Im not going to lie - the food was awesome, but I wont ever be returning based on my experience on Saturday. I had out of town guests and this establishment just embarassed me - heres my list of the horrible sequence of events that entailed. -was seated and never got a waiter. Had to get our own menus and track down someone after 20 minutes of sitting there waiting. -order had to be repeated several times. I asked for both red and green sauce and was told that they couldnt do that because it wouldnt punch into the computer... -when we finally got our food, it was cold but we didnt complain - wed been waiting for well over an hour. Had to sit around for another 10 minutes waiting for utensils that never came and had to track someone down...again. -when we finished, it was obvious. We sat, not touching our plates, for another 15 minutes while our "waiter" cleaned tables around us. Finally - yes, we had to track him down again. -I asked to see the manager and complained. We were given 10% discount and a very disgruntled waiter that marched up to me and proceeded to tell me that the bad service wasnt his fault because he wasnt assigned our table...they were busy (which they werent)... and so on. -Finally, we waited for another 15 minutes for our bills to be cashed and walked out never receiving a thank you or an apology. It was just ridiculous!

This is the best Mexican Restaurant in all of Ohio. As a Latino who has gone here for 10 years and has tried other so called Mexican restaurants, this is the only one I ever go to. The tacos here are as tacos should be made. The enchiladas and Especial de La Casa, stripped chicken with rice and melted cheese on top, are very tasty entrees. The portions are correct for the price you are paying. This place is always packed so one shouldnt complain if you are not seated right away as this is common in restaurants that are very popular. Additionally I do know the owners and they are owned by Latina sisters. Overall this place is great and the servers here are like any other servers in other restaurants. They dont offer chips when they ask to take your order but does that really matter, youre going to be charged regardless and I can assure you they are never free at other restaurants. If you dont think this is real Mexican food then just go to Mexico or Baja California. Overall I would 10/10 recommend you to go here. There are other Latino restaurants you can go to but those are considered gourmet or are not authentic to Mexican cuisine.

I have ordered food to go multiple times here and it is worth the price. Sadly today during my lunch break I decided to eat in so I sat at the bar. Around 5 minutes after I sat down the drugged up looking waiter came and asked me what I wanted to drink, I told him and I also said I knew what I wanted to order, just so that the cooks can get started on it. He responded in a very annoyed way that he had to go refill another customer because "they were chocking on a taco." Not a funny joke. 5 more minutes pass and my drink still hasnt arrived, I am running out of break so I just walked out and decided to try my luck elsewhere. I guess that is it for me ever eating there again since the food is average and the service is terrible. I also will tell anybody who asks me to avoid this place unless they want to be ignored.

Was there on a Sat. evening watching a good band... my second visit. Good authentic food again, and they have a decent selection of beer and a pretty good margarita. But I still got annoyed and didnt stay long, because once again the service was slow and indifferent. Its a shame, dont know if they cant find bartenders and waitstaff or just dont have enough on duty. And why in the world does it take them 5 minutes to ring up an order behind the bar? I wish them well, Ill try again months from now and maybe the service wont be so unpleasant.

Even though its location is easy access right off of my bus, THAT doesnt take away the fact that the food is delicious, the margueritas are made to perfection, & the overall atmosphere is great!!!!! However, I was in Feb 23 & got decent service, but a black woman came in, sat at the bar & waited to be helped at least 10 mins before she walked out.. she wasnt acknowledged or anything.. but a white woman sat where she had been sitting just a few minutes later & got helped within mins!!!!! Good food, but lets be fair ppl!!!!!!

We went there last night for late drinks and food. We ordered the house margaritas, took a few sips and noticed a bug in my drink. Upon further investigation, my entire cup was filled at the bottom of fruit flies. 3 out of the four in our party had fruit flies in their drink. We then cancelled our food order for fear that fruit flies in our drinks werent our only worries. We offered to pay for what we ordered but they graciously denied our payment. Unfortunately, would never recommend this place.

Taqueria Mercado is a great choice for delicious Mexican food. The tacos are great, chile colorado, and chilaquiles con pollo. The service is quick, but paying for a check can take a bit of time - the place is always packed around lunchtime during the week. Definitely get there earlier than 11:30 if you want to sit down quickly. It seems a majority of downtown Cincinnati knows that Tacqueria is THE place to go to for authentic-styled Mexican food in the city.

The food here is great. The chips are homemade on location and are some of the best Ive ever had anywhere. the atmosphere is nice. Its on a street corner and so has nice views and good light. The service is - egh - hit or miss. Go on the wrong day at the wrong time and you might find yourself being ignored. Worth it for the great food though. Theres no parking but we can usually find street parking within a block.

Really expensive, small portions. If you want to eat down here & park close its gonna be $10 to park. If you dont come during lunch hours youre looking at $9+ for two tacos & a few bites of rice & beans. Most Mexicans restaurants its $10 for 4 tacos de carne asada. Also idk where they get off selling two tacos of tripe for the same price as all the other tacos lol. Casi $10 para dos tacos de tripa? No mames.

The food has never disappointed me. I would never have any reservation about bringing someone here for a meal. My only observation is that they have changes prices (still acceptable for the amount and quality of food) but the old prices are still on the online menu. I know what they are now, but it is a pet-peeve of mine that the price I pay matches the menu.

This is a Mexican restaurant where they need to exploit that, instead theyre trying to be more like the restaurants around them. Food was ok, service need to be more about their theme. They have a chance to be a real not just Mexican but Hispanic restaurant in downtown Cincinnati if they stay true to that.
