Finally got a chance to try Django Western Taco the other day in celebration of my birthday. Its a nice little restaurant located in the heart of Northside. They offer a small menu of tex-mex inspired dishes along with a very nice selection of wines, mixed drinks and craft beers. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is nice and relaxed with good music as a background soundtrack. If you are looking to experience something new, something a little different, then I recommend giving this place a try...you wont regret it. The food we ordered was simply delicious. The menu is small, but that allows them to prepare what is on it perfectly. We made a few selections from the menu, but there are many things that I still want to try. Each table gets started with a basket of their house made torilla chips. They are made on site and then dusted with special blend of herbs and spices. They are tasty with a little sweet, smoky flavor. You can eat the chips by themselves or you can pair it up with their salsa or guac. The first thing we tried was the Flank steak. It was cooked perfectly and served over a bed of poblano peppers, roasted corn, potatoes and onions with a fried egg on top. You have the option of adding rice but we opted not to. This dish was delicious; not too spicy, but packed with flavor. We also ordered a sampling of their tacos. The ones we tried were the al pastor, beef, shrimp and fish. Tacos al pastor consists of marinated pork, pineapple, mint and cilantro; nice light and refreshing. The beef taco is made with braised brisket topped with a horseradish crema and cilantro; equally delicious. The shrimp taco was served with spinach, a sweet chili sauce and topped with goat cheese. Our final selection, the fish taco, was made with tilapia, topped with a fresh slaw and a chipotle-lime sauce; a little sweet, a little spicy. We had all four made with corn tortillas, but you have the option of using flour if you prefer. Each of these tacos had different flavor profiles, but each one was delicious in its own way. We finished our meal with a little dessert. They have a few different selections that change from day to day, but we settled on what they call "Doughnuts." These delicious little morsels are very similar to Churros. Deep fried little dough balls that are seasoned with a cinnamon-sugar mix and served with a chocolate sauce. Very simple, very delicious.

Have been here several times (one of my favorites in Cincy), but this was first time since new owners. Previously would have given 4-5 stars. Now 1 star. Chorizo tasted like a very mild breakfast sausage. Had no chorizo flavor. My last visit, I had the chili rellenos and it was a real treat. Not on the menu, but thought I would try the stuffed poblano as it sounded similar. It was a mess of flavors and not well prepared. Shrimp tacos had no spinach, but were supposed to. And too heavy on the sauce. Cornbread, with jalapeno and bacon, used to be a treat. Now comes out as mini-muffins without the slightest hint of bacon or jalapeno, and a little tough/chewy. Had more flavorful from Hostess. One of the few times I did not finish a meal. If you liked it before it is waaay different now. Stone bowl (was awesome) and cowboy stew are no longer on the menu either. Sad the old place is gone. Wont be back to this one.

This was my first time visiting. We were unfortunately in a rush so I didnt get to take it all in as I would have liked to. I had three of their tacos; the fried chicken, the carne asada and the shrimp. All three were delicious! They all had a nice balance of flavors. I really enjoyed the jalapeño honey and pamento and cheese on the fried chicken taco. I had a house margarita while I was there. Not sure if it was on purpose but there was salt on the bottom of the glass which made for an interesting first sip. Definitely will come back to try the rest of the menu.

The atmosphere was nice and the staff are fantastic. The food was okay. Nothing special or spectacular for the overpriced menu. The chicken bbq tacos were bland, mostly due to all the sauce being at the very bottom of the taco, and not actually on any of the chicken. The chicken itself didnt have much flavor to it, pretty bland. The salsa and chips were good. The verde was tangy without being spicy, which is a nice change. Overall, for the price, Id go elsewhere for tasty tacos, but this is a decent little hangout joint in Northside.

Didnt eat, looked delicious. Story: Went in, were told a 30 minute wait and decided to get takeout. The host sent us to the bar to place an order. Were handily ignored for over 10 minutes, which seemed fine because the bartender was busy making drinks. However, as soon as he was done a couple came in and sat at the bar and were immediately greeted and their orders taken. Sad, because I wanted to try the tacos.

The food was great. I got two carnito tacos and queso. The drinks are good too. Lots of beer options and a few mixed drinks options. Im not sure if we went on an off day, but the staff seemed very frazzled and stressed out to the point that we could tell. It wasnt a busy day either so Im not sure what was going on but it definitely gave off a weird vibe. Ill try it again on a different day, people have bad days.

Its 73 degrees and sunny out, the smell of fresh shrimp and cilantro instantly hit me. I walked through the back door of a cool local beer cave called Higher Gravity and found DJango Western Tacos. With just a small table and tent these two not so very cordial people served up the freshest shrimp, goat cheese, cilantro, aruegla on fresh tortillas. Go just because you need a snack!!!

Still has some good offerings but the new owners changed the menu so much never go to try some of the great things Id heard of such as cowboy stew. Hope things turn around and this place improves the menu and brings back some of the old favorites but for now this rating will stand until some changes occur

Might be okay if the wait staff could get it together. A whole lot of them running around but no action. 15 minutes after they took our order for margaritas they came back apologetically and comped them 5 minutes later. The chips and salsa were mediocre and the rest of the menu looked expensive.

Ruined our Valentines Day plans, put in our reservation wrong and considered us a no show. Later said they could accommodate us the came back 30 minutes later to tell us there would be no food. There was no where else to get a meal at that hour. Set the tone for the worst Valentines Day ever.
