We had such high hopes. This cute little Italian restaurant in the Poinsett corridor was beckoning to us to try it. The wait service was friendly and no wait at 6:30 on a weeknight to be seated. The bread was flaky and warm. But it stops there. All pasta is flown in from Italy, which might sound appealing, but guys, in house would be fresher, better. My Frey White Zinfandel wine had an aftertaste of old shoe. The side salad with each entree was chopped romaine and spinach blend that had a fair tasting creamy balsamic but left a lot to be desired. My tomatoe wedge still had a core in it. In the peak of summer, my tomato did not taste fresh. :( the bread was served with what I hope was EVOO mixed with sundried tomatoes, but was tasteless. A high quality EVOO with pepper wouldve been simpler and better. And the main course? Scallops and lobster ravioli in a lemon sauce? Well, my 4-5 medium sized ravioli swam, literally swam in about 1.5 of broth that was almost overflowing my plate I thought I had mistakenly ordered the soup. My 3 scallops were just steamed in, not sautéed or browned, and it was just a soupy, lemony bland mess. My husbands chicken cutlet was covered in a cup of melty cheese and spinach was in a bland tomato sauce that lacked proper execution of seasoning and herbs. Very sad indeed. Just save your $20-25 per plate and go instead to Olive Garden. If youre looking for Italian with fresh, light; flavorful sauces that let the ingredients speak for themselves, then look somewhere else.

Last night was a special birthday dinner and Bocca had been recommend to us - thank goodness. Wouldnt have wanted to miss it. We had reservations and were about 30 min early, which was no problem. We were directed to our seats, rather than escorted, which did not bother us in the least, as some other interviewers have complained about. A knowledgeable waitress soon appeared with menus and a wine list and took drink orders, which came quickly and were perfectly made, returned after enough time for us to study the menu, answered some questions about things they might possibly make that werent on the menu. (Yes, they will.) The bread and salad dressing were excellent, the dishes were hot and fresh with very generous portions. Our water was refilled frequently, empty dishes removed quickly, leftovers taken away to be boxed - hate it when a server just hands you a couple styrofoam boxes. And the manager stopped by to greet us. Saw some complaints in reviews that servers did not check by the tables often enough. Frankly, we prefer to be pretty much left alone to enjoy our food and conversation, maybe asked once if everything is satisfactory, and found the service just to our liking. The salted caramel ice cream dessert and the tiramisu were excellent. Cant wait to go back. (Suggest reservations as the restaurant quickly filled and stayed full the whole time we were there.)

The service is beyond awful. 4 tables occupied, plenty of servers and many dirty tables. We chose a table and waited for about 6 minutes for a server. He took our order and said he was bringing bread. Didnt bring bread and it took another 10 minutes to get our salad. We had to ask for silverware which took another 5 minutes. No apologies. Instead he told us the bread "was fresh out of the oven." I would have expected it to be warm considering the oven comment. I had the ceasar salad which had dressing on one piece of lettuce. We ordered mozzarella cheese sticks, which never came. When our dinner was brought out, we asked that the cheese sticks be removed from the bill. The server said, "It was put in but I never saw it." We had to ask for more water then had to wait and wait for it. The food was very good but not so great to ever go back to the terrible service.

Amazing! The owner was so hospitable to us! We stayed for an hour past when we had finished eating and he saw that we were enjoying ourselves so he brought out a free dessert. I dont know that he does that all the time but it was amazing and definitely made us want to come back. Some restaurants try to shoo you out as soon as youre done eating but he was totally fine with us staying and enjoying ourselves even if we werent ordering any more food. The service was spectacular and my water was never more than half empty. it is a little bit more expensive then a place like olive garden but its definitely worth it. Entrees were between 12 and 25 dollars. I will definitely be going back!

Delicious! Very authentic italian food and personal service. The Caesar salad is great. The fried mozzarella is distinctly different and superior than any other I have ever had. Every entree that I have tried has been very good. The classic pizza and spaghetti bolognese are delicious. You will also find many dishes that you have never heard of before but will be eager to try. Best Italian restaurant in the Upstate easy. Desert was insane. If you go on weekend night make a reservation. I am a food nut. Many fine establishments do not measure up to my standards. This one is excellent. Good atmosphere too. I cant wait to go back.

This was a repeat visit, and will be our last. Restaurant was cold, asked waiter about it, he said he liked it cold. Waited 10 minutes in a 1/2 full restaurant for someone to take our drink order. Had to ask twice for bread, asked for fresh grated cheese and was given sugar in a shaker meant for commercial cheese. The owner was seated at the bar all night, never bothered to come to the table to apologize for the poor service or the ruined pasta from the sugar. Worst service Ive experienced at a restaurant in Greenville in 10 years, were never going back.

Apparently reservations are required which is not the huge issue. I looked up this restaurant before trying to try it out and no where did I find that reservations were required online or on any of the signage outside the restaurant. The place opens at 5 we got there at 520pm and were told it was booked and there was absolutely no body in there and they refused to accommodate.. May give it another shot with a reservation to see if the food and service are good.

Awful! Waited 5 mins to be seated when there were plenty of tables. Waited another 15 mins before took drink orders. Then another 10 mins for 2 glasses of spoiled tea as to which the waiter argued and said it wasnt bad cause it was just brewd. Was passed by multiple times so the 2 waitor/waitress could tend to larger parties.such a shame because food is the best but I will not be back.

Delicious but expensive for us, around $50 for two entrees. It was a Valentines dinner though. I had the parmesan-almond crusted basa and loved it. The pasta on the side was just extra filler, I think. Nothing wrong with it, but I did not need it and ended up not eating any of it.

Bocca is top notch. Best italian in greenville short of fine dining. Forgot olive garden, come here for real italian food in an old pizza hut. Would be 4 stars but servive is spotty at best. Has been for years. I have never had the pizza but looks good. Pasta dishes are solid.
