Worst/Scariest dining experience of our lives. Recently me and bunch of friends traveled down to Gettysburg to celebrate the marriage of another friend and were looking for a place to eat in the morning. When we found West Side Diner we saw reviews were generally good and wed rather support a local business then eat at a chain... BIG mistake. Upon finally getting our drinks our plus size waitress very rudely asked what we wanted to eat - and thats when it happened. As we proceeded to give her our orders in a counter clockwise fashion my one friend from across the table ordered his out of turn. Big Betty (our waitress) slammed down her notepad and actually screamed at him in a quiet diner full of people.. And Im not exaggerating. She went on about it too, "You will wait your God damn turn next time I ask you what you want for your breakfast." At first we glanced at each other thinking it was a joke, but nope. As I looked over to the kitchen the two other staff members were laughing! We were too taken off to do anything so we had our food which was actually pretty decent. It wasnt until the end she looked at me and said "Im sorry, its been a long day." It was 11 oclock in the morning and they open at 7?

Horrible from the moment we sat down. First off we placed our drink orders the girl that took our order was very nice best one there ! We recieved our coffees no silverware and a different waitress takes our order no silverware ok we get food let me say it looked good excited to try it. Still no silverware finally asked for some the waitress said we are out of silverware we dont have enough we have to wash some !!!! Excuse me how can you run a business like that ???? 5 min later get silverware . Food now colder first bite was definitely the saying looked better than it tasted. Pepper and salt didnt even help the homefries. Eggs were slimy. Toast was barely buttered only in the middle. Scrapple was decent. Pancake for my son was ok. Omlet was thin and smaller than what i expected for 3 omlet. Sat the whole time no refils and froze. Horrible would not recommend this place.

We went there for the first time last week. The place is very small and cramped. One waitress gave us menus and didnt even offer us a high chair for our baby. Then the waitress handed us over to a different older waitress who was VERY friendly and offered us a high chair and all. The food was ok, a lot of "filler" potatoes but our omelettes were good. Our drinks were warm oj and warm milk, not so great. Our food took quite a long time to come out, and personally I could make the food myself faster and better. The price was a bit ridiculous for 2 omelettes and drinks it was a little over $20.00. I personally would just skip this and make my own breakfast for cheaper.

Good food! Consider these things when coming to this resturant for the 1st time. Ambiance? No, not really, Ill visit some shops on the main street to get the ambience. Staff was nice and tentative, the food is home style and they didnt mess it up, it was good. I tried something different with my breakfast called Scrapple and although I didnt particularly care for it there is no ding to the restaurant everything was good and Scrapple may simply be an acquired taste, however I am glad I ordered and tried it. Prices are very reasonable.

Just as good as Perkins or Dennys but for half the price. Perfect if you have a large party or a bunch of kids. It was an easy and quick meal, and we got to get out and get to the site seeing that we came here for. 100% recommended! (Dave A. had to point out his waitress was "plus sized". What does that matter other than what kind of person he is? And this is the only review he has posted as of 12/4/2016, which makes me wonder who he is and what his intentions are, perhaps a competitor?)

Very disappointing. Food was below average. Cold. Probably microwaved. Waitress was nice. The lady behind my booth kept banging our mutual back rest. I had to read a couple of bible verses to keep from smacking the hell out of her. The place was a real low class dive. Prices were good though. I definitely wont go back or recommend it.

Hit this place up as I like the good old American diner experience for breakfast. The weather was aweful this day so they had just opened, but serve breakfast all day. Very friendly staff, prompt service. Had the ham steak with eggs and it did not disappoint. Had some sausage gravy with it and it was just all good.

We walked in the restaurant and it smelled so bad we had to leave before we even saw a menu. Funny thing is: we ended up at West Side Diner because of a five-star Google Review! Two morals here: 1) dont eat at a place that smells like rat droppings and 2) dont trust GoogleReview (other than this one).

Weve gone for breakfast twice. The waitress is so friendly. The best waffle I ever had! I asked for crisp bacon and I got crisp bacon! Also...they had scrapple! Yum! My friends eggs were done perfectly and they added onions to her hash browns when she asked for them. Well be back!

By far the best place to eat in Gettysburg. We are new to the area, and all the locals told us we had to try it. They have made us feel welcomed since the first time we walked in. They are great people with AMAZING food. We eat there a few times a week.

We ate here and the food was great! Better than the Lincoln, they were going through some changes at the time. Wish they listed their hours on here and what time breakfast ends.

It may look small and humble but this little diner has a huge heart. My wife and I had the best breakfast in a long time here and the prices are amazing.
