I have been eating here since I moved to Salem at the age of 10, thats 16 years. This place has had ups and downs seemly based on new chefs or owners.. which ever.. the second to last time I went my friends food was cold. It appeared to be reheated, she was so upset biting into cold general tso chicken.. and I dont blame her. Though this place has always been my favorite!!! But the very last time I went with two friends. Two out of our 3 dishes were covered AND I MEAN covered in hair. Like the chef had just gotten a hair cut and it was on his clothes and it fell into the food. We got up and left. I write this to warn people that right now its on a downhill slide.. Ive loved this place for so long..

Started out with a roach in the soup. Progressed to a metal scrub in the sub gum for which I was told it was from the cleaning scrubby therefore it was clean and the food was ok to still eat. To the last and final straw was biting into the kung Pao to end up with a roach antenna in my teeth. I dont want to think about where the roach went. 4/6 of us got horribly sick and after no resolve only bad attitude from the owner. We reported to the health department and ended our faithful weekly dining 13 year relationship with Blue Willow. Saddest day for my children.

My family has been eating here 20 yrs and ive always loved their food however tonight we got our order to go and its one of the worst meals ive ever eaten. The pork fried rice was dry brown rice no veggies, egg or pork,the sweet n sour chicken was just deep fried chicken w/ some sweet n sour sauce on the side and the bbq pork has always been the best,not this time,it was over cooked and very dry.whole meal was nasty. Must be under new owners cause it was a real bad meal. Wont be eating here again any time soon

I love it here. Always getting really, really low prices with huge portions. By huge portions, I mean enough to eat lunch for several days without being hungry afterward. The people are wonderful. The food is great. Yes, the building does look a little run down, BUT it has that authentic Chinese appeal to it that only Chinese owners could give it. Not like the Americanized shops that try to incorporate both US-Chinese culture. So, I cant even say it looks bad. It looks natural.

So, first time and definately last time we order. Sweet and sour chicken, asked for sweet and sour sauce on side. It came on the chicken and came very very soggy. Also got some on the side, but what was the point. Pot stickers, no pot sticker sauce??? Doesnt pot stickers always come with sauce?? Guess not.....hmmmm.....we usually go to china faith, but they were closed for the holiday. Next time we will order pizza and wait for chinese when china faith isnt on vacation!!

I must begin by saying that the lunch and even dinner prices are affordable. When you are served your meal you get a heaping mountain of food. (as for me, i never can eat it all and i have enough for a few more meals) thats always a plus! The servers are not very friendly, its difficult for some of them to get your order right and they have a strong accent so it makes it difficult to understand what theyre saying.

You get what you pay for, and theyre even generous enough to add some complimentary food poisoning. The establishment isnt clean (had a roach guide me from the cash register out the door and the place smells of old frying oil), the staff get into aguements in plain sight and some arent verry friendly towards customers, some of the food tasted re-heated. The thought of eating this food again makes me nauseated.

Our family favorite for Chinese food. This family of ladies that run the front of restaurants are very nice understand and speak English in a multi level depending on what ladie server you get. You can always request another like at any restaurant. These ladies are good to us always. My family of 5 eats for $30 we drink the tea and a water. Soda spoils the food experience. Large portions.

I just started working here as a bartender and I think the owners here are great and they serve wonderful hot large portions for a very decent price and I enjoy that egg flower soup pretty much Ive tried everything I think their food is great.. if youre not looking for food come check out the bar great friendly people best prices on drinks happy hour from 4 for until closing

Blue willow used to be really decent, but since the sister took over, the cooks have gotten lazy. Mediocre food abounds now. Their lunch and dinner specials are mushy and lack flavor, and their special order items are poorly made. The decore is old and poorly kept, and wait staff is surley at best. They get two stars for fond memories from years ago.

I heard that this place was okay and read the reveiws so I was skeptical when my husband and I decided to dine there. The interior could use some fixing but honestly they give the biggest proportions ever. I thought the food tasted well and I definitely eat here again. Brought the leftovers home and it fed the rest of the family.

One of my favorite places in town, while yes its nothing super special, its consistent. The staff is always attentive although sometimes lacking smiles. Food quality is pretty good, prices are very good for the portion. I have gone to this place for over 15 years and will continue to go now. My children both enjoy it as well.

Chinese food served hot and stayed hot with the China plates which came hot as well. The food is great and the amount of food delivered is always more than you can eat. They also provide take out with the same large portions. Great service by waiters and staff. Highly recommend. Full 5 star+

This is so nasty.. Today i went to buy some food and it literally was full of hairs.. The lady there was looking at my head like if she was trying to blame me for all those hairs on the food.. Most likely will not be buying from here ever again ..

Its hard to tell what will be good or gross, the vegetable chicken combos have a lot of bean sprout and onion which is kinda gross, the hot and sour soup is really good and a medIm bowl is reasonably priced for how big it is. Just be careful haha

Waited 40 minutes for food and when it arrived it was cold. The people at the table next to us left because they had the same experience, when the waitress was informed of the issue she was rude and argued with them before taking the food back.

The food was terrible! It tastes old like they made it the day before or somthing. The rice tastes like plactic qnd the sweet and sour chicken is ok. I do not recommend this to anyone the restaurant was dirty and the food tastes horrible!

Great portions, and great taste. If you love Americanized Chinese food, and you are really hungry, definitely check this spot out. Love the orange, and generals chicken. My favorite americanized Chinese food restaurant.
