The place is very clean, despite having lots of people. They were very cordial and their recommendations were correct. It is a typical American breakfast place, like at home. The food can be described as complex in flavors, the dish I ate called "Burning love Benny", is the combination of all the flavors, including the spicy Buffalo sauce, that they make. Great blueberry hotcakes, except for that flavor of the raw flour, very pronounced, possibly the product of making the mixture all together, that is, without first mixing the solid and the liquid apart and then everything. But, really very good. The service was quick and as I mentioned, very familiar, made me feel like a real family.

Me and my friends decided to go out to a cute little diner. We were cruising down Potomac avenue when we saw the dor-stop diner. We decided to go in. When we walked in there was cute little wooden booths and tables. We were put in a little booth. As the waitress took our drinks we were excited as we heard many positive things about this place. People really hype this place up. But we were sorely mistaken. I will go order by order. My one youngest friend ordered the egg combo with bacon, scrambled eggs, and chocolate chip pancakes. Her bacon was RAW. Her Eggs were BLAND. Her pancakes were HARD. She rated her order a 1.275/10. My other older friend got the meat lovers omelette with home fries and toast. Her omelette had no cheese. Her home fries were bland and plain with no salt or anything. Her toast was great. But how hard can it be to toast some bread and slap some butter on it. She rated her meal 3/10. FINALLY. I got the potato pancake breakfast. The potato pancakes were decent. The eggs I ordered were supposed to be over MEDIUM. Which means. Whites 100% cooked with yellow runny. NOOOO. They gave me RUNNY WHITE AND YELLOW EGGS. GROSS. And also my bacon was RAW!!! I rate it 0/10. The price for these disgusting meals was outrageous. WE PAYED 40 DOLLARS AND TIPPED 5!!!!!!!! It must be on Potomac avenue because they must have smoked pot before serving this foul food. We had to go get donuts after because we were all gagging from the food. DO NOT GO. Not to mention the streets were filled with people running a marathon. It gave me PTSD from running laps and passing out LAST WEEK!!!!!!! Nobody wants to see sweaty old men and women (some of them jiggly) run and torture their 10 year old kids by running. It was HORRID. DO NOT RECCOMEND. DONT GO.

Ahh, Guy Fieri, youve led me astray. The food at The Dor-Stop Restaurant is solid but unimpressive. My vegetarian Jumbot came out with the cheese looking decidedly congealed (it was, I watched the dish sit under the warming station for 10 minutes.) Spicy? Not particularly. The pumpkin pancakes had good flavor, but were doughy and undercooked. Service can make up for a multitude of food sins. Unfortunately, here it didnt. The service, at least on my visit, was obviously from the culture of "No." Me: Hi, can you serve the Jumbot as a burrito? (Same basic ingredients as the burrito). Server: No. Me: Ok, how about a side of pierogies? Server: No. Thats only for the special. Service efficiency was also lacking. 25 minutes to get an order of pancakes? Good bye Dor-Stop. I wont be returning.

I will never, ever understand the excitement over this place. Ive been twice and will never waste my time or money again. Food is mediocre at VERY BEST. Certainly over-priced, too. I got a $10 Chicken Salad: huge, unmanageable hunks of lettuce with gritty bits of sand still mixed in, chopped tomato and green pepper, bland chicken and frozen fries topped with cheese. No onions...no flare to take it above something I could have whipped up in my own kitchen for $5 with twice the flavor. Our waitress was miserable, to boot. Lethargic and making it abundantly clear that she had no interest in serving...better try a different industry, babe! (Tipped her 20% through gritted teeth-- gave her the benefit of the doubt that she was having an awful day.)

I had the “Burg’s Best” CHIC O’ PHILLY HOAGIE with sweet potato fries. The chicken cheese steak was so delicious. The fries however tasted like maybe they were cooked in oil that was a little old. But still everything was very good. My husband had a burger that came with I think feta cheese. Anyways what ever kind it was he said it was one of the tastiest burgers he ever had. Our kids opted for the breakfast menu. They had the pancakes and they were the size of the plate. They were HUGE! But they really liked them. The service was fairly good, not the best but certainly not the worst. The prices I think are right in line with places that are similar to the Dor Stop. All in all I would go here again in a heart beat.

Just came home from the Dor-Stop. Had been there for breakfast once before and it was ok... nothing memorable. Decided to have a meatloaf sandwich, gravy on the side, with fries this time. I chose this because it was under the "Favorites" section of the menu. I received a very unimpressive looking, and even more unimpressive tasting sandwich with mushy meatloaf. The gravy was obviously canned or some sort of instant preparation and I was thankful that I ordered it on the side. The fries were ok. I expected something more than a floppy meatpaste on plain white bread. Particularly because the have an personalized autographed poster of Guy Fieri on the wall. I guess he didnt try the meatloaf.

This place is highly over-rated. Their potatoes and hash-browns are quite tasteless. They arent willing to make an substitutions to the menu, even if you have a dietary restriction, you just end up eating the cost on the bacon or wheat product that you dont want/cant eat. The place is VERY popular though, so good news, you also get to stand outside in the heat and wait to be seated. Theyre riding the advertisement they got for being on tv with Guy from Food Network. Its got that small time/family owned business feel, lots of shouting from the wait staff and cooks, if youre into that kind of thing. Its fairly loud. Oh, theyre also really pro-god and have signs that reflect as much.

A little local place for great food and great service. Their menu has all the favorites, as well as some interesting bites that are sure to become favorites the first time you try them (I could eat their Raspberry French Toast every day.) To top it off, theyre always changing up their menu with daily specials if you want to mix things up. This place is definitely a cornerstone of the Dormont community, and worth the ride if you live on the other side of the city.
