Returned to Allentown for a family reunion. At my insistence at least 40-50 of my family members booked an evening dinner in the banquet room at the Brass Rail on Lehigh Street. We paid $14.00 per person. Dont know the final count but there were at least 40 family members and that totals $560.00. For that money we received a steak sandwich which was cold and the rolls were so soggy that the meat fell through the roll. We had to dress our own sandwiches with cold onions set on the table and pickles and peppers. Each person was given one pierogie and some french fries which we arranged not to have in lieu of pierogies. Dessert was chocolate cake that looked good but was like a dry sponge and topped with frosting so sweet, it was inedible. One of our party mentioned to our server that the rolls were soggy and not like the malones rolls we are used to. She insisted they were malones rolls and after checking we learned they indeed were not from malones. Brass Rail, you need to return to malones or at least find a substitute of the same standard. For myself and my family, we have eaten our last Brass Rail steak sandwich after a lifetime of enjoying and patronizing your establishment. Before I left town, I phoned to share what a horrible experience we had. No one so far has returned the call. Very sad, poor management.

Im not so sure what happened, all the reviews to this place seem to be great! I just mustve caught them on a bad day. My waitress, who shall not be named, was a very angry and impatient woman who didnt really seem like she wanted to be there, much less help me or my party when we asked for things. I ordered a rail burger with cheese, and an order of mozzarella sticks. My rail burger came in about 15-17 minutes, without cheese. The mozzarella sticks came in that same timeframe as well, with the sauce cold. When I asked if these things could be rectified, the waitress obliged, but audibly huffed and puffed as she walked away with my meal. Once she returned, I dug into my rail burger. The patties were very unappetizing as they were very rubbery. Also, the bread was soggy as well. I guess it mustve been just a bad day, but I really did not appreciate the rudeness of the woman who served us. I dont think I will be returning here to eat.

We cant say enough good things about the Brass Rails arrangements for my parents 50th anniversary party banquet. The banquet management team helped us work through all the decisions that we needed to make and were able to accommodate our seating arrangements, recommend a local bakery, and show us where we could cut a few costs. The friendly and courteous staff worked to make sure the banquet room was set up nicely, and went out of their way to help some of the less physically able guests. The food was excellent and served promptly, hot from the oven, and the final cost was very reasonable. A few weeks have gone by and guests are still commenting on how wonderful the party at the Brass Rail was. Thanks to Mark, Lee, Dennis, and the management and staff for making this a special and memorable event!!

My grandma absolutely adores this place, and I must admit that it is quite easy to get in and out of. The majority of the people who go here are regulars and we often find ourselves there a couple times a week when we visit. Personally, Im not a huge fan. Every time Ive been here the food seems a bit old, both the steak sandwiches and hot dogs. This particular visit we had sweet potato fries with ranch, which were brought out as an appetizer, though they were ordered with our meal. One thing Brass Rail does have, is great prices! A steak sandwich will cost you under $5, while the dogs are less than $3.

This is not your TGI Fridays or Red Lobster--this is a Great Family restaurant that has a HISTORY. Yes it is old fashioned and cheaper in price but the quality is excellent and the staff is wonderfull. If you become a regular you become a part of the family and it is truly a nice feeling. It is just a great place to take your family, there is not any loud music or obnoxious college kids getting drunk. Your kids can have pizza and hot dogs and your grandparents can have haddock and chopped sirloin--they have it all.

The Brass Rail has the best steak sandwiches on the planet! Have been going there for over 50 years with my husband and his family before we married. Have moved around a bit and it was so nice when a few years ago I found out that they ship the sandwiches. It was a pleasure to order and go back there when we lived in MD , but it is harder now that we are in GA. So glad they still ship. Thank you Brass Rail for always bringing back great food and great memories!

We recently checked the Brass Rail out for breakfast, and now its the only restaurant that we want to go for breakfast. We drive pass 7 other breakfast establishments just for the Brass Rail Cheesesteak Omelet. I have had breakfast in 6 countries, and the Rail tops them all with the Cheesesteak, and taco omelets. The potatoes are diced and golden brown. The staff is friendly and the environment is nice.

“Excellent breakfast buffet” In general breakfast buffets are not my first choice, but I am very glad we made an exception and booked The Dime for breakfast after our daughters wedding. The food was very good and included delicious pastries, fresh fruit and yogurt, oatmeal, french toast, scrambled eggs and two kinds of breakfast meats. The view from the full length windows was...

Bang for the Buck! This place is a deal. The service is always good and the staff very friendly. It is totally outdated in style and looks like a dump from the outside but something about it is relaxing once inside. They have good breakfast food. The bar is not smoky and trashy like so many places I hate. The drinks are a good price and wings are good too.

Its a diner with a bar in it. The prices were fair for the size. The waitress I had was great but not over bearing. The steak sandwich was fine. I might have liked a little more onion mixed in but this was my first one. Never judge any business on just one visit. Everyone was very friendly and when Im in the area Im sure I will go back.

Great service which was a challenge with a large group plus 4 small kids. Sherryle did an amazing job keeping the food and drinks coming. Knowing to help us get in and out. Loved the food and martini special. We are here to visit friends and family but it is defiantly a place we will go back to.
