We went to the Goat in New Albany on 4/14/13 for a few drinks and dinner. This wasnt our first time there so we knew what we were going to order when we sat down at the table. I will say it was a little busy be it was a awesome day out and a lot of people had the same idea. But the service that we received during our time there was by far the WORST I have ever had. The 4 of us sat at our table for a good 10 minutes before someone decided to come and wait on us and it all went down hill from there. We would have to end up walking up to the bar to get our drinks bc the servers were to busy taking shots with other people at the bar!!! I understand you work at a bar but this is to much for me. When they decide to drink on the clock instead of waiting on a table full of paying customers that were looking to drink there fair share says a lot about the staff that day. Lastly, we again had to go to the bar to tell our server that we were ready to cash out and leave. So they brought our bill and then he was gone again. I had my money ready for him to take and cash out. But again we waited another 10 minutes till I we back up to the bar to just get this debacle over! When telling the server about how bad our service was her response was "Well we are trying to get away from serving tables" Really well until you do I would think that you would provide service to all customers. The bar was busy but not busy enough to blow off a table like they did to us. Needless to say that we will be taking our business elsewhere.

The food was great, but service was lacking. My friend and I went for dinner around 730pm on a Sunday. There was hardly anyone at the restaurant and no host in sight, so we sat ourselves at the bar. While eating I had difficulty getting our waiters attention, and the other two people working at the bar didnt acknowledge us (and honestly seemed to glare at us a few times). It got to the point that I would consider rude when our waiter took drink orders for people immediately to my left and right, but ignored me while I tried to quietly get his attention. Luckily I wasnt in a hurry, so I continued to wait while he chatted with his friends. Ive had trouble in the past getting a waiters attention when theyve been busy moving about the restaurant, but never before have I had difficulty getting the attention of a server standing roughly 3 feet away. I would have understood if the restaurant or bar were busy, but the restaurant was totally empty and in the half hour I was there, the three people working the bar served our food, opened 3-4 canned drinks, and poured 3 shots, hardly a busy night.

Food is really good if you come when its not too busy. Highly recommend the Avacado Lime Salad and Taco Pizza (both can be gluten free). Im not usually picky with service, but the good food sometimes doesnt make up for the bad service, so we order to go a lot or just dont go. Service is usually poor - slow host stand with several servers usually standing around chatting, servers are inconsistent (few are kind and some blatantly rude and unwilling to accommodate with little knowledge of menu, and some just plain awkward), long wait times, etc etc. Drinks are inconsistent. Seems like management could do more to make the experience better. The menu is strong with good quality food, but again, the poor service makes it hard to want to deal with for good food.

We had a great waiter. Unfortunately the food was overpriced and no good. We had the trio plater... Old celery, green peppers with seeds and veins left in them, and not enough "grilled naan" to finish the hummus and guacamole. The Naan is not fresh but to their credit they just say "grilled". Our silverware and glasses were dirty which or waiter promptly brought us new and felt terrible. We then had the pork tots and each of us got a salad. The tots are "hand rolled" but they arent fresh (frozen potatoes). Bottom line, for the price they should be serving fresher food. If youre looking for sub par bar food then its probably perfect. Will not be returning. We arent complainers but, my experience compelled me to write this review.

The service is terrible, plain and simple. The bartenders are ok and the food is ok. The service is absolutely awful. I sat there with my wife for almost an hour and not one waitress greeted us, asked us if we wanted menus, or even if we wanted drinks. She did however chit chat with her friend at the table at least three times. She took their drink orders, app orders, and food orders before she even came to our table. After she took their food order we promptly left. Our only regret is we didnt complain to management at the time. I certainly will next time Im there. Let me add that this isnt our first experience of bad service at this place, it just sucks we live within walking distance of this terribly ran establishment.

We received good service: friendly and prompt. Food was yummy and reasonably priced for portions and the atmosphere/decor of the place— which is very cool and hip. Ordered a Mule which didnt come in a copper mug (sad face); surprising since they clearly have an eye for detail. By no means a deal breaker though since it was delicious and strong! I see a lot of unfortunate reviews on here commenting on the poor service. Im hoping this was just one "bad egg" that they have since gotten rid of because our experience tonight was great!

My order was all wrong from the drink to the side dish(was nice enough and didnt bother the server to correct the orders even though she made a mistake with two things in a row. On the top of it all when i reviewed the credit card statement today i realized they charged me more then what i tip them. My suggestion for anyone that goes there is to check their bank statement for overcharges. Shocked and will never again go to this place. They either dont know how to count or they just plan careless. I consider this a fraud.

Just moved within walking distance of this establishment and was super excited. Every time I have been there it takes a long time to get a drink. Ive had bartenders look at me and either walk away, talk to another employee, or ask the people directly next to me that have drinks if they want another one when it was clear I didnt have a drink and/or menu. This seems like a common trend after talking with friends that also go to this establishment. It is really nice, but the service it terrible. Hopefully it improves.

Ive never had a bad experience at the Goat especially when Kayla Chatterton is working! Kayla is full of energy, has an amazing personality and is a very skilled bartender/server. She also has an incredible ability to make everyone feel welcome and important. I highly encourage people to frequent this establishment, if you do not already do so!

Food is good when you eat there. If you order out though expect to wait 40 min and get there to cold food. Service is mediocre overall. I think for the most part its because theyre understaffed but it does get annoying at times. Other than that the happy hour is fairly decent on the weekdays. Im sure Ill be back though since its so close by.
