Awesome breakfast! The grits were excellent, the biscuits tasty, the sweet tea perfect, and the main dish was amazing. Service was true Southern hospitality! And the prices were great. This place is better than Cracker Barrel (or at least comparable). March 2011. **********Came back to Maggie Valley in September 2011 and tried out Joeys Pancake House for breakfast on the first day, which is just down the road from CV. Turns out that despite the reviews, Joeys doesnt hold a candle to Country Vittles. We ended up eating at Country Vittles every morning thereafter while in Maggie Valley. Seriously, the best breakfast and sweet tea in town. The corn beef hash is to die for.************

My family and I love Maggie Valley so much we purchased a cabin so we can visit more often. We eat at Joeys and Country Vittles many times a year and we enjoy both establishments. The staff at Country Vittles is very friendly and will go out of their way to make you feel at home. The gravy and biscuits are the best in town. I dont write many reviews, but when I saw that nydebi from New York had left negative reviews at some of my favorite restaurants I had to respond. She even rated one restaurant poorly because they required reservations and could not seat her. Go Figure!! Final Note: Why would a vegetarian even go in a place called Country Vittles? To complain?

This place is okay. We didnt realize what time they closed so we did walk in a little close to closing, but we just wanted a quick bite anyways. We were seated quickly and ordered. My food was good, but my boyfriends was not. His okra was not cooked thoroughly, and his green beans were not hot. We understand we were a couple of the last customers and we normally wouldnt go so close to closing, but we didnt know. The waitress seemed to try and rush us, and wasnt very friendly. Hopefully theyre nicer to their customers during the day.

Smokey Mountain Vittles at its Best Breakfast is always great! It is served family style and all you care to eat. It includes Eggs(cooked any way you like them), Bacon, Sausage,Fried potatoes w/onions and bell peppers, Biscuits, And Gravy. Very Affordable, Nothing Fancy just country cooking at its best. All the staff have always been friendly and very attentive to our needs. If you are from the south and love home cooked breakfast try Country Vittles. We did and have been back numerous times since.

We were looking for a good place to eat in Maggie Valley and Country Vittles delivered. We went for breakfast and all had the all you can eat meal. I normally am worried about all you can eat meals, but in this situation case there was no reason to worry. Not only was a great deal worth tons of food, but it all tasted great. The potatoes especially were to die for. It was so good we almost went back for our next meal. Make sure to give this a try if youre in the area.

I went there today. I have a bad leg and the woman at the register was very rude. During my meal I got up and went to the bathroom. I saw her and next whispering behind the menu and looking at me. When me and my husband left to let him go pay. He said she watch me walk out the door and when her handed him the money back she put it down on her hand real rough. I love going to Maggie Valley but I will never visit that place again if they make fun of people with handicaps.

I dont know what you are used to eating but this place is disgusting. We got the family style dinner and the fried chicken was so dry and overcooked. The country fried steak was just those frozen patties that you fry. Yuk. The green beans were right out of the can as was the corn and the potatoes were instant. I dont think $12.45 plus tax and tip for this meal was fair What a rip. Go to Carvers down the street.

We came to this restaurant for lunch while we rented a cabin for a week. The food was excellent! The best dumplings I have ever eaten. This is also a great choice if you have any kids. We spoke with the lady, Judy, that has ran the restaurant for 30 years. She was extremely sweet and nice. We did not have to wait for the food long at all! Would definitely visit this restaurant if you are in Maggie Valley!

The daily special was frozen deep fried catfish, tartar sauce squeeze packets had gone bad, corn bread muffins were dry, pinto beans had come out of a can (we could not identify the hard piece of meat in the pintos), Cole slaw was not tasty, cheese in the bacon cheese grilled sandwich tasted like rubber. We had three poor meals out of the three we ordered.. The biscuits were good, though.

"OK" food and experience. This restaurant is fairly basic and straightforward. Maybe I am jaded because we often cook and eat at home, but the food here was nothing special, just the typical Southern-inspired meals. Prices are fair and portions are well-sized. Basically, if youve been to a Cracker Barrel, then youve been here; there is even the Cracker Barrel-style gift shop in the front.

Well my wife and I were on our way back from cherokee and was looking for a place to get a decent meal when we ran across this place. We were a little hesitant when we walked in because it is a older building but I will tell u this the food was excellent and the staff is great. I drink alot when I eat and my cup never once ran dry. We will definitely be back next trip.

The service was fine but the food was terrible. I would have prefered generic fish sticks from the grocery to what they were serving as catfish strips. Periodic pockets of old grease in the fish made it even worse. Though I could clearly make out the cabbage in the cole slaw, I could only taste mayo and sugar. I will not be visiting this restaurant again.

We rode down to Maggie Valley over the 4th of July long weekend, and ended up having dinner here for the three nights we were in town. The food was good and the service was quick. The other folks in our party had breakfast there each morning and loved it. Nothing fancy here but if you are looking for a decent meal at a reasonable price, then stop in.

Awesomeness! Tell decor is dated, but the place is way soooo clean and organized. The staff was extremely hard working, helpful and pleasant. This is our second trip in two days. We had the Family Style Breakfast which is all you can eat. The first round was plenty for us all. The food was all prepared very nicely and consistent.

Very fun place. They have the best cornbread that I have found. True Appalachian cornbread, a little gritty and not at all sweet. Mmmmm! I like to get the all you can eat family style dinner but the whole menu is good. The mashed potatoes are a disappointment though, they are clearly out of a box. Try the vinegar pie!

Been here a few times hoping for better results but unfortunatly the food is consistently terrible the service is usually great but this place is a kitchen nightmare for sure so if your on a vacation in maggie do your family a favor and go somewhere else this information gladly provided by a local.
