We dont like this place... we love it. We just moved to South Lockport about a year ago and this has been our restaurant of choice ever since. I figured it was about time I sat down and wrote a review since were there at least once a week! Place: The building is super cool - I love how there is a full sit down restaurant, outdoor tiki bar and patio, tap room, and an upstairs area for private events. If we didnt already have our upcoming wedding venue booked, we would seriously consider renting this place out! Oh, I should also add that their outdoor patio is dog friendly so thats a plus for us. Beer and dogs is the perfect combination. Food: Im a picky eater and usually once I find something I like, I stick with the same thing at restaurants. However, at NYBP, Ive tried something new on the menu every time weve come here. My fiancé and I are slowly eating and drinking our way around the menu! For appetizers, weve had the fried pickles and the giant pretzel. The pretzel normally comes with 3 dipping sauces but our servers have typically given us extra sauces at no extra charge (cream cheese, frosting, peanut butter, etc.) I would recommend getting the pretzel during happy hour because it is a little bit pricey - but still delicious! They have a "flight" section of their menu that features smaller portions of some of their larger menu items. Ive had the pizza flight, taco flight, and a special fish fry flight during lent. Everything was amazing, but my least favorite was the tacos. Dont get me wrong, they were still good.. but this isnt a "taco place." For burgers and sandwiches weve had the Buffalo chicken sandwich, breakfast at Tiffanys burger, the Central Park, the mac & cheese pulled pork sandwich, and the smoked brisket sandwich. My fiancé and I usually end up splitting each others sandwiches because they are all SO good. I think my favorite right now would be the Central Park burger. Drinks: If youre looking for cheap bottled beer or a variety of wines, this isnt the place for you. Its called New York BEER Project. While the beer menu may look small at times, please note that this place brews all of the beers on their menu. The beer menu is constantly rotating and the brewmasters are always trying new things. For example, right now theyre doing a Perrys Ice Cream collaboration and its called the "Panda Paws Porter." I believe a dollar of each pint goes to the new childrens hospital downtown. What could be better than drinking for a good cause? In addition to all of their fantastic house brews, I have to specifically mention the Supernatural Sour and the Walters Jelly Donut. These beers are amazeballs. If you like sour beer, try the Supernatural. Its honestly the most sour beer Ive tried from a variety of places and we keep coming back for more. Service: We have yet to have a bad experience with any of the wait staff at NYBP. Even when the wait for a table is long, I love that they offer a text service to notify you when a table is ready. This gives you the chance to wander around the brewery and hit up the tiki bar or the tap room for some good drinks before dinner. We have never waited more than 20 minutes for a table and I think our longest wait was on Memorial Day when it was super packed. On several occasions, we have been met at our table by members of the management team (I wish I got their names so I could compliment them here!). They seem like theyre actually invested in how your food, drinks, and experience are. Its really nice to see that. Price: For $50.00 for two people, you could order the same amount of food at the local Applebees. But, why would you want to? This place makes their food fresh and the portions are huge. The beers are well worth it because youre not getting some overpriced Coors or Bud Light. All in all, well definitely be back (probably this weekend) and well continue eating our way around the menu. Im so glad that someone opened up a fantastic place like this near Lockport.

My wife and I have tried this place 3 times, twice in house and once as take out. We went on Thanksgiving for a couple drinks after our company had left and love the architecture and atmosphere. We sat at the rear bar and talked with a couple staff members for a couple hours. They were not serving food on Thanksgiving but still had a large crowd and were very very friendly. We went back again a couple days later to try the food and get a drink for lunch. The hostess and waitress were very friendly and helpful. We started with the pretzel appetizer which was very very good. The unidentified dip and mustard dip were quite good but the cheese dip was far less appealing. We then ordered burgers, each of a different kind. She had the Coney Island burger and loved it, I had a different burger which was also very good. The hand cut fries were very good as well. The service while friendly was slow. All told we were there for an hour and a 1/2. I found it odd that food is all served on thin metal round trays with food service paper in between the tray and food. While I think its meant to be part of the presentation the paper held up poorly to the food. At this point we thought a little experience and getting acclimated was certainly needed for this new establishment. Our take out experience from here went very poorly. We live less than 2 miles away and arrived promptly. Again, the people were extremely friendly. When I asked for my order to take out they couldnt locate it. A very apologetic waitress went from POS machine to POS machine searching for our missing order. After 10 minutes or so she asked who we had spoken to and what we had ordered before searching again. A short time later she returned to ask for the detailed order, I also have her the phone number I had left and name. She involved a manager who came out to tell me they disposed of the first pizza as it didnt come out to their liking and it would be an additional 15 minute wait as they remade it. he offered me a beer and my daughter a soda at no charge as we waited. The pizza came out 2 minutes later (not 15). After they re-punched in the order and we paid for the food we got right home. The appetizer we had ordered was quite literally cold from sitting and the wings were luke warm at best. The pizza was decent and was the only thing still hot. We would have strong reservations about ever ordering takeout here again after the debacle it turned into. Bottom line, its better in house than as take out

Hit and miss~Been here several times and it really is hit or miss. First, the wait for a table is usually not as long as they say which is great. The texting me when my table is ready is a new modern way of doing things but twice I have missed the text because I didnt hear my phone in a loud bar! Bright flashing pucks may be old school but why reinvent the wheel? The patio was lovely the first couple of times we ate out there. Pretty and relaxing atmosphere with the foliage and the private garden setting (despite the traffic noise) but last night the flies were biting so bad we couldnt wait to leave. (And of course our waitress was painfully slow) The service has been hit and miss as well...sometimes you get a competent server and sometimes not so much...and it seems lately it is usually the latter. The hostess station seems to be a much too large group of very young people who are not very organized and seem to be tripping over each other. Quite honestly the lack of professionalism there is a huge turn off. It looks like a group of high school kids just hanging around. The hostess is a patrons first impression of what to expect from an establishment and this one screams incompetence. The food is tasty, priced fair, portions are large and is usually a hit. It is pub food after all, not gourmet so my expectations are not too high in that regard in the first place. The wings are really good...I usually eat my wings hot but their "hot" is too hot for me so if you like em really hot check these out! Mac n cheese...always a winner. The beer is fun to taste and try. It would be nice if there were more to choose from. The beers are always changing so if you didnt like them a few months ago you might like them now because they are all different! Hopefully the beer selection will expand with time so that its less hit and miss. All in all ...if they would hire more competent staff and keep expanding their beer selection and dear god do something about those flies it would be my go to place to hang out for a burger and a beer or to meet friends out... but right now it is really hit and miss.
