My daughter wanted to take me here for Mothers Day on 5/10/15 and it was overpriced to begin with. The two female servers stared at customers as they ate at their tables and seemed to make fun them. There was an overweight customer that kept going back for more that they pointed and laughed at. Then the bill was placed on our table while we were still eating and it was for $26.00, tip not included. We only ordered a glass of water with the buffet. When I asked for a receipt, the server shook her head and brought me the bill again. So, I told her I already paid and needed a receipt showing I paid. She gave me a cold stare and said, "I cant believe this" and walked off to complain to the guy at the front register. When she passed by, she slapped the receipt on the table and said something in her language. I found this to be very rude and uncalled for. My husband is very influential in his work and has encouraged and supplied many customers over the years for business relations. Needless to say, it will stop now and we will not endorse this restaurant anymore. The food was terrible anyway. Disgusting display of service! Please save for money for better food and better customer service. If you have been here before, take note of the servers and blatant disrespect they have for their customers!

I cant even begin to describe how bad this buffet was. Everything was dry and/or overcooked. The lo mein tasted like it had absorbed way too much liquid and was mushy. Anything chicken that I tried (sweet and sour, chicken wing, teriyaki chicken, honey chicken, general tsos, & chicken and broccoli) had a funny sort of rancid smell and tasted like it was on the verge of rotting. The fried rice was was mushy and tasteless. The only positive thing I have to say about this place is that the sweet and sour sauce was some of the best Ive ever tasted.... if only there was something edible to dip into it. Otherwise I couldnt finish a single thing I collected on my plate. I really tried to find anything good here, taking extremely small portions of a variety of different things since I was hungry and we were paying for it... but literally anything either my husband or I tried was inedible. We left after paying for $16 worth of garbage food and a glass of pepsi. Weve both felt queesy all day and I keep burping the taste of rancid chicken. Needless to say I wont be returning and my hunt for a decent chinese buffet in Columbus continues. I dont normally leave reviews but this was so bad that Id hate for anyone else to waste the money on it.

This place has excellent value and always has excellent service. My boyfriend and I go there weekly, for lunch. I believe the lunch price is around 6.79 a person ( dont quote me on it, but Im pretty sure), and with tax our total is always 14.50 + tip. My favorite item there is Peanut Butter Chicken. It is strips of chicken breast with a light crispy batter, coated in a sweet peanut butter sauce. It is like gold! Other items usually on the buffet tables include Coconut Shrimp, Garlic Chicken, Chicken with Broccoli, Black Pepper Steak with mushrooms, Honey Chicken, Jalapeno Chicken, General Tsos, Sweet and Sour Chicken, Steak with onions and green pepper, and of course peanut butter chicken. Also a couple other miscellaneous items that I cant remember. Then on the second table there is 2 or 3 soups, asian noodles, egg rolls, crab rangoon, garlic bread, chicken wings, wontons, fried dumplings, fried chinese donuts, and another one of my favorites, fried cupcakes. The next table has salad, sushi, fruit, jello, etc. The desserts include ice cream, peanut sweet, and a couple chinese cakes/cookies. I highly recommend anyone to try them out, this is seriously my favorite place, and for the value, its great!

I used to come here for lunch back in college (2000-2006) and was always a decent meal. We were in the area for some car repairs & decided to stop in again. It was 5:30pm, so I figured everything would be fresh for dinner... NOPE! Only about 6 people in the place at dinnertime isnt a good sign. We thought about leaving, but I was hungry & didnt want to deal with traffic again. The sweet & sour chicken was so hard I seriously couldnt chew it - had to be leftover from lunchtime. The honey chicken tasted like salt, not even a little sweet. At least the General Tso and peanut butter chicken seemed fresher & decent. My gf said the few items she tried were equally as gross. As were we leaving at 6pm, they brought out all kinds of fresh stuff... so maybe it wouldve been ok, but well never know. $11/person is too high for this poor quality & well never be back!

geez..tonight i was looking for dinner and stumbled upon this buffet. I got my normal portions of veggies and seafood and some white rice and couldnt believe how bland everything was!!!! The coconut shrimp was overcooked and Salmon was barely edible. I got there on a Monday night around 8:20pm and there were five people in the whole restaurant. Most of the food trays were empty or nearly empty. On my second plate, i had to get extra servings of hot sauce to cover everything up . My second plate wasnt any better. I had noodles, a shrimp dish, chicken and broccoli and stuffed mushrooms. The chefs forgot the cook the onions because they were raw. I have never seem seafood stuffed mushrooms drowning in broth like that before. Save your $12 bucks!

Firstly, the staff were very friendly! With that being said, its the only good thing about this place. I dont live near here and found this place threw Google. The reviews werent too bad but the people who did review seemed to like it. The rice was uncooked, the chicken and broccoli was cold, "sweet and sour sauce" was sour, tasted like vinigar!!! The butter shrimp looked very unsettling, what was there looked old and cold. everything that WAS probably half decent was gone and they didnt seem to want to make more because they were soon closing. The ice cream machine looked a little rough and the cones were stale. I left the restaurant $25 dollars poorer and still hungry.

Needed a quick lunch option to avoid a Bland conference lunch. Its what you expect in a cheap Chinese lunch buffet with probably more sushi and chicken selections than most (they have the elusive peanut chicken!). Not very much Americana, which didnt bother me, but I know is to be expected for some with the picky eaters tagging along. Also, the booth backs moved a little when I sat on either side and there was a person behind me, I know because I tried both sides. I think it was like 7-8 bucks for the lunch buffet and a buck or two for the drink. My bill was 9.79 so I left 12 and went back to my meeting full and happy!

This would not normally be a 5-star review, but I wanted to give some balance to the one-star ratings, and maybe help raise the average a bit. In all honesty, it probably is more of a 3-star rating. Everything I sampled was perfectly adequate, and I did enjoy my meal, though nothing was especially noteworthy. I wouldnt mind just a tad more variety; some Chinese buffets often offer a few more Western options. The interior was clean, and seemed well maintained. The staff was friendly. All in all, the China Garden Buffet is pretty much what one would expect from a Chinese buffet, on par with most Ive experienced.
