Pros: - Food is not overly salty, oily, or heavy. Its perfectly seasoned, uses just a normal amount of oil, and tastes very authentic and home-made. - lots of free goods! Ive gone twice and both times weve gotten free soup as an appetizer and free dessert at the end. The free soup was actually quite a large bowl, and while there werent that many items in the soup, the broth tasted quite good. The dessert was a sweet red bean soup with little tapioca balls. It was a bit sweet for me but still a nice treat to cap off a good meal. Cons: - Food is chopped up into huge industrial size pieces, which makes it a little hard to eat. Specific food we got: - on choy (chinese watercress, hollow hearts): very good, not oily, and doesnt seem like they used msg. Crunchy and savory - Fish in clay pot: Lots of huge fish chunks that were very well seasoned. Tofu was a bit bland. - Pepper beef: doesnt taste sickeningly sweet like a lot of other restaurants do. Its very savory and well cooked, although not very peppery at all. It is a bit cornstarch heavy. - Beef stew in clay pot: delicious! Definitely a must try, the beef is so tender and juicy, and the daikon is very nicely cooked (not too mushy, not too crunchy).

I went to Mountain View visited my friend and ate there once. At that time I went there with my toddler. My kid wanted out for play so I went to the casher (or manager) with the kid and paid the bill and when she knew I was not a local person and knew I came from san diego only for a vocation. She charged me much more than the food actual cost and charge me service fee too. And they treat old customers and new customers totally different. (they can tell you are new or not). Ill never go there again.

This is my favorite place to eat Chinese food in the Bay Area. I have been going here for years, even back to their previous location. I value consistency, and they are always good, every time! My recommendations are the Salt and Pepper fish, walnut prawns, chicken chow mein, vegetable fried rice. Pretty much everything is good. They always remember us and our order, and how we like things. Its not overpriced, and their portions are generous! Definitely a family style place!!!

Not sure if we both chose the wrong dishes or what, but we were very disappointed in our food. We did see lots of natives eating there, so I think we just got the wrong thing. I got a dish with oysters in it - yuck, and I love oysters! My husband got something (cant remember what now) that we both ended up eating, since it was at least edible. We wont be dining here again when we come to Palo Alto.

Ive been coming to this restaurant for years. The food is great, and relatively good value. But the service is just really bad. Some of the dishes are must try: Salt and pepper shrimp salt and pepper crispy eggplant tofu pot with bbq duck salt and pepper crab stir fry sticky rice (have peanut but can ask them to take out peanuts) Beef chow fun soysauce chowmein Singapore style stir fry rice stick

They have great stir fry dishes, an excellent fu jian fried rice (with gravy on top), and really great chow fun, though they sometimes run out of the noodles since they special order them from the maker. Portions are generous and well priced, and if you want anything you dont see on the menu, just ask and they can likely make it for you!

I went here for lunch, curious how good the food was. I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the beef chowfun and wanton noodle soup. Even though it was busy, my order came in about 10min of ordering. The beef chow fun wasnt too oily and the soup was delicious. I will be a returning customer.

Food is very fresh, authentic, and very inexpensive -- so $ value high. Food is somewhat bland however hence the "good" rating (but this is to be expected, imo, for Cantonese-style food). Traditional seating - good place for sharing lots of plates w/larger parties.

It was fast friendly and clean.. and the food was really good. They had lemon chicken... Instead of usual orange Chicken wich is what we usually have... we loved it! they even brought us free tapioca cup to sample which was amazingly good too... Not too sweet.

Good: the price, the size of the dishes. Bad: Service is rude! Food is OK but with no character or flavor. 4 people eat 4 main dishes, with 2 soft drinks. Came up to $56. There was enough food to take home. But! the food was bland and boring..

For my first time there I have to say that it was really enjoyable! The staff are super nice and the food was delicious. Its difficult to find authentic asian restaurants these days, but Im glad I stumbled upon this one!

Home style Chinese good at its best!! Food was very tasty (without MSG), service was excellent - courteous and fast, and portions were perfect. To get the best variety, groups larger than 4 will benefit.

Very standard Americanized Chinese food. Exactly what youd expect. The food is good, but does not defy expectations in any particular way. The dining room is bright and big and the service is pretty quick.

Pick up my oder for take out. Pork fried Rice was really good. Sweet and sour chicken was not that great. Egg rolls are too small for that high price. House chow mein is OK.

It is a great casual dinning option for family. My 6 year old and 3 year old like their noodles and fried rice. They love the daily soups and sweat bean soup which are free.

Lunch special is fantastic. They are very very fast. Always busy but never too crowded. The food is great. You get a small bit of an entree dish, white rice, and a small soup.

Try their wor/wanton soup you gonna like it as we do and crispy fried chicken . Not to mention my picky eater coworker he likes the food when we went there to have lunch .

Food is a bit americanized but still acceptable for Chinese folks. Crispy Hong Kong noodles are always good. They often give you free soup and/or dessert. Decent service.

Good Cantonese food. I did takeout recently. Won ton soup with many large tasty wonton, and the black bean beer chow fun. Both were very good

Nice lobster and noodles (a bit too oily for the noodles). Nice soup, dessert on the house. Nice vegetables of big serving. Nice service.

Their generous use of salt in almost every dish is not appreciated by my stomach. But their Peking duck was super delicious
