Best Chicken Carbonara! Best Service and dining experience in Columbus, OH. Ive traveled from Catana, Scicily to Napoli, Italy and havent tasted a better Chicken Cabonara than what I had at Martinis. I first ate here back in late May of 2011. At that time, I enjoyed everything about the place except the temperature of the restaurant. It was very cold and caused my meal to get cold halfway through. I informed the management who graciously offered me a free entre for my next visit. Well I have returned and dreaded that my next experience might not live up to my previous experience. All fears were quickly put asside the moment I tasted their Martini house salad. The portion is a decent size but not such that Id get full and unable to eat my meal. I contend, however, that it was so bursting with flavor bringing out the zest in each bite that I could easily have made a meal out of this and been satisfied. The chicken carbonara was just as I remembered it and this time, the temperature of the restaurant was perfect allowing the meal to remain mildly hot to the very last savory bite. The wait staff was very friendly and eager to please. I enjoyed being waited on by the lovely Megan who checked on me regularly but not pesteringly and assisted by the other wait staff when she became busy. A special thanks to Megan who provided the best finishing to my already fantastic meal. With some room left for desert but bored by typical options, without hesitation Megan suggested the Amaretto Fredo (sorry if I butcher the name). This is truly a magnificent desert combination of a cylindrical chocolate torta, topped with a puck of vanilla frozen icecream, carmelized crasins (I think) with hot Amaretto liquour poured overtop that perfectly merge into a symphony of delightful flavors in your mouth with each bite. The portion size may be 4 bites more glutonous than a single diner should have but also good enough for two without feeling guilty at the end. I highly recommend this restaurant as it excels at all levels. Ive eaten at Lindeys, Scmidts, and other popular Columbus restaurants not to mention some of the best Italian restaurants in New York, Providence, Boston, Chicago, and St. Louis (yes theres some Italian roots there) and consider Martinis among the best of them and this one is by far my favorite in Columbus and will always return whenever Im back in town. Ill be a customer for as long as they maintain this level of excellence.

My partner Leslie and Myself attended dinner at Martini on Saturday, June 18th, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. The Waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu. She guided us through some of the more popular items, and really sold the Daily Special to Leslie right. The daily special was Alaskan Sockeye Salmon. The fish had a beautiful pink hue, but I dont recall the side dish. I had the Shrimp Marinara, the sauce was unbelievable. I have not had such a rich, but not to sweet, sauce like that in my life. The flavor of every thing we had was certainly worth the cost. I would have to say Marini is not top shelf but definitely not low country either. My personal recommendation as far as alcohol; would be the Negroni. What makes there Negroni special is the fact; the ingridients are mixed then stored in an oak charred barrel for 30 days. Aging the mixture creates a smooth drink, and adds a vanilla fragrance to the drink. Hands down the best Negroni in Columbus Ohio. Just in case you dont know what a Negroni is: Wikipedias definition is : The Negroni cocktail is made of one part gin, one part vermouth rosso (red, semi-sweet), and one part Campari, garnished with orange peel.[1] It is considered an apéritif.

This place is waaaay too pricey for what you get and how flippin loud the dining area is. Scallops appetizer $18, you get two scallops. Yes I said two. $38 for a New York Strip smothered and covered with their chefs idea of what looks good but doesnt taste that great. Not a great cut of meat that you would expect either. Go to Hyde Park down the street for that. I did have a gluten free penne with shrimp before my main course that was very good. Couldnt even tell it was gluten free. Had drinks at the bar before dinner, cool scene, but 43 bucks for 2 wines and 2 martinis is a bit much. I dont think of myself as cheap, but an establishment raises expectations when they charge a lot and Martini Modern Italian meets none of those expectations. Theres so many great restaurants in Columbus that Ill more than likely never go back to this place, at least Ill never go back to dine.

In town on business and saw the great reviews of this place so I decided to check it out. I ordered the veal martini and I had to send it back. The sauce has a sweet citrus flavor that was really strange. I havent had to return an entree in a very long time. I then ordered the pasta with shrimp in a tomato sauce. The pasta was extremely overcooked. I didnt return the dish but only ate about a 1/4 of it. I ate at the bar an the bartender could not have been any nicer or more understanding. Really was looking forward to eating here but my experience was really disappointing. Kudis to the VERY nice and professional bartender.

Bread was incredible. I had the beef tenderloin and was probably the best Ive ever had. Great flavor and texture Service was ok. Server was kinda weird and awkward. He said hes been there for 13 years. He brought everyone else bread except us until I asked. Then I received it 3 minutes before entree arrived. He dropped off a water glass as he walked by which wasnt mine due to the lipstick on the rim. I think he got the tables mixed up and theres still someone there waiting for their water Overall food was incredible but I know theres the 1 in 100 events of poor service so I would definitely go back

Had a great Dinner here a few months ago. The service was excellent. The Chic Decor, intimate atmosphere and attentive waiters delivers the ultimate dining experience. My girl and I had the Calamari, Butternut Tortellini as starters, then Chicken Carbonara for her, and the Salmon entree for me. All very good, no complaints. If she didnt tell me I would never have guessed that my her Carbonara was Gluten-Free. Impressive Five Star food and wine options. The is a must for our next visit. Just giving my thanks for a very elegant and memorable dinner.

You definitely have to love $5 martinis during happy hour. To go along with a delicious beverage are half-priced appetizers which do not disappoint. I especially enjoy their antipasto della casa for both the flavor and the quantity. Another perk if you will are the large windows (which open when its nice out) which allow you to enjoy the vibrant city while sipping an ice cold martini. The only downside to is they tend to get quite busy once they open so be sure to stop by early.

Great tasting food and top quality service. The wait staff was very engaging with just enough reserve to be respectful of our personal space. I was really impressed with how busy the whole place stayed, not showing evidence of slowing until nearly ending our meal. The host informed us that our wait would be 45 minutes, to an hour and sure enough, unlike many other places, they were good for their word. We sat in the bar for 60full minutes, but somehow it was worth it.
