This is still our favorite place to eat at. We just love the food and selection here. Weve never been here for lunch or tried the buffet. I live on the east side so this is a trip for us to make, but when we do, we always order enough to take home for a second meal. Service can be hit or miss, but for most of the time its usually great. October 2012 After a long day at the Columbus Zoo, we came back here since weve been wanting to try some more items off the menu. The food was great and the server was excellent. We really enjoyed everything. If only this was located near us by Easton we would go here all the time. I look forward to coming back, I just wish I knew more people who would try this kind of food so I could bring them here. July 2012 Ive never been here before but we were looking for a place with some good vegetarian options. This place is really nice, and was very clean. It had a nice atmosphere for dinner. It can get a bit loud at times when it gets busy. There was an infant in the both over crying from time to time, but thats expected from a little baby. The service started off slow and awkward. The server at one point during the middle of our ordering of drinks and apps, he turned to the table behind us to do something for them really quick. It was strange, but as the service went on, it improved and was really good. The food here is good and we look forward to a return to try some other things. The appetizers are all really good. We had the Samosas, Chilgoza Kurkuri, and some Naan and Garlic Naan. My main course, I cant remember the name, but it was dumplings stuffed with cottage cheese in a cashew sauce. It tasted more like Chickpeas than cottage cheese. They were balls not really dumplings. Im not sure if I got the right meal, however, I still enjoyed it. Other thoughts, I think it could be a little more spicy, but as Indian places go, spicy means different things from one place to the next. I got mine medium, but didnt notice any heat so it felt more like mild to me. The sauce was a little heavy and creamy, very filling and rich. We all had a good dinner and left here feeling very full. Cant wait to come back.

It has probably the best ambiance of any local Indian restuarant. And, I thought the food was wonderful. The lamb biryani was especially good and really reminded me of my grandmothers cooking. The meat was succulent and the rice well done without being over-cooked. The aloo vindaloo was good as well, with the sauce just the right consistency. I ordred an apetizer made with okra and am now hooked on it. Its like okra french fries with a very tangy seasoning. Its addictive. And the carrot halwa was quite good even if a bit too sweet. I personally prefer the taste of carrots to be the dominant force, giving it that salty-sweet taste. But even so, the food was fantastic, the ambiance not only lovely but uniquely so for an Indian restaurant in the CMH area (were no New York, OK?), and the service was very attentive, friendly, and professional. Its a great place to go on a date or for a family or business meal. Be prepared for your food to arrive a bit slower than what were all accustomed to but you will be rewarded with food prepared fresh rather than frozen food and microwaved. The ambiance is just right to make the wait a pleasant experience, not to mention the reward of the feast itself.

Its one of the worst experience I ever had in any restaurant. The service was horrible and they served stale food. I have been to this place before and they were good. But its different story. To begin with the person who took the order was least bothered to check how we would prefer the food. I placed order for Birbali Sorba, Chicken 65, Malai kebab and HyderabadI Biryani. They bought all together and chicken 65 was not fresh it was dead cold and looked like they served mornings dish. The kebab was bland and they dint serve any chutney with it. I had to wait for 15 mins to find someone to inform. After informing they changed it and taking their own time. Biryani was bland no salt no spice they dint even bother to ask me the spice level I would prefer while placing order. I saw the person that took care of the table busy with his phone and chitchat in with other Co workers. He bought the check and after giving the card he was just waiting beside me to check the amount he got in TIP. That was absolutely not at all acceptable. I wish they could get back to what they were in the beginning. This would be a GOOD BYE.....

Suddenly I just visit to the Tadkas web so I was thinking to comment about my foods and service! This time it wasnt busy! WOOHOO! :) We enjoyed everything we ordered and the service was excellent, friendly and efficient. We were first time in the restaurant and we dont know whats good in here or popular.. We ordered CKN 65 for appetizer which came on nice plate/and ROSE which is made out of Carrot! Then the server chosen for me food which is chicken tikka masala, one of the lamb dish, some Garlic Naan and mango lassi. oh lastly, he also chose for us the best dessert Rash-malaii. I really appreciate this kind of customer service. In fact, everything was perfectly spiced for our taste. The rice was plentiful and the naan nicely toasted. It was best service ever seen in my life. He brought our foods from the kitchen, nicely packed our foods whatever left on, complimentary special chinese salads, Papadam, chutneys etc...! But, I cant remember the server name now. Thats all I know hes from bangladesh where the Royal bengals are. His name start with H. I will try to find him next time in there and remember his name...

Service was terrible. We went for the buffet which is horribly overpriced for the kind of food they serve. Our server also (just like the review written below) did not show up for a long time and we were not asked about our free complimentary juice/drink until we were almost done with lunch!! The buffet had dry, i repeat DRIED out white rice, which wasnt replaced for atleast 20 mins!!! Infact most of the dishes were not being replaced quickly. The tandoor was not replaced while we were there! The chef at tadka just doesnt know how to cook meat - cooking a chicken curry is basic knowledge and you have to be a terrible cook to get the chicken so tough!! the curries tasted good but the meat was overcooked!! The indian-chinese food section was tolerable but not worth the frikking 14$ they charge!!! I will never ever go to this place again - esp not for the overpriced-under served buffet!!

Went here to try Indian Chinese, but ended up getting the lunch buffet as it is pretty much the same price as an entree. Im no expert on Indian food; I just love it. I tried a number of the dishes. The Chinese and some of the Indian were good. The rest of the Indian was great. The goat and gulab jamun were my amazing. Its a bit pricey for a lunch buffet, but the quality of the food certainly met my expectations. There was this Indian lady serving the dishes at one part of the buffet. Im not sure she was very good with English, but she just kept saying "samosa?" even when I came back a second time. I realize that I dont look like an Indian connoisseur, but what does this lady think, that I just come to Indian buffets to challenge myself to how many fried potatoes I can slam down? So I got my own daal or whatever the hell it was, since I couldnt ask this lady, and enjoyed it.
