When my boyfriend and I arrived on a Friday night at 8 pm, we walked to the host stand. SEVERAL of the waitstaff went by without any regard for us. We stood there for about 5 minutes before WE went to track someone down. Finally, we were seated. The food was standard, prices were great. The margarita (what should be a Mexican restaurant staple) was extremely watery, and not worth the $4 we paid for it. The restaurant was not very busy, but the service was absolutely HORRIBLE. The waiter took our order after we stopped him, someone else ran the food out, and he never came back to the table until my boyfriend went inside to ask for the check. When I went to the restroom, all of the servers were chatting behind the bar, and two were texting on their phones. The service was so bad and the food was so average that I will not be returning to this restaurant.

How sad I was today when I ordered the El Rodeo salad, what I have always consider the most delicious salad I had ever eaten to be so disappointed in what I was served today at El Rodeo in Bright leaf square. For years I knew I could count on receiving a fair portion for my money. But today not only had they reduce the portion size of all the ingredients they charged me the same price. That salad was the only thing that drew me and my coworker as well as my family of five to this particular restaurant. Sad but true, we will not be going back. Cant afford to pay for something and get almost nothing in return.

Coworkers recommended this place so I figured Id give it a shot. Big mistake. Wrong food delivered, hard tacos came to the table smashed, rude waiter who was unapologetic, waited forever to get a refill, and charged the wrong amount for what I ordered (waiter even argued with me about it when I showed him the price in the menu). Definitely will not be recommending this place to anyone.

My food was vet I good, it didnt take long to receive it. My Margarita was great, the only things I Didnt like where my tortilla had too much of a buttery taste and they charge 4$ got that little bowl of cheese dip. Other than that everything was great and I will be back. Service was great!

The food was Excellent!! Service was very fast and friendly. The salsa and queso were delicious and everything was reasonably priced. The margaritas were amazing, huge, and very well priced. Some of the best Mexican food I have ever eaten....Highly recommended!!!

Standard AmeriMex, and pretty tasty. Vegans beware, there are items in the vegetarian menu that include cheese even though its not included in the menu description. Be explicit when you order. Thats why Im only giving them three stars.

Okay dining. The margaritas were great (especially there $1.99 special). Food was okay, nothing great. If this restaurant were anywhere else itd be good, but compared to the rest of the Durham restaurants it was mediocre.

Great food! Excellent service. So glad we found this restaurant. I was worried that we wouldnt find good Mexican food in Durham (all the other restaurants seemed super hip or super cheap), but El Rodeo saved the day!

Worst steak fajita that i had in my life. They use very very low quality meat, fry it with animal fat. As a cook quaily of the meat is 2 out of 10.
