helpful, accommodating and welcoming to us out-of-towners. The food was great - the service was great. Thanks, Firkin!

Nice Pub with back room that has shuffle board, darts, arcade golf, music box and TVs. We always play on their shuffle board table when we go. Good little spot for happy hour. I went on trivia night as well which was a lot of fun. Food is typical bar food, great while drinking. I havent sat in the dine-in restaurant portion yet.

A solid go to for my brothers and I! Firkin is one of the best Irish pubs in the area, has a good selection of beers and solid pub food. Its got a solid sports bar reputation. Game room in back with pool tables, air hockey, darts and golden few make it a great place to blow an afternoon

I have to agree with the last poster. The aforementioned bouncer was such a meanie and the vibe i received from the patrons and bartenders were not friendly. I guess not being a TCNJ student is what makes or breaks it at Firkin. Plus the mixed the drinks were watery. I prefer Slocummms

This place has many bar games including giant jenga, 2 pool tables, a few dart boards, shuffleboard, an air hockey table that has seen better days, and some other games. You can usually find a good beer selection, but the service is generally very slow at the bar.

I visited the Firkin Tavern on St. Patricks Day with my son. I find it unprofessional and embarrassing that the bar ran out of Guinness beer at 7:30pm on St. Patricks Day! Someone needs to explain how that happens on the biggest day of the year for them.

Oddly quiet for dinner when we went here in a Tuesday but the food and service were solid. I had the fried pizza burger which was an evil masterpiece! Tater tots werent good but there are a lot of other options you can try. Great beer selection.

Great spot! Nice variety of food to choose from on the menu, didnt look at the alcoholic beverage offering as I was driving a decent distance home. Staff was wonderful and attentive! Id definitely go again.

Divey soccer bar in Ewing, has shuffleboard and a couple pool tables and a few other games. Just got a new bar and TV set up. Cool for happy hour or to grab a drink in the evening. Mix of locals and TCNJ kids.

Food, beer and concept are good. Service is so so. Expect to wait for everything a while. The staff works hard but I think the issue is theyre simply understaffed. Recommend the Sheppards pie.

Best fish tacos I have ever had! Our waitress was so sweet and helpful. Also make sure you get the ridiculous mac and cheese. You wont be disappointed with either of these two dishes. YUM O!

You can get a semi-private area with one large table for your meetup group by making a reservation in advance. Great draught beer selection for those with educated palates.
