We have been to Ponderosa many times and the last time was yesterday (April 8, 2014) about 4:30 p.m.. Everything was clean, the staff was very nice and professional and the food was delicious. I got small portions of the best meatloaf, fantastic fried chicken, and fried fish (please note all were small portions--I do not over-load my plate and leave waste). I also got a helping of green beans and delicious red potatoes. For dessert, I got some sauteed apples. Delicious! Absolutely delicious. Ponderosa has been a favorite in the past and will continue to be in the future. Almost forgot to give ratings for my husband and mother; my darling husband got fried chicken, turkey, brocolli (spelling?), a very nice salad, and red potatoes as I. He is more of a healthy eater than I but he managed to sneak a bite or two of my fried chicken. My 90-year-old mother got chrispy fried chicken wings (Ponderosa has two kinds: spicy and non-spicy)--she got the non-spicy. She also got mashed potatoes and green beans. Again, everyone loved everything. Upon leaving, our hostess clearning our table and did a fantastic job. Very Nice and friendly management and staff.

Only positive was a nice waitress. Whoever is giving this place a rating over 0 is either being paid to do so or has never been to a steakhouse or buffet. The worst food Ive ever had to pay for, $26.00. I eat at the one back in my home town in Ky., and its like a 5 star restaurant. I had no clue there would be such a difference. This place should avoided period. I drove from the north side of Columbus just to get a taste of their wings, and they looked and tasted like they were fried in 10 day old grease. Some food cold. some looked like it had been sitting in water or whatever liquid you want to call it and everything else so over cooked it looked and tasted like baby food. So before planning a trip here save your $11.25 -buffet only. If you want a steak that looked like you could see through it, yeah its that thin, that will cost you an extra 6+ bucks. Golden Corral or Longhorn is going to be a better bang for your buck. May cost a little more, but you wont feel like youve been cheated or wonder "Should I ask for my money back?" MY RATING IS 1 and thats only for the waitress.

What happened to ponderosa? Is it that hard to make real mash potatoes? How do you mess up corn that bad? Your butter that is used on the buffet food is earful. For a place with good proteins your sides are disgusting. I had a bite of all your sides and they all tasted processed. Just open a GOOD can of corn and heat it up its easy. I worked for this store and several others in Columbus as a young man and we were always busy and the food was amazing. I see now why you have closed all other locations in Columbus. Im guessing this one will shortly. So sad

I am very suprised that the health department allows them to stay open. Baked chicken was raw and the waitress said that that is the way it comes out and garuanteed us it was done. Cross contamination of foods. Mixing new with old on the salad bar. Person handling food was not wearing gloves. Meatballs were cold. My mother asked for the senior buffet and was charged full price. This was supposed to be a nice Birthday Dinner for my brother. Thats what he wanted. We will not be back. Lucky they even got 1 star.

There is a dish washer that works there that is very disrespectful to the female employees. He calls them hoes and bitches and has threaten several of them that if he sees them outside of the work place he will punch them in the mouth. When I heard this I was very displeased. Management and the owner needs to have situation corrected. Women should not be disrespected in this way. I will be telling everyone I know about this employee and not to support this restaurant until this situation is corrected.

I took my kids here for lunch today it was around 1 pm waitress came 2 times to the table once to get receipt and second to drop off our drinks never came back to give us refills or take the plates. The buffet doesnt have very much variety I asked for fresh pizza and when she brought it out to the bar the pizza was burnt just like the first one buffet is very over priced better off going to golden corral they have more options for pretty much the same price. Not happy at all dont plan on going back

I would give 5 stars for the food and buffet and service but the place was jammed packed. Again the waitress was great and the food but the place was so full and you seat your self so you walk around looking for tables , the customers had the tables pushed to close so we could not set at some in the rear. Maybe on a normal slow day I would give 5 stars . I think they should seat the guests so they would have the tables ready and set up right. Again I will say the food was great tho.

This was the worst food that Ive ever put in my mouth. The salad from the salad bar tasted gross and all of that shouldve been on ice to keep cool, but wasnt. The steak had no taste and about made me sick, tea was so gross. For the price we got charged we expected to get really good food, but did not. We can make better food in our own kitchen that is mouth watering and I can promise this, Ill never ever eat here again.

Love to eat here. Their fried fish, meat loaf, veggies as well as their many desserts (fudge as good as my mothers) keep me coming back. Food has been consistently good and seems to be made from country recipes. Staff is always kind and fast to refill my glass or get me a coffee. Only thing that could make this place better would be if theyd sell a yearly dining pass.

Drove two hours from Cleveland to this place and it was awesome and worth trip the food was delish and so was the service. Clean environment with a nice variety of food. It was like happiness served in a buffet with a variety of style. They need to be everywhere again.

Not a good selection of food. This place was great in the early 1990s. Air conditioning was not working properly and today is a high of mid 90s. Fans ran but it still was 82 inside. No discounts on buffet prices for inconveinace. I would of rated a 3 if air worked.

Buffet style but has other things like steak, Food is good, can be a little bit pricey. I have not been there myself in years but last time I went service and food was good and was worth going. Would recommend going around late lunch early dinner times

The restroom smells like piss. The mac and cheese is elbows with pssst Kroger brand cheese. The dessert look like a 1 year old smake cake. But the Pepsi is great. And for this to be a steak house this is no steak. Im going to golden corral next time.
