Poor service, average lunch food, high prices I went with my family for lunch here. Their lunch menu is very limited, so we all ended up getting sandwiches. Grouper sandwich, portabella sandwich, and 2 Angus burgers. After we placed our order, we waited for half an hour for our food. When it finally came you could tell some of it had been sitting out waiting to be brought to the table for quite some time. Almost immediately after receiving our food our waitress, named Alexandra, asked how our food was. Well we hadnt really had a chance to taste it when she asked us. We didnt see her again for the rest of our meal. Our drinks were empty, and we even had to wait awhile to get our check, and wait even longer and had to flag her down for her to pick it up to charge the card. The other servers at the restaurant were very attentive to their guests, but ours was missing. The grouper was pretty average for being $18. The burgers were $16 and very dry. The $10 portabella wasnt even hot. The bill came to around $80 for 4 people, but with the average food and poor service it seemed like we overpaid. After our meal I spoke with a manager about our server. The manager said she has had complaints about Alexandra before, and was very apologetic. My father who had paid the bill had already left, but the manager said she would help us out the next time we came in. The restaurant itself was beautiful, and it had a nice, although pricey, gift shop. I would not go back for lunch, but I might give it another try for dinner.

The good: Cool fish tank, good ceviche and salad. The bad: Understaffed, slow service, confrontational management. The fish came out late and cold the first time - overcooked the second time. Drinks were even slow. It took almost 3 hours to escape this place. The assistant manager said he would, "take care of it" when we complained about the service and food, but when the bill came out there was no adjustment (other than the automatic 20% gratuity). When we protested the bill and asked to speak with the manager, he returned from looking for him to inform us, "he slipped out." [Sure] When we refused to pay the full price of the bill he said he would, "have to call security." [Really?] We waited for 10 minutes for "security" to show up when he sent the young waitress back to inform us we could leave because he comped our meals. I get that a restaurant can perhaps have an off night, but we were a group of well-dressed, polite, professional couples celebrating a birthday - we were being rude our rowdy. We simply had bad food and poor, slow service and the way management handled it made a bad situation worse.

We had party of 4 adults and food was excellent. Interior is amazing and every time we have guests from out of town we take them there. Everyone has great time. Out check has always been over $120 for food alone. Tonight we had great time and server was great in getting us food that was not on the menu. Everything was great until I asked for my check. When I got it I have seen that waiter Michelle has written in herself tip into space on the check in amount of 20% even. On the bottom of the check you get suggested tip amount printed but she took liblerty to write it in herself. When I asked her about it she said it is suggested tip. I asked why did SHE write it when i am supposed to do that ? She took that check and printed me new one without anything written on it.Guess what tip did I leave her. Bus boy got cash tip directly into his shirt pocket from me. Have eaten out hundreds and hundreds of times and I would say I am great tipper (i used to deliver pizza in my 20s and know what tip is) but I never had this happen to me where server directly tells you what tip they want.

While spending the day in St.Petersburg , my girlfriend and I decided to eat a light lunch at Rumfish Grill. The place had a retail section selling "Guy Harvey " items. There is a huge fish tank in the main lobby area. Seems that people "swim with the fishes " while your trying to eat . Didnt see that while we were there , thankfully . Average price for liquor drinks , She had the "fish tank" which she like. FYI ; I worked in many a restaurants , So I say this seriously concerning the Raw Oysters served there. Each oyster priced at 3.65 $ made a Dozen for 43.80$ Ouch.. Tho I didnt ask about the price before hand , I wish I had.. Turns out the oysters themselves were NOT worth it . Trust me when I say these things were rather small . Allen did a good job waiting on us . The manager on didnt get back to us after mentioning Size and price issues that I had . I say come down here to Sarasota and eat at "Walts" fish market on Rt 41..

My wife and I went to Rumfish Grill for the first time of course because we saw episode on Tank! Reservations easy to make. You walk into a gift shop which leads directly to restaurant and saltwater tanks. Was met at the door of the gift shop by two gentleman that just started working there and had just a refreshing and positive attitude. They took us to the hostess (who was NOT pleasant and NOT busy and NOT informative at all even though we told her first time there) However, another couple appeared to have the same experience with the hostess and complained and management got involved. We ate the delicious BRUNCH and waiter/waitress were EXCELLENT. We even sat right in front of aquarium. We later had an informative tour and swam with the fishes. We will be back again with friends and family. (hopefully the attitude of the hostess will change as first impressions almost made us leave the restaurant)

HORRIBLE service!!! We were going for a friends birthday (4 adults) to try it out and had reservations at 8:00 and were seated by 8:30. The waiter came over got drinks, ordered appetizers and dinner, etc. We all got to talking and realized the waiter hadnt come back to the table and we never got any appetizers, which had been about an hour and a half. Mind you our table is the very first one in the restaurant, we werent hiding in some corner. So I ask the hostess to please find our waiter with no luck. So I go ask for the manager. He comes over and says the "our ticket got lost". Yea, well apparently our waiter did too! So we ended up just getting up and leaving to make our way over to Middle Grounds where we are always get amazing service and got an awesome dinner. Lesson learned!! Moral of the story is dont bother going to Rumfish the service is horrible!!!

We showed up at 5 with no reservations and asked for a table. They told us the dining room was booked and we had to eat in the bar. The dining room was completely empty. We figured people would show up, it was still pretty much empty after our meal in the bar. Very poor table management. We sat in the bar for 10 minutes before we got menus. Then they dropped menus and did not offer drink orders. 10 minutes later, they came back and took our full order. We ordered two steaks medium rare, they both came out medium well. They offered to recook the steak. 10 minutes later the steaks came out over cooked again. We bit the bullet and ate these. No word from the manager, nothing. The potatoes were dry, veggies were good. For the $50 a head we spent, it was very sub par. Id spend your money somewhere else.
