I use reviews as a reliable source for trying new places, and normally I am not disappointed. Tonights experience at The Best Little Roadhouse was beyond unsatisfactory, and I dont see myself ever trying this place again. I usually enjoy an environment like the one at the roadhouse, loud and busy. However, tonight because of my experience with the food and service the noise was just an irritating addition. I honestly dont understand the good reviews, way to full parking lot, long wait for service and food, and high prices, all things expected at a quality restaurant. This is no way was an experience where I saw reason for any of those things. The food, once we finally got it was subpar at best. My partners Salmon was lackluster, definitely not worth the $17.00. My burger was priced fairly, for what I honestly believe was Applebees quality. We ordered our appetizer before our entrees, and did not get it until after we got our main course and had to remind our server. To top it all off, we were actually charged for the appetizer. (We didnt eat any of it, because it was disgusting, otherwise it would have went to a hungry homeless person on our way home). Our server paid for it though, because we did not leave a tip. I would never think of not tipping normally, as I understand that mistakes are made and tips are a persons livelihood but this mistake was handled very poorly. So if you want a mediocre meal, slow service, and an extremely loud environment, this is your place.

Im not quite sure how this place has a 4 star rating considering how utterly inedible their food is. We tried it one time nearly a year ago. As others have mentioned, parking is kind of a nightmare and that only scratches the surface of the fun youre about to have. The acoustics inside are so deafening that it nearly gave me a migraine trying to have a conversation with my husband. I remember ordering a hamburger of some sort and that started with a salad. The salad was edible and whatever dressing the waiter surprised me with was tasty but that was the end of the edible items. Literally, we threw away 85% of our entrees, they were that bad and inedible. As I recall, the hamburger I had was overcooked, dry as a desert, flavorless and just overall disgusting. We jokingly refer to it as "Salems Worst Little Roadhouse Ever" whenever we drive by it. Horrible. Atrocious. Revolting. Disgusting. Never, ever going back.

Husband and I stopped by here today for lunch. I ordered the nachos and he had the taco salad. Our service was terrific; our server was attentive despite the fact that he was really busy. The atmosphere was pleasant and our food presented very attractively. I was going to share some of Husbands salad, but it was so spicy there was no way I could eat it. Same thing with the pico de gallo. I ate about half the nachos and we brought the rest home. They were okay, but not very cheesy. I wished Id ordered the potato skins instead. The rolls were fabulous and served warm along with wonderful honey butter. We were only in Salem for a few hours; we dont get down there very often. I dont think well go back here, though. The prices were kinda high for what we got. The best parts of the meal were our server and the rolls.

I was surprised to find out dinner salad was not included in a nesrly $25 steak dinner, but still ordered one and so did my husband. Was shocked that i was charged 99 cents for garlic potatoes and my husband neal was also 99 cents more for loaded backed potatoe. We were asked if we wanted them when we ordered. But never told there would be an additional charge. I guess i felt like they want to nickle and dime everything. What ever happened to complementary dinner salads? And why would they ask if you want garlic and cheese on mashed potatoes, without telling me there was an extra charge? Same with the baked potatoe, he asked for baked potatoe and she asked what he wanted on it and started naming off things he said he liked everything. No mention of extra charge. Sorry Roadhouse! We wont be back.

We found this place thanks to good reviews here on Google Maps as were traveling through OR. The good reputation is well founded now that weve made a visit. Our order was the rib + prime rib combo, the caesar salad with salmon, and some beer and drinks. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality of all the items. Pork ribs were fall off the bone tender, prime rib was melt in your mouth, the salmon was moist with a hint of smoke. I dont know how they pull off the quality, the portion size, for the price. Our two dishes made for a great dinner and a generous breakfast as well. Sure, the place looks like a chain brewery type place, we thought that is was still cozy enough, but the food is a cut above. BLRH is a no-brainer when youre in Salem, OR. Jacko

This place is always jam packed! But well worth it, their yeast rolls are soft fresh and to die for, added with that yummy honey butter you will be in heaven. The staff is always so helpful and very accommodating. I have certain allergies and they always accommodate me far and above here. There is a great outdoor putt putt golf area and great outdoor seating. The only issues you should be ready for when going here is playing parking war..lol becuase of its location and high demand you will need to be creative when looking for a spot. Trust me through when I say it is all worth it! If you are not in the mood to fight the crowd for the taste of amazing food just order to go by calling and just pull up and grab and go.

Ordered 1 dozen rolls for pick up. Was told on the phone they would be ready in 30 minutes. Figured it would be busy (given it was Easter Sunday), so I showed up about 30 - 35 minutes after the call. Sat in their lobby for 55 minutes waiting on the order. Another woman who came in about 35 minutes after me was given her ribs at half price by mgmt for her long wait. Kinda annoying when Id been sitting across from her, and been there significantly longer. The bread is delicious, and had they given me a longer estimated wait time on the phone, I wouldnt be upset. Wont be doing that again.

This is a good restaurant. The meat is good and the service is friendly if a little slow at times (we were there when it was pretty busy). The restaurant can get very loud, as the walls and floor and ceiling are all made of hard materials which do not lend themselves to a quiet environment. This being said, this place is a step above similar "chain" style restaurants like applebees or a steak franchise. A good restaurant for a dinner with family or friends that isnt too expensive, and you get a decent value for your money.

I called two weeks in advance to make a reservation for a Friday night. I was told they did not take reservations after 6pm but I was assured by two different people they would be able to accommodate my party. Needless to say when I got there there wasnt any parking let alone space in the restaurant for my group. Instead my group had to travel all around Salem in a convoy trying to find a place to eat. They shouldve just been honest with me from the beginning.
