This place is wayyyyyyyyy overrated. The quality of the food is ok. For the price it is horrid. The inside is very nice, along with the table placement and the valet parking. It creates the illusion that what your are going to eat will be good food. This however is not the case. We can start with the cocktails which had nearly no ice and were warm after 5 min. We got escargot as an appetizer. It had a slight fishiness to the taste, and no spinach, which is a classic addition to this dish. It was basically just a snail clarified butter and some undercooked garlic shreds. Not impressed. Next I had a Caesar salad. The dressing was think and creamy, which is fine but the pronounced overbearing flavor of anchovies in the dressing was overwhelming. I felt like I was breathing anchovies. Every time I spoke I felt like the anchovy aroma was spilling outta my mouth like gas fumes. At this point I am still thinking "Ok this stuff is mediocre but Im here for the steak and Im sure that will justify the expensive prices and excellent reviews that have led me here." I got the 24 oz Cowboy ribeye steak priced at 53 dollars. I ordered it medium rare. The steak arrives at the table and I cut into it. Mind you the server is long gone at this point. I find the steak light pink and smoking hot. Not to mention the texture cutting into the steak was very rugged and tough. My mother who accompanied me ordered the same steak and hers was also over cooked. So we send them back. The server is now avoiding us until our steaks are ready to hit the table. This takes them another 30 minuets. Now we get our steak and they are cooked perfectly. Now Im ready to do it up. The scent of the zip sauce sweeping across my face got me right back in the mood to tear apart this steak. I cut into it and take my first bite. This is when the true disappointment began to set in. This special beef they claim they import is noting special. In fact it was nearly tasteless. The outside had a char but there was no flavor to it at all. Before visiting La Bistecca I never knew a char could be this flavorless. It truly shocked me. The zip sauce is ok. We got an extra side of it because the steak needed all the help it could get. It gelled very fast at room temperature. I have had many zip sauces and this is the first one that turned completely solid on my table. There was no chef or manager that asked us if everything was ok. Nothing, the server, now scared of our table continued to avoid us. It took another 1 hour and 25 min to get out of there after we were finished eating. I felt really bad for my mom. It was her 62nd birthday. She got all dressed up with her fur coat and fancy clothing only find here night ended up becoming a big disappointment. If you really want to have a truly good steak that is worth the money, tastes fa-nominal, and have great service go to Lellis in Auburn Hills. I will never ever set foot in this place again. If your into a place that appears fancy yet has horrible food this is the place for you. I honestly feel bad for the people who actually think this place is good, I have been working in steakhouses for 10 years and I can truly say this place is very mediocre at best.

My wife and I ate at La Bistecca Saturday night, celebrating an ealry Valentines Day and a night away from the kids. For tne last 10 years weve been on a quest for the perfect steak and Tiramisù. To date we found: Steak #1= Andiamos, Steak #2 = Lellies. Tiramisù #1 = some little restaurant in St. Lucia (sorry dont remember the name / located on the Sandals beech resort right on the strip near the Patons), Tiramisù#2 = Tiramisù of Plymouth. So how did La Bistecca rank? Ill get to it soon enough. Lets start with the Vallet. My rating "Outstanding". The young man was very polite and quick and smiley. Opened my wifes door for her on the way in and the way out but allowed me to take care of my self. I like that! Upon leaving our car was retrieved quickly and there was no ackward pause while he waited for the tip (of course i did). Coat check rating "Outstanding". The pretty girl was very friendly and helpful and again very quick. Service rating "Absolutely Outstanding". It is a rare find to be completely taken care of the entire meal (full drinks, bread, dishes picked up, dessert on time, and bill without waiting) without also being annoyed. They swoop in and take care of business and you dont really know theyre there. Waiter was very friendly and attentive from start to finish. Ok, now the food! my rating "Outstanding". The fresh baked bread came with some kind of special sauce that weve never had before, it was great. Then for appetiser we had the Rissotto Balls stuffed with cheese, again a first for us and it was amazing. The salad was a little leafy but definately fresh and their homemade vinagarette dressing was really good. For the main course we each had the fillet. It was cooked absolutely perfect! It was the most tender, juicy, and flavorable steak weve ever had. La Bistecca, you move into #1 spot for best steak! Food rating "Absolutely Outstanding". Now, the dessert: a little dissapointing. sorry. We get the Tiramisù at every restaurant we ever been to that offers it and each one always has its own take on the popular dessert. Ever since we had it for the first time on our honey moon in St. Lucia very few restaurants have come close. While the presentation was very nice what we got was one thin wafer (soaked properly) sandwiched between to thick layers of cream. While it did have a good flavor it was not what we were expecting after having such an amazing meal. Dessert rating "Just OK". Overall experience "Outstanding". We will definately return and reccommend to friends! Pete M. - Food Lover.

In past experience with La Bistecca, service and taste have been a value for the price. We recently visited on 7-21 and I do not feel we received the same value. The appetizers and bread were amazing. The house salad showed the first sign of a lack of quality control; some salads had plenty of tomatoes/cucumbers and others had none. The beef and veal entrees look and apparently tasted good, although the plating of the veal dish was off center/sloppy. The chicken parmigiana was too large and dry/overcooked in the center. The chicken gnocchi was horrible. The chicken was rubbery and the sauce gritty and overpowering. The toasted gnocchi component was the best part. The busser did a great job clearing and filling water glasses. The server created a rushed/nervous environment. Nice person but maybe not suited to being a professional server. We will be back for a visit iin December. Please work to get back to the classy value we know and love..

What a pleasant suprised to have stumbled into this place on a cold wet day. I was in the area on business and had a long day and this was the first place I saw. Had I known it was such a nice place I would have had better attire. However, the atmosphere, staff and food was excellent. Everything tasted fresh, seasoned well and obviousely there were skilled people in the kitchen. Unfortunately I will most likely never be in the area again but if so I would live to go back . The price was a bit higher than your average place but the food was well worth it. Live music was a nice touch. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for great food and good atmosphere. Quiet, low lights. Great place for a date.
