Out of all the many places Ive eaten around the world, this is definitely the #1 worst. Ive never left a bad review, but this place was SO AMAZINGLY bad, I had to post in order for the owners to either FIX things or to WARN the public. I took my family here on July 3rd, 2017 around 11:30PM when all other restaurants had closed. We ordered carry out and waited on our food since we brought our dogs with us to Gettysburg. It took 2 hours and 18 minutes to get our bags. The waiter was a mess, rushing around. He told us the cook shut off the grill which caused the delay, but to me that didnt seem to make sense. Maybe the cook quit and he was trying to do it all. Back at the hotel, we opened the food, and it was horrible. No salt, no seasoning, and extremely overcooked. My wife and MIL ordered medium-rare steak breakfast meals. The steaks resembled very thin, burnt, beef jerky, with 50% fat. The eggs were well done and the potatoes were gray and strange. I ordered a gyro, and was told 90 minutes later, they were out of gyro meat. I replaced it with a hamburger (same as my son), which was shy of a McDonalds single, with twice the bun and cooked twice as long. In fact, it was so overcooked, I couldnt bite it off or chew it, so it ALL was thrown out. About $80 was totally wasted. I wouldve rather donated it to the poor. When you are open 24hrs, and serve food, people expect just that. You cant short-cut to save a buck and expect it to be acceptable, it is not! We work just as hard for our money. If I sold a $80 bicycle and delivered a pile of rusted, twisted metal, you would expect a refund. Selling food does not grant a free excuse to serve any trash without consequences.

Terrible service. Very disorganized. After one waitress took our order another one came and gave us menus and then took our drink order again because the other one forgot. We had to ask for silverware twice. They tried to take our food to the wrong table. We got chips when we asked for fries. Cole slaw was drowning in sauce. Waitress thought red beets were harvard beets. Milkshake wasnt mixed up at all. Floors in the kitchen area were very dirty and unkempt (from the small amount you can see from the dining area). It took forever to get the bill. We will NOT be coming back here. There are plenty of other excellent restaurants in Gettysburg. Do not waste your time here.

This was the worst dining experience my fiance and I have ever had. The coffee was like water, the knife the guy gave me had dried food on it, he brought me a slice of cantaloupe which had a mold spot on it... My fiance ordered a sausage omelette was told they do not have sausage omelets so he ordered Ham and cheese with home fries, when the food arrived the omelet was super salty and when he took a bite of homefries he instantly spit them out onto his plate (and he will literally eat anything)!!! said they tasted like watered down potato chips... Worst experience ever!!!!!!!!!! We ended up eating McDonalds instead...

I ordered the 4 piece fried chicken dinner special. All 4 pieces together couldnt have had more than 3 ounces of meat. It was closer to the size of a Cornish hen than a normal chicken. I have never seen one that small. In addition, it was VERY overcooked and dry. They were out of the side dishes I wanted (and it was only 6PM). The only thing that saved the meal was the fact that the chicken so funny.. I snapped a photo of my husband holding the minuscule drumstick. I dont know if this is normal fare for the restaurant since it was the first time I went there. On a positive note, the side salad was pretty good.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. Weve been a couple of times and the food is decent. They have re-done their dessert case and the desserts weve had look and taste great. Only 2 negatives that I can say...the last time we tried hamburgers... they tasted very bland - not juicy or very big - mostly bun. The last thing may not matter to some people, but it is no way handicapped accessible. The bathrooms are down two flights of narrow, dark staircases, and you can easily fall. Not good for baby diaper changing, small kids or people not okay with narrow stairs. If not for that, wed give it 5 stars!

This was my second visit to the Lincoln Diner. I remember enjoying the breakfast we had there 10 years ago and our dinner today was just as good. I like that they serve breakfast until 10 PM. The menu offers a good variety of dishes even though I was craving corned beef hash which was not on the menu. The service was friendly and fairly prompt. Parking is limited so I was glad the restaurant was not full. The decor was traditional diner style which I love! No little jukebox on the table, though. Prices for the generous portions were fairly reasonable. I would not hesitate to return.

To put it simply, the Lincoln Diner is a fabulous diner. If you are picky, prissy or insist on only eating at places that look like theyve never been touched, I suggest going elsewhere. This place is old. I call it classic and nostalgic. If you just want good food at a great price with great service and a pleasant atmosphere, this is the place. The breakfasts are great. Late night breakfasts at this place were a staple throughout my high school and college years. Many of the desserts are also excellent and I always enjoyed a nice slice of pie here. Give them a try!

How this place was ever voted #1 at anything is beyond me. I ordered a Rueben sandwich. How hard could that be right? 2 measly pieces of sliced meat & about an inch of sour kraut & dressing. And the meat was so tough that you had to hold it with your fingers while ripping off a bite with your teeth. Seriously like cardboard. I told them to take it away & was not paying for it. They didnt argue. Won;t be going there any more. By the way I am not a tourist. I have lived here my entire life & this diner has had it. Time for someone new & better to occupy that spot.

This place is awful. Everything felt so dirty. I ordered a burger. The bread was 200% larger than the patty, which is a frozen patty, not fresh meat. And it came out med-rare. I dont even know how thats possible. The patty is a half inch thick, its not hard to cook it through. The fries were drenched with fryer oil. The bathrooms reeked of pee. I had to take the top off the soap dispenser to wash my hands. I will never waste my money here again. Terrible! Maybe a visit from the Health Dept is in order.

Typical American diner fare served at a slow pace with no pomp or circumstance. This restaurant seems to rely on the fact that there are limited choices for late-night dining. It appears to have caused some mediocrity in terms of the quality of the ingredients and their care in preparation. I would encourage visitors to stick to the specials as the menu may be a bit too large for the staff to produce all options properly. Also, do not expect a quick meal as the demand here outpaces the staffing.
