I have been to China City Buffet on several occasions. I agree with some of the reviews...the food is good, they have a wide variety to choose from and you will more than likely never see the bottom of your glass, but this place has a couple of major flaws. First of all, they have a Big Screen TV in the Dining Area...that would be a great idea...if it WAS NOT playing Infomercials and Soap Operas ALL OF THE TIME! Secondly, although the Dining Area and Buffet are clean...try visiting the bathrooms. During my last visit, I went to the bathroom which had just been mopped and still had wet floors, but they did not have any warning signs posted and the bathroom smelled like it had been mopped with 3 week old mop water! It made me sick to my stomach and I was unable to finish my meal. Lastly, the building is too old and the tile in the bathroom looks like it was there before the building and they decided to build around it!! This building should be torn down and rebuilt...or at the very least...FULLY renovated. If I would have been a Health Inspector, I would have written at least 5 Violations for the condition of the bathrooms alone that day. I am not writing this in retaliation on a personal level or otherwise. I am simply telling the truth. The Proprietors of China City Buffet would do a great service to their customers, costumer base and their business if they would move the restaurant into the SouthLand Mall, which is all but closed and wasted space. This would not only increase their reputation and profits, but breathe life back into a once thriving Epi-Center of the South Side.

China City Buffet is one of my favorite Asian themed restaurants in the Columbus area. The staff at this establishment are very courteous, tentative and make sure your experience is one to enjoy and remember. Not only is the service excellent, but so is the food. The buffet offers plenty of choices, from main dishes to dessert and even sushi. The bar is kept clean and the food is fresh. Though, when a dish is no longer available, replenishment of food was slow; I did have to wait for some dishes to become available again. The restaurant itself was clean, it may feel a little dim, but the overall condition of the dinning room was good. Overall, China City Buffet is a great place for a family dinner or for a quick fix of your favorite Asian dish.

Horrible. I went to eat with my 5 year old daughter and 11 year old daughter. They charged all of us the adult price because it was "seafood" night. It wasnt posted that the price was different, in fact my waiter even asked the ages of my children! The sushi wars never refilled as well as the crab legs! I addressed the cashier and she wouldnt budge. This is awful treatment! A 5 year old getting charged full price? Over $41.00 for myself and 2 kids under the age of 12. :( Shady: the last time we were there they tried to charge my kids full price but rectified the issue at the counter. The food is old, stale, and frankly I dont trust them. Ill never go back. This is the first time Ive ever reviewed a restaraunt so poorly. Go at your own risk.

Would not recommend this place to anyone. We walked in around 3:30 in the afternoon not knowing that dinner begins at 4:00. Once 4:00 came along our waitress begins arguing with the hostess. He kindly comes over and let us know that our waitress would be charging us for the dinner price. We didnt have a problem with that. We did have a problem with how she handled the situation. She was irate, rude and had a terrible attitude. She waited for us by the door expecting her tip. As for the food, it is good. They have a large selection, but, unfortunately I will not give my hard earned money to a business that treats their customers in that manner.

I never saw the bottom of my glass. There was never an empty plate on the table. There was just the right hint of sour on the sweet and sour chicken, the Gen. Tsos had the right spice (flavor, not heat), and I must recommend the peanut chicken. All the food was fresh, hot, and the cleanest buffet Ive ever tried. I dont like mushrooms, but even I enjoyed their stuffed mushrooms. You know how string beans get soggy, these were crisp. So were the onions in the peppered steak. And I was shocked at how low the price was. This was a very positive experience and I WILL be going back.

Decent food, horrible customer service. The servers actually do a good job of refilling your water but they are aggressive and rude when it comes to tips. I actually had a server follow me up to the check out, take my card from the cashier, swipe it and stare as I was signing the slip. Ive also had a lady comment on my tips. Ive never in my life experienced something like this. Ive worked jobs where I get tipped for years now but Ive never approached a customer about their tips. Its rude and unprofessional. F this place. Never going back after my experience today.

I just came from eating there with my family. I would not recommend ever eating there!! We were told one price over the phone but charged way more once we got there. The selection was lacking to say the least. The taste was even worse. It was like the food had been at one buffet and then brought to this one and reheated. The service was horrible, unless you enjoy someone standing over top of you while you eat!! If you want an amazing Chinese food experience then go to China Bell in Grove City. One more note they pester you for tips. telling you "more more"

i love this place, it has over 168 items included, the price of the food is cheap, when ever I go there, i leave with a full stomach. one year, I went to the buffet on Noverber , and the buffet price was $4.99 all you can eat, both adult and kid, it was the cheapest price that i ever found, I wish that they will do this kind of event more, and more people can have the chance to enjoy this wonderful buffet. l also love the sushi over there, it colorful and good taste(with the rice and veg. together, Yum..).
