First of all I am not one to waist my time with matters like this. But I feel it serves no one not to keep businesses in check. I have eating in a lot of upscale resturants in the Raleigh area for decades. Sullivans, Ruths Cris. Second Empire, to name a few. This past week end I decided to take my wife to nice hotel and have a saturday night out just bcause she deserves it, and shes a good wife and mom. We stayed at the Renaissance at North Hills. We decided to venture out for dinner. Ruths Cris was the first choice. The dininng room was booked, and this was not an occassion to have a fine meal in the lounge area being mothers day weekend. We went to the Bone Fish Grill which had lots of people meandering about outside. obviously waiting for a spot on the list. We passed Mid Town Grill and decided to return to give them a shot. There wasn no prime, or filet on the menu. We wanted beef, and from what we saw on the menu didnt reassure us. Prices ranged from $26.00 - $30.00. The waitress said that they had a special for the evening " tenderloin", I said that that sounds good. No mention of price though. Maybe Im naive, but I always thought that a special was to cost or atleast be priced at or near menu pricing. We ordered to glasses of wine, $19.00 total. When the wine arrived, I was taken aback. 6 onces to the glass. I just never experieneced this before at any establishment. The filets were the smallest I have ever had as well. The asparagus were the size of almost speghetti noodles. There were little potatos on the plates. The taste was more than ok but didnt knock my socks off. When the bill came, it blew me away. $107.00. Mind you, there is still the matter of a tip for the waitress that never returned to check on us at no point after the meal was served. I have purchased $7 dollar bolltles of wine that had better flavor than what I was served. My meal was eating in an instant. Hardly enough to satisfy a 11 year old. My wife told me to take it easy, but I felt compelled to approach the manager and say something. He said that the waitress was suppost to mention the price in the presentation, and that he was allowed to pour 6 ounces by some sought of standards. I paid the bill and left a $10.00 tip. I would have left more for the tip, but felt so taken advantage of. At 4:00 AM I awoke In this nice hotel room feeling famishished, and stomach growling like crazy. I couldnt wait for breakfast. Will not return or recommend to friends or family.

Used to love Capers - the restaurant that Midtown was before it became Midtown. Awesome. We have been to Midtown about 6 times in the last two years. Each time it has gotten progressively worse. This time, we sent 2 appetizers back and would have sent 2 entrees back had we not felt that the management would think we were trying to get a free meal. WE WERE NOT! The brussel sprout appetizer was anything but...it was cold and it seemed that the sprouts had been boiled, not carmelized and brown like you would want them to be. The grilled romaine salad had absolutely no hint of having been grilled. Maybe it passed over the grill on the way to the plate. The Fettuccine was inedible - it just tasted awful, but the mushrooms in it were good. The Salmon topped with Portobello mushrooms (an odd combination, at best) was not good. We spent well over $150 for 3 entrees and taking off the 2 appetizers!) I want to be overwhelmed by a meal at Midtown. I wasnt and I havent been - not for a very long time. Something is very wrong in the kitchen.

Ruined my husbands Fathers Day. I expected so much more as I work in the industry and have heard positive things about this place. Took 15 minutes just to get a greet when they were not even busy. Another 10 minutes for a first round once he came. Food came in reasonable time and wasnt terrible but very small portions for the price and lacking flavor/skimpy on ingredients. Literally NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. Where was the manager???? How do you let people leave your restaurant looking as unhappy as we did? I would never let my guests leave unhappy especially on a special occasion. There was no manager in sight. It was just a really disappointing experience and really sorry for my husband on his special day. Definitely wont go back.

Midtown Grille is a nice looking restaurant with a relatively good waitstaff. However, the food leaves a little to be desired. The food quality is approaching fine dining, but because of short cuts and odd food combination it falls short. I would really just like to comment on the Mahi Mahi dish that I ordered. It was a plate with things which did not go together. A seed crusted salmon that was spicy with frozen peas and corn sprinkled with curry powder and then some salsa out of a bottle on the side. Those items just dont go together. Further why are you using salsa out of a bottle and frozen vegetables? Peas and corn are currently in season locally. Id have to give Midtown Grille two thumbs down.

I have taken both my girlfriend and my mother to this restaurant and we cannot stop raving about it. The food is amazingly good, and whats more they give you just the right amount! I dont leave feeling bloated and disgusting. So far I have tried the hanger steak and the pork chop and they both tie for the best meal I have had in my life. It really seems like Midtown is in a totally different league from other restaurants in this price range. The waitstaff have been fantastic as well, perfectly remembering and describing 8-10 specials in addition to being very friendly and answering our questions about the chef and the restaurant. I really cant wait to bring more people here.

Everything tasted good and had a nice "chefs touch" without being pretentious. Great wine selection. Friendly and engaging wait staff (since this restaurant is "owner-verified listing" on google...our servers name was Jessica). Great outdoor seating; although its right next to a funnel cake joint next door. Pricing wasnt bad considering the quality and ambience. We were able to walk out under $100 (not including the tip) for 2 entrees, a bottle of wine, and dessert. So, obviously not a place where I can dine every week, but definitely a nice place to go for a special occasion, date, or business meeting.

The prices are moderate. And the menu has a lot of good things to eat. We had the same problems from two different employees. And it was time to leave. And each time we got a free beverage. The waitstaff not want to write down the menu.We had to tell them to do job.Gave food and ask us if want anything more. Yell and interrupt. Talk back rude, yell at and interrupt us, rush to get rid of us, complain to us not a tip. Walk away from us while we were talking to them. It became a problem. The hamburger was salty and spicy. The decor is nice. Eat food while wait on us.
