Wow! I wish I found this place years ago! I am Native New Yorker and love to cook and love to eat! Since moving to Florida restaurants that have great food can be few and far between especially when it comes to Italian Food. I have been trying to find a good Alla Vodka sauce with no luck till now. I mopped up all the sauce with bread it was that good. It had great big chunks of Pancetta it tasted the way it was supposed to. The Tortellini with braised beef was fantastic and so was the parmagiana. Fresh bread baked with onion on the top crust and wonderful salads that make the mouth water. Great, knowledgeable, and friendly staff to go with the great ambience of downtown Sarasota. They even have a large outside dinning area for those sunny days!

We went with 2 other couples, the service was excellent, her name was Julie, my friend ordered baked clams and they came out so spicy that her could not eat them, when the main courses came, 2 of us had Chicken Marcela, both dishes came out with very little sauce and was very bland, 1 person ordered Linguini with clams in white sauce, a Rotten, not dead, but rotted clam came and was in the dish. They replaced it. Then after all of this the manager came to the table after we paid the check, did NOT apologize for all the screw ups and asked us if we could move to the bar because he had another reservation for this table. They have seen us for the last time!

Great food. Poor service. Seems to be a recurring theme in restaurants. Went w/ a large group of coworkers. Waiter told us the machine was down..and it would have to one check. In other words, he didnt want to deal with seperate checks. Then, all of the sudden, they were working again. He litterly put all of checks in the center of the table and asked us to seperate them. The one coworker who volunteered to pay and then be reimbursed.. had a question about her bill. He gave her a $5 bill and said " I cant deal with this anymore". Worse experience I have ever had at a restaurant in my life. This was awful and made everyone in our group uncomfortable.

I went with a group of 6. We go to eat here at least 1X a week and usually 2Xs. When my friend went to the restroom there were No paper towels so he told one of the servers. Right before we left he went into the bathroom again and still no paper towels. This time he told the Manager, who told him, "I dont like your attitude." Really? It was crazy. Do the servers, bartenders, and staff wash their hands. We will not be going back. I gave it one star because I had to, to be able to post this. Im hoping to stop in this weekend and speak to the owner. This is not something that I would think is acceptable to this family of restaurant owners.

I ate here on Saturday with my fiancé before attending the orchestra concert at Van Wezel; what a pleasant surprise! The mixture of old world details and industrial lighting in the restaurants design added to the comfortable ambiance, which could be enjoyed at any taste level. The service staff was excellent, making sure we were taken care of and satisfied at all times. This is a definite must eat at restaurant whenever we are in the Sarasota area again!

This used to be a good place to eat with a great atmosphere, but recent changes in decor and the menu are definitely not an improvement. We were disappointed in our food, and the service left a lot to be desired. Paper menus? Please. For that I can go to Dennys. These folks need to get back to their roots, the neighborhood feel, the comfort food, and all the things that made them successful in the first place. Sorry, guys, youve lost it.

This week I dined at the bar. The two tables near me both had dogs inside with them. I love dogs ... but at a fine restaurant {supposedy} I do not approve. The wine was expensive for La Creme $10 a glass, for a bottle that costs $13. The pasta was boring so I asked for fresh minced garlic on the side which looked like it came from store bought garlic in oil . The staff is friendly if you are a regular .....

Great Italian restaurant with wonderful variety. Come try their coffee and donuts for dessert. Creamy coffee gelato with warm & fresh donuts. We had angel hair with mussels in garlic & white wine and tortellini with vegetables. Next time I want to try their butternut squash ravioletti and maple leafs farm duck if they are still on the menu. Prices are great and staff is accommodating. Great Italian restaurant!

Just to let you know Lee P. there are free parking spaces right across the street. People complained before there was no parking, now they complain because there is lots of parking but they have to pay a whole $1 an hour. This restaurant has very good food, great service, and a very cool atmoshphere. My family loves this place because they treat us like we are part of their family every time we go in.

I have been eating here since I was a baby and I pray to be eating here until I die! They have some of the most delicious and creative Italian food + all of the classic favorites! The atmosphere is relaxed and they are usually able to accommodate large groups. When the weather is nice they also have a large outside dining area. A wonderful place to eat in a beautiful neighborhood!

The staff and environmental is nice but last two times I ate here my chicken parm was completely uncooked and I got sick after a few bites and last time my piece of fish was so small, it was 4 bites and gone. Others who ordered same thing as me remarked how noticeably smaller my piece was. Fish was cooked well but was known as the minnow by co workers.

Went to Caragiulos many times over the years. When I worked downtown, used to go there with my business associates all the time. I introduced my bride-to-be to the restaurant 19 years ago. We love the place and have never been disappointed. The food is always fresh and delicious! My wife and I Highly Recommend this establishment!

Excellent food!! Sat at the bar and ordered the meatball appetizer - homemade and very good sauce. Some of the best meatballs at a restaurant I have had. Ordered margherita pizza and barese pizza- both were excellent. Service was good, nice atmosphere. Will definitely return!

What a disappointment! Terrible commercial tasteless food, good wine, good service, stale cannolis and dumpster diving bread. Would never go back eccept for happy hour and the salad and wine. Dinner is simply a place to be seen, not for good food!

Mark was our server and one of the most polite and efficient servers we have had. Not to mention that the lasagna was out of this world! It was served with a "fresh" house salad (not the bagged lettuce) that was also very tasty. Thank you!!!!
