Ive been meaning to try this chain. It just so happens that I was at an event not too long ago, and they catered from Tiffin for lunch (score!) I thought the food was fairly decent. The catered menu was all vegetarian so I was happy to dive right into all the offerings. I tried their samosa, onion bhaji, dal tadka, channa masala (with butter naan), and gulab jamboon for dessert! All the offerings were fairly decent - general Indian food options. I think they did a good job seasoning the dal tadka and the onion bhaji was a stand out amongst the options (it was all gone by the time it was time for seconds!) The spread also included white rice but I found it unnecessary. The food was hot upon arrival and was able to keep well considering the cold elements (it was an outdoor event with tents.) I wouldve appreciated more options to spice up the food with some chutneys or masala. I cant fault the restaurant since the food was ordered by the event planner. I guess I will just have to visit their city locations and see for myself if there are options amp up the spice: )!

I love the food from this place. It is absolutely delicious. At least, that has been my experience when I have gone into the restaurant and sat down to eat. Delivery, which they offer, is a different story. I called and was told that it was busy and it could be about an hour and a half to an hour and forty five minutes before it was delivered to me. Over two hours and fifteen minutes later I called to inquire about the status of my order and was informed that it would be delivered in about 10-15 more minutes. I cancelled the order because delicious or not, this was not acceptable. Of note, I live two blocks away and just wanted a quiet night in with my lady. Lazy? Yes. But we are all entitled to those days, I believe.

Worst service ever. It was a little after 9 , the kitchen closes at 10 and my boyfriend and I called to see if they were still seating. A manager answered the phone and told us to come in. We made the mistake of going in. The front of the house were fine. The food came out burnt and unflavored. For the 20 minutes we were there the kitchen staff was arguing and throwing pots and pans around. We felt so uncomfortable we asked to have the remainder of our food packed up. While paying our check the kitchen staff exited the building giving us dirty looks. my boyfriend has been a chef in this city for 20 years I have been bartending in this city for 15 years. Neither of us had ever had such a horrific dining experience.

My boyfriend and I used to love Tishan on Broad Street and were sad to see it go. Tiffin is the same owners so one day we decided to check it out. Inside is very nice and the service was nice as well. The food is mediocre. I love real authentic Indian food and I understand this is a toned down version but it was so plain. Its not that it was necessarily bad, it really had almost no flavor. I dont know, maybe if that was my first and only experience with Indian I might have liked it. Id suggest this for those who can not handle any spice and like plain dishes.

The food was incredible! The service was outstanding. This was my first visit at Tiffin Bistro and at any of the Tiffin related restaurants and I will be returning frequently for more. Oh and they deliver! We had the following: Garlic Naan, Chicken Tellicherry Pepper, Chicken Tikka Masala The entrees came with a large bowl of basmati rice along with 3 chutney sauces. I enjoy lots of spice and they provided a side of a hot spice which kicked up the heat level nicely. If you live in the area you must make this a staple of your restaurant rotation. I will.

The food is overpriced and under-spiced. I ordered aloo gobhi, the cauliflower was mushy, the potatoes tasted like they came from a can and there was hardly any flavor. They charge $2 for a tiny serving of Raita (less than 1/4 cup). The "south indian vegetable curry" tastes more like a Thai dish than anything south indian. This place is not authentic and very over priced, there are much better indian restaurants in Philly.

Great atmosphere, wonderful and friendly family service. We ordered a chicken and a lamb entree. Both were full of awesome flavor and tasteful spices, neither too hot (spice). In fact, I asked for a little more "heat" to kick it up. Mom and Son prep and cook in basement, other Son waits and serves. The Naan (garlic bread) was a great compliment. Highly recommend !

I was craving Indian food and my neighbor told me about this place. I got the meal for one, ordered online on my way home from work and it was ready by the time I got there. There was a lot of food for the price, and it was SO good. My only complaint was that it wasnt very hot, so I had to heat it up when I got home. Regardless will definitely be going back again.

Lamb was dry - overcooked. Service was average, nothing special. Chutneys were mediocre, nothing special, either. Only redeeming food was the eggplant appetizer, which was well-prepared, and pleasantly presented. Nothing special; will NOT be back. Too many GREAT restaurants in South Phila, to waste time and money on this barely average place.

Got food delivered, nothing special about food. Very disappointing. The main problem was the way the food was packed, WE SHOULD NEVER PUT HOT FOOD IN PLASTIC CONTAINERS, IT IS BAD FOR HEALTH. This is a known fact. The other thing was there were no spoons plates or napkins. Please improve the food and delivery.

I ordered delivery via the Tiffin website and NEVER received my food. I contacted the restaurant several times and was told that they would give me a full refund. Its been 2 weeks since I was promised a refund and I have not received it yet. Also, the food is totally mediocre.

Im not sure if this place changed hands, but the food was better than the last time I ate there. Another change is that there is no longer an alcohol menu so it is BYOB. The saag paneer is my favorite here but the Tandoori chicken was really flavorful and juicy.

Very good Indian food here. The staff is super friendly and the place is very clean. The plates are very delicious and the prices are very easy on the wallet. Try to stop by here if youre in the area and craving some good delicious Indian food.
