The inside looks nicer than we expected (for years, this place had peeling paint on the outside, but has recently been re-painted). The owner/host was very attentive to our needs. We ordered the Garlic-Ginger Chicken and one of the combination dinners (Almond Chicken, Fried Shrimp, Fried Rice, S&S Pork). The Garlic/Ginger Chicken is excellent - just that perfect combination of sweet/spicy. That said, the combination items were all very "average," so for now this gets a "just okay" rating from us. We really did not care for the egg flower soup (I dont believe hot & sour is an option here). Overall, we had a nice evening, the service was great, but if I go back, Ill avoid the combination meals and just order an entree, and Ill avoid the soup unless they have something other than egg flower.

NO. just no. Good service, bad food. They were nice enough and got my order right but the food was almost flavorless. I got the gravy on the side for the egg foo yung and it had no flavor at all. I ate the patty only because I was very hungry. I was good with the flavor of the chow mein and they did separate out the noodles for the to go order so they wouldnt be soggy (nice touch) BUT they only gave me about a quarter cup of noodles and when I bit into the water chestnut it was rotten. Not a little off, rotten. not going back

Its not that its a bad place to eat because the food is great. My concern is accessibility for wheelchairs. Its very hard to manuver one through there. Then theres the staff. Dry, distant and straight out unfriendly. Nothing I could have said or done would have cracked a smile on their glum faces. Trust me, I politely tried. Personally I cant take my Mother there again. With that being said, dont think that my experience will be your experience. Like a stated earlier, the food is tastey.

We eat here quite a bit and sometimes pick up food to go. It is a family run restaurant, the staff is always very nice and you get steaming hot towels at the end of your meal. The food is made fresh and you can taste the difference! The portions are large and very affordable. You may not like the way the outside looks but it is well worth stopping in.

I gave them 5 stars because they have very good food. Their honey chicken is unlike any other chicken Ive had from other chinese rest. I especially like their house fried rice. Its a small place under-staffed, but they manage it well and make good food. Its also located one block from my house. I would put it as number 3 on my top 5 list in Salem.

Spaghetti noodles instead of lo mien and pretty below average food. Service was next to absent as we had to go look for someone to even refill waters. They took orders, then brought out food one person at a time, then disappeared for the rest of our meal. I wouldnt give it another try.

Ordered take out. Took one bite, food so bad had to have been left overs from a few days. Attempted to take good back. They refused to return money. Left without food or money. Will not go back. If you want day old food eat there. I will not be back.

Food was decent, just not very Authentic. I wanted egg foo young, but its pre made, so you cant order it to your liking. So, I ordered sesame chicken, while it was OK, the sauce was separate from the chicken, which I found wierd.

Too much salt and a strong chemical taste in most of the food. Fried rice was more like steamed rice with vegetables in it. Sweet and sour was good. Small shrimp with lots of batter. Too cramped, too many tables for such a small area.

Wonderful family-owned business. Food is very authentic - which probably throws people off who are used to American-ized Chinese food. Dishes are fresh and flavorful and the staff are very attentive. A great dining experience!

Ive been coming here for years. Its a small family-run place, very relaxed, and it has been my familys favorite local Chinese resturant for years. Very reasonable, good value, great for take-out. -- Lenore.

Ive been here once (friends warned me though) and Ill never go back. The food had absolutely no taste and the waitress ignored us while we were there. There are a lot better Chinese restaurants in town.

Its good, however not so good when using top ramen in dishes. Could be better is top ramen was not in the dishes.

BBQ pork is excellent..but the fried shrimp is always overcooked and dry. Good service and portions.

Its serviceable, kind of "middle-of-the-road," as far as Chinese food goes.
