Highly recommend this restaurant for its friendly neighborhood atmosphere and Francos family recipes. Its authentic Italian food and is the best Italian restaurant in the area. We have eaten there probably 40 times in the past 3 years--it has become our go to Italian restaurant and worthy of the drive to HVL from Asheville. Sandy and Franco are a hard-working team helping to ensure that everyone leaves satisfied and full of delicious REAL Italian food. Sandy provides great service, is very efficient and even greets you by name. Franco produces authentic Italian food and plentiful portions and enjoys speaking with you in Italian. Often times I try something new on their menu. Last visit I tried the Veal Mona Lisa---very tender veal scallops with a pink sauce with capers over al dente penne pasta. Its now my new favorite menu item. Other dishes of note: the Caesar salad is lightly dressed and if you like anchovies theyre mild and not too salty; the home made egg pasta with sauce is very good; their timballo (lasagna) is cheesy and delicious; the cheese ravioli w/ buttery walnuts is divine; the spicy zuppa de pesce is filled with scampi, etc. and is a large portion. I could go on but I think youll get the idea....its all good.

In 2007 my husband and I were in Hendersonville and were fortunate enough to have heard about the new Italian eatery everyone was raving about. They were right. We enjoyed our meal so much. So this year, when we went back during Thanksgiving and couldnt look at another piece of turkey, we returned to Mona Lisa hoping it had not changed. Well, it did change ... it GOT BETTER!! We had a fantastic meal and loved every bite. I only wish we had a Mona Lisa where we live in Georgia. The only negative we noticed was in the vodka martini we ordered, which we thought had been watered down. Next time well have our cocktail BEFORE we get to the restaurant!

This place might just be the best restaurant in all of Hendersonville. Its definitely the best Italian in town. The pizza is excellent, especially with their ultra thinly sliced sausage. The meatballs are so soft and tender they wince at just the sight of a fork. No kidding, the meatballs are divine. So is the homemade pasta. Its the only place my children clean their plates (hello, handmade ravioli!). And the service? None better in town. They treat you like family and remember my family and our favorite dishes.

I dont get all the great reviews. Maybe we hit this place on an off night. Servers were pleasant and efficient, but the food was mediocre at best. When I order a side of sautéed spinach in a well-reviewed Italian restaurant, I dont expect to be served frozen spinach. Prices here are comparable to top-notch Italian restaurants I have eaten at in other cities. Ive had much better fare at many other mom and pop, neighborhood establishments charging half as much. Only my opinion, but caveat emptor.

Not impressed, the long wait..tolerable, the food...not worth the price, the chicken Alfredo was watery and the chicken tasted frozen, but the customer service was bad. I understand you are busy but at least acknowledge/greet your customers that have been waiting, dont just pass by in front of them without at least a smile. We saw a man walk out due to this rudeness. Im glad we tried it, been there done that..never again

WOW!!! the food is undoubtedly the best Italian food Ive ever tasted I loved the charm of the atmosphere the staff was very helpful and well presented very clean restaurant the glasses were spotless and my waitress Amanda Damiani was such a sweet and attentive young lady I have found my favorite regular dining restaurant its reasonably priced and delicious!!!

Friendly service and delicious food! Our waitress was wonderful. She made great wine recommendations, made us laugh and even gave us a free scoop of thier homemade cookies and cream Icecream. Everyone was incredibley satisfied with thier food. We ordered the gnocchi in marinara, lasagna, shrimp diablo and the veal and shrimp in a white wine sauce.

We go to Mona Lisas almost every Friday night for the past 2 years; I feel like we have found "Hendersonvilles little Secret" We have always had a fablous meal (Their steaks are amazing!!!) and the service is always perfessional. My favorite restaurant in NC! Great service always, plenty of delicious and excellent food, no matter what Ive ordered. Ive never had any bad experiences or food! Wish parking was better, but thats the only little bit but nothing to really complain over considering how wonderful it! Highly recommended!

It was my first time there today, I just dropped in for pick up on a pepperoni pizza. The atmosphere was warm and cozy, the servers were polite and friendly, the food was priced well, not to mention everything is 20% off for the entire month of October. Got home and ate 3 slices :] Im a happy camper

The food is very good .everything else not so good. There really bad thing is weve been there 6 times and have found them closed 3 of those times when their posted hours say they should be open, tonight will probably be the last time. Closed 30 minutes early with customers still inside.

Great place food and service excellent, small menu but great tasting, good value and wont leave you spending too much. We got there at 5:30 on Friday night and able to get a table for 4 and by the time we left at 7:00 it was full with people waiting outside. Suggest making a reservation

One of those corner hidden gems that food critics write and rave about. The food is excellent and authentic. Yes, they do have spaghetti and meatballs but the pasta is homemade and I only wish I could make a meatball like that. A great choice and I wish I had discovered it sooner.

Wonderful atmosphere. "Fireplace" is going on this cold evening, aiding the ambiance. Cheese pizza, garden salad with house dressing, and garlic bread. All delicious; and friendly, efficient service. Our first time here...we will return for an actual meal (rather than pizza).

Totally dissatisfied. The last time I will eat here. After voicing my problem to the owner he acted like he didnt care. $18 of a half plate of pasta and 4 shrimp and runny Alfredo is highway robbery. And to act like he didnt care was enough for me. I am done with Mona Lisa.

I have eaten in the restaurant with a large group before a play and they served everyones meal in a very timely manner and it was fabulous !!! Have also had several dishes carry out - the food is amazing and the service is superior. I LOVE this restaurant !!!

Just went there with my parents who live in Hendersonville. The food was great! We each got different entrees. Everything was fresh, tasted great! Atmosphere and service stellar. The chef came out from the kitchen to say hi. I would highly recommend

Best Italian in Hendersonville. Another reviewer was complaint about the lack of spaghetti. Its true, they dont have spaghetti and meatballs... They have homemade pasta and meatballs, and its 100% better than any dried spaghetti could ever be.

The food was very delicious and the waiters are hard working and would always check up on you and see if you were pleased, my cup wouldnt even get low on water they would always refill very quickly the prices are reasonable I loved the restaurant.
