I have been to almost all the Indian restaurants in Philly and suburb and I frequently visit these.King of Tandoor has been the best and has authentic taste(that we get in India).I will not say that it is perfect but it is the best available in the area. Chef/Mgmt seem to know the diff, between various items when it comes to ingredients.Normally when you go to some place they do not know what the diff is between curry, masala, bhuna or Korma but these folks know. To be fair, I would say that I have tried Lamb bhuna and Lamb Achrai and I found them to be very very delicious and also they have authentic Indian taste. One thing which I do not like about this place is that, they have item for Achar separately which is $2.95, which is outrageous. Similarly they have Raita for $2.95, which also is outrageous. These items should either be included in meal or if they want to charge, it should be say under 50 cents..

The worst experience ever!!! The food was really bad and when we mentioned to the manager that the gravy was watery and had no spices, he started telling us that you shouldnt have eaten 2 spoons of it if it was bad!!!! I mean seriously thats what you are gonna tell us???? I urge all my fellow foodies please dont go to this shitty place. The service is bad and the food is the worst part of it.. (I am an indian so i know how indian food tastes and this was the shittiest ever) Such restaurants should be closed immediately!!! you take money from customers to provide good food and decent service and if you cannot provide that, then you have no right to be in business!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

King of Tandoor is one of the best indian restaurants Ive eaten at. I grew up in San Francisco Bay Area, where there are an ample selection of indian restaurants. The food at King of Tandoor is right up there with some of the best places Ive been in SF. The staff is very friendly and personable making the overall experience one I will keep coming back to. I definitely would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for quality indian food in the Philadelphia area.

100% would say no. The restaurant owner was rude and so was the waiter. They never once smiled instead they began arguing with us on how many dishes we had to order. We asked for something as simple as iced water and their response was "you shouldve said that earlier". We ordered three dishes to begin with and they said w head to order more. As customers I dont think the waiter should be telling me how many dishes to order. WOULD NOT RECCOMEND.

Food is always fresh and prepared too order. Breads are very good, not the best in the whole wide world, but well above average. Vegetable dishes are clean - good flavors, nothing floating in cheap oil that yields a stomach ache post-meal, and portion sizes are deceivingly ample. Excellent Saag paneer. Chicken vindaloo was undercooked and under spiced. Wait staff is not arrogant - unless youre a schmuck of a customer.

About a year ago this place was tolerable, but within the past 6 months weve had two terrible take out orders. The first was a cold and nasty vegetable korma. The second was an order of saag paneer that was much more like a green giant package of creamed spinach. Take the time (read: its worth the wait) and order from Ekta. And lastly, as it was once infamously quoted this place is a "dump of the highest order."

I made a delivery order today. 15 minutes later they called me telling me that they cant deliver to where i live because its too far, even though its not really far (5 mins away) and they delivered to me many times before. When i told him that you always deliver to me, he said he will deliver it if i tipped him $20 (thats almost 50%). That is bullsh*t

GREAT FOOD. Great classy atmosphere. Some of the best Indian Ive ever had. I ordered the lamb somosas, Lamb tiki massala, and garlic naan. They were all delicious. The only reason I didnt give 5 stars is because the waiter was pushy with the menu and looked like he was trying to "sell" us more food than we wanted. Otherwise, it was great!

Great halal Indian restaurant. We ordered the Chicken Tandoori which was delicious & perfectly cooked. The Lamb dumpukht was awesome. The aaloo matar Gobi curry was just average. The boiled rice was a little weird. The naans were good. Overall would definitely recommend this place and would return again.

Very classy and fancy decor. The food was the best indian food i have ever eaten. The service was excellent, the atmosphere was calm, and even the restrooms were impressively clean and friendly! The price was generally in the 8-13 dollar range so I would say it is definitely worth it to give this a try.

Ordered my food online @ 8:20 and they said the delivery will be made at 9:00PM. The delivery guy came an hour later at about 9:30. The food was very plain, the yogurt was spoiled and had to be thrown away, overall a bad experience. Will never order/eat food from there again.

Do not go to this place. I ordered take out from here for the first time expecting the typical delicious, flavorful dishes Ive had at other Indian restaurants but was SO disappointed by their overpriced, low quality, BLAND dishes. Absolutely awful.

The staff and service were fine. The food was middling to poor--not easy to do with vegetarian dishes, which are generally pretty good no matter the particular restaurant.

We ordered some vegetarian food and none of the dishes that we tried tasted anything like what they should. I have been to way-better Indian restaurants.

Person Picking the phone while ordering itself is rude. So No point writing about quality. First impression itself is worse.

Food, service & atmosphere are all good but price may be a little expensive. Portions could be small but tasty.

Biryani and mulligatawny soup were good. Service was a little erratic. Owner was a little too chatty.
