Like others here have said, this place is AWFUL. I will never go back and waste my time or money here. We walked in and were seated promptly, but they didnt bother to even offer us a seat for our 1 year old infant. After several minutes someone came for our drink order and we asked them for a child seat. Several minutes later they returned with one of the plastic booster seats, NOT one of the wooden chairs. A few minutes later another person tried to take our drink order again, illustrating how disorganized they are. After another 5 minutes or so someone finally came to take our order and bring chips and salsa. The salsa, often an indicator of how good a Mexican restaurant is, was runny, bland and loaded with gigantic hunks of onions and whole cilantro leaves, which made it inedible. My Fiance finished her Dr. Pepper (It didnt take long since it was ALL ice) and we had to flag down our waiter for a refill after several more minutes of him walking past us. She tells him "Dr. Pepper", he asks her "diet?", which I personally was insulted by as she is in incredible shape and does not drink diet sodas, not to mention that it is his JOB to remember simple things like a drink order. After wrestling with trying to keep our infant in a plastic booster, we finally just moved ourselves to the table beside us where there were TWO of the wooden child seats that have the lap-belts on them. We ended up getting up and walking out after waiting for our food for FORTY MINUTES and never being acknowledged. Dont waste your time with this place, there are FAR better Mexican restaurants in Raleigh than this sad excuse for a business. We didnt even get to eat here. We got better service at the sandwich place we went to afterward.

As previous reviews say, good food poor customer service. Our waitress was to busy watching another server do magic tricks with a dollar bill to realise we needed something. They were all huddled at the front trying to get more tables and less concerned with the customers they already had. Do not be afraid to call out for them, it is the only eay youll get any service. Also they do not serve normal sour cream here, they water it down to liquid state and call it Mexican sour cream. Nothing Mexican about it, it is called being cheap. Tables were nice but they crammed everyone to close to the table, you get an inch or two to move and thats it. If they spaced the benches out it would be better, I am fat but not that fat. Even my 118lbs wife had issues and she is tiny. Good food but beware it is not authentic Mexican food it is East coast Mexican food with ingredients you would only find here, better than most but still not quite authentic. In Mexico or Texas you can get authentic here it is everyones unique twist on authentic with more concern for being hip and less concern on authentic. Also parking is a nightmare and has several blindspots in the lot and as you go to exit a high risk of being sideswiped due to bushes blocking yours and oncoming traffics view. Better traffic flow design could be done. I would eat here again but would likely tip less and speak up more.

Went there last night for dinner with a couple of other people and this was by far not only the worst mexican restaurant I have ever ate at but one of the worst restaurants Ive ate at period. The chips were cooked way to long and tasted burnt, the cheese dip was stringy and hard, the waitress completely gave me a steak burrito instead of beef, had to ask for thing 3 or 4 times, has to ask other waiters/waitresses for things, and it wasnt even busy. And the food wasnt even good, I ordered a need burrito deluxe, got a steak instead and I couldnt even eat it a 1/4th of it, and when I asked to speak to someone, no one ever came. It had obviously sat for several minutes before being brought to our table, the cheese was already hardened. Not to mention it took 30+ minutes to get our food, and like I said it wasnt busy at all. I would never go back here again, I would literally drive 45 mins to another mexican restaurant if I had to. Literally nothing I can compliment them on.

UPDATE: This place has changed bad. I changed from 5 star to 1 star. This place gets cheaper & cheaper. First it was small things. eg they put almost no fruit in the sangria. But now they added strict rules about what I could order. Even Taco Bell will modify things. Almost any place will. The worse one (IMO) is no more soft tacos. (Only hard tacos.) Seriously: if I wanted hard tacos Id go to taco bell. Their (former) soft tacos were great, & the main reason *why* I went. Id request (eg) extra tomatoes, pintos, & lettuce. None of that is okay anymore. The server said their manager had created these rules. Bleh. **What I originally said** First, their "happy hour" is great: $1 tacos. Plus, they refilled our salsa when we ran out which was very important to me. Everything tasted fine. I dont drink alcohol, but my friend said their Sangria was great. I could see it had lots of real fruit in it.

If I could give this place less than 1 star I would! Went there tonight and got terrible service. I am vegan so I asked for a taco salad with no meat, cheese, or sour cream. 1st taco salad they brought out had ground beef in it. Sent it back. 2nd taco salad had no refried beans, it was just lettuce and rice. I told the server and she got an attitude and said I asked for only rice when I didnt. So I just asked her to bring out a side of refried beans for it. They then brought out refried beans covered in cheese which I dont eat because Im vegan! I then asked for just refried beans without cheese. They then proceeded to bring out a bowl of black beans. By this time I was done and said forget it and they then charged me for the black beans which I neither asked for or touched. I will NEVER be going back to this place again. They not only mess up your order but are then rude about it.

This restaurant located at the corner of Crabtree Valley Mall it kind of surprise me because being part of a restaurant chain it was able to be original and put out good food consistently. Ive been there 5 times and these 5 times I had always the beef medallions with onions and cilantro. Very rich blend vegetables with the onion and cilantro tender steak a bit short on salt seasoning and thats the only less on my review. Great lemon margaritas Junbo size very well-balanced in flavor. Service or cant put anything bad on the service . very quick very happy people smiling maybe because Im a fluent Spanish speaker I cannot tell but I cannot throw anything at the service you know if all of times I was there so I do not understand the reasoning behind this service complaints.

Ive gone to La Rancherita for lunch a few times and enjoyed the food. What prompted me to write a review this time is that I had some spare time, was passing by, and decided to have lunch there by myself as a break from the usual fast-food fare. I had the Fajita Quesadilla and was quite pleased with the portion size, taste and quality. Although nothing exotic, I quite enjoyed my lunch. Also important to me, since I was dining alone, was that the food came quickly; I was able to order, eat, and pay in a fairly short time. I will definitely be going back.
