We never fail to visit this bar/eatery every year. The food and service is consistently great. Staff are so accommodating. They served us dessert and coffee in the " waiting area" while we listened to the live music, because all the tables were full, we were so comfy we never left. The seafood appetizer "trifecta " served in a martini glass is without a doubt the best app I have ever had. This has 3 grilled gulf scallops, perfectly seared and juicy, 2 large shrimp, some fish dip with crackers or toasty things and a fresh tomatoe salsa like goodness on the bottom. Its a meal. This jewel. Is right on beach!! Gulf sunset and live music, whats not to love. My only concern is that patrons often wander in from the beach, please people put on some clothes, men wear a shirt, have some respect for the Grand Plaza.

First of all- beautiful spot and views. The food and service were mediocre. We were a table of two planning on staying for dinner, but after we realized our waitress had ten tables and wasnt really hustling, (I felt for her, but truly, everything was a stroll), the appetizer we had was nothing special (Sunset trio: scallops were amazing but the rest tasted less than fresh), and my boyfriend had to order his second beer from the bar because our waitress was in the weeds, we decided to grab the check. Great service and better food would make this place a much better value to add to the view.

Ordered our food at around 9:30 the night before wedding. The brides cheesestick came without cheese in it. My uncles chicken came raw where he than came to the waitress which was very polite and after witnessing the foods at the table that was served at just about 11:28 she took off the chicken and proceeded to tell us about the years shes been working with this which was incredible for these people to be doing this. And the nerve the manager (patrick) had to try and keep the chicken on the check, simply rude. Recommended not to eat leaving alone the wedding!!!

Mmmm

Our first time on St Pete Beach. Glad we found this place. Where else can you have great service, great food, awesome drinks all while your toes are in the sand and a few weddings to watch too. We received our burgers, salads, and crap cakes rapidly and hung out a while for a few more great drinks. Found the prices very reasonable for the view and quality of food. The live music was good as well. Great relaxing place.

Stayed at the Grand Plaza hotel, and for our first lunch we went there. We sat on the beach, which was an amazing feeling. I ordered the Fish Sandwich, grilled. It was one of the best sandwiches Ive ever had. We went there again later for some drinks, and this nice man tended to us for over an hour. He always seemed happy and kept coming back to our table to check in on us. This place deserves five stars.

Called to make reservations for our party of 9. Was told they do not accept reservations. I asked if they had a suggestion so that we did not wait as long, they said come before 5. We waited for 2.5 hour for them to seat his. Luckily a family got up an hour within us arriving at the restaurant and we were able to snag their table. Not many options m. Would suggest for lunch not dinner.

What a great find, great casual beach dining at its finest complete with flashlights attached the menu for after sunset, Tiki lamps and tableside lanterns were brought out as it began to get dark. We especially enjoyed the free sunset shot. Burger was huge and delicious fish tacos were awesome 2. Live acoustic guitar was pretty good. Overall had a great time.

We enjoyed Bongos Bongos the most out of all of the beach front bars we visited on our vacation. They have a decent selection of mixed and frozen drinks. Im taking away a star because we didnt like how they were served in tiny dixie-cups, but the atmosphere and clientele at the bar made us feel comfortable.

This restaurant is the best restaurant in Saint Pete Beach, for service, food and atmosphere. Kudos to Patrick, the management team and servers. They hustle and work to please. The food is outstanding, served right on wonderful Saint Petes Beach. Prices are reasonable too. It doesnt get any better than this!

I visited this locating twice during a visit to Tampa area(mostly because it was walking distance from the hotel). We were seated immediately and then didnt receive service for more than 15 minutes. The food was pretty good but the drinks were weak and overpriced. Overall a very "meh" experience.

Food was fine, service was slow. Location was great (we sat ON the beach and ate while we watched two wedding occur just beyond the seating area). Drinks were GOOD and reasonably priced, but wouldnt recommend/return. There are so many options... try something else.

I am a local and a vegan , so this place does not offer much vegetarian or vegan food and it is also very touristy so that is why I am giving it three stars . We always come here with out of town guests and they really like the location, views , and drinks .

Great outdoor dining on the beach. Atmosphere is superb and the service was fantastic. We visited multiple times while in St Pete! The tuna tartar could use some additional seasoning beyond the sauce its served with but the fish tacos are fantastic!

Always a great experience. Had the Coconut Chicken and it was very good. Wait staff was friendly and efficient. Food takes a few extra minites but that gives you plenty of time to enjoy the beautiful sunset. Bring your Bongos cup for extra savings.

The only restaurant in St Pete Beach where you can literally dine on the sand. Is it a 5-star restaurant? No, of course not. The food is above average, the atmosphere is great and the view is...exceptional. You cant go wrong with Bongos.

I went here with high hopes on spring break, hearing about how great it was, only to find a spot to sit and then have 10 staff walk by me and make eye contact and not help me. I waited 25 minutes and left without bring served.

Great experience here. Stayed at The Grand Plaza and came right down for some great margaritas. Crab cakes are good as well as the burgers. Service is fast and wait staff is nice. Live music ever night. Great to check out.

Great place to eat with your feet in the sand. Food is simple and delicious. Drew, our waiter, provided good service and was very pesonable. Need to up the menu to remove the beers that are no longer offered though.

The parking attendant seemed like he didnt want anybody going to Bongos. He rudely told us the closest parking was a 15 minute walk away. Its a slow Saturday and theres actually plenty of street parking nearby.

Great location on the beach and atmosphere. Live music added to the experience. Drinks and beer were great. We only had two appetizers: scallops and coconut shrimp. Not showstoppers, but both were good.
