I went for a nice corporate dinner; with my co-workers and myself include to this Italian restaurant. We started the night with a few appetizers with the taste was not that good. Bruschetta: a grilled baguette with sweet tomatoes, some garlic, oregano and evoo. I will say that this was the best appetizer on the table; the taste was just executed perfectly. Calamari: a flash and fried with some spicy marinara and caper aioli sauce, as a seafood lover I will say, I was a bit disappoint of the taste, I had better fried calamari in other restaurant this one was no that good. Asparagi: grilled asparagus a no a fan so cannot say too much about it. For my main course I had a dilemma between the Filetto and the Mare, I ask the server for recommendation and he right away point me on to the Mare, he told that I was not going to regret choosing this disk. So I order it. Mare is a mix of seafood with contents lobster, scallops, calamari, mussels, clams, shrimp and peperoncino with is over on linguini. I will say that this plate save this review and like the server told me did not regret ordering this plate. Everything was cook perfectly and there was plenty of seafood very fresh and with a great taste, the tomato sauce was light, tangy and perfect. Overall this was great disk. The service was very good. The food did not take that long to show up. It wasnt a horrible experience, but it was not perfection. But like I say the Mare saved the day.

I came to this establishment for Restaurant Week 2017 and I can honestly say, this was the WORST restaurant experience Ive ever had in my 28 years of life. This was our first time at this particular restaurant, so of course we had questions about the menu. Our server quickly got irritated with our questions and requested we "give her a moment" so she could check on her other tables. She left for about 20 mins. Came back and asked if we were ready to order. She was very unfriendly and inattentive. She did not even give any suggestions on the menu. So we order our appetizers any way and about 30 mins later they came out. One of my guest did not like hers so she requested to change hers to just the salad. (If our server had shown some patience and effectively answered my friends questions prior to ordering then this could have been avoided) Back to the appetizer, when my friend requested to change hers, our server replied with "Ohhh my God!" as she rolled her eyes and neck. At this point we requested to speak to the manager. The manager comes out and his exact words were "Well she asked you what you wanted. Thats what we do here". No apology for his servers rude behavior or anything. We quickly and quietly exited the restaurant. Again... this was the worst experience of my life. I wish I wouldve gotten both of their names. Hopefully this review reaches the right people.

my wife and i went for our anniversary. the food was fabulous. i ordered the halibut and my wife got the 9oz beef tenderloin. i have eaten at capital grill, mortons, ruth chris... this cut of meat was just as good, if not better. plus it came w/roasted potatoes and asparagus for only $28. at other places its $35 a la carte. i am for sure coming back to get the beef. it melted in my mouth. i am just glad my wife let me eat the other half. :) also, i highly recommend the chocolate mouse cake: light, fluffy, dark, rich... man that was good. the only reason i didnt give them 5 stars was my server. he was good, but not fabulous. he had an eye ring and seemed to lack a little etiquette. i dropped $180 on my meal, i expected very professional servers. again mine was fine, just not 5 stars. the best service i consistently get is at capital grill. but for the price and food selection, i am sticking w/luce. just improve on the servers. chao.

The food was very good. Unfortunately the service was a bit off. The server never told us the specials, but we heard him telling other tables after we ordered. It also took quite a while to get our drinks. The calimari portion seemed small and was not impressive (seemed defrosted and fancied up). I ordered the Mare which is a seafood dish and it was delicious. My wife order the Gnocchi and she enjoyed as well. We also ordered a salad that was delicious. I think it was asparagus and prosciutto. Again the food was great, but the service was just off.

Did not honor my reservation. After waiting for 45 minutes past my reservation, I asked about the delay, and they told me that if I couldnt wait, and agree with the way they did business, then I was free to leave and eat elsewhere. The manager was rude and loudly insulted me and my wife by saying that we didnt obviously go out enough if we didnt expect to wait an hour for our reservation. In front of the whole restaurant! That is no way to treat a paying customer who had a reservation for!

Everything from the food to the service was phenominal. The manager Manuel went above and beyond to make sure our dining experience was more than perfect. After dinner the owner invited us to have a drink with him and his staff. We ended up staying until 3 am laughing and creating a ton of memories. Honestly the best dining experience Ive had in all of Charlotte!

This is the best italian restaurant I have been in the entire USA. The owner is truly italian, so the dishes are really authentic. One big proof of that is the lasagna: it has no ricotta cheese, the food is not overloaded with garlic. Thats real italian, not fake italian. The coffee is also real, so you are boarded to a trip of Italy without leaving Charlotte.

Amazing food, and great service! We went to Luce for the first time Friday night, because of restaurant week and we were really pleased. The bartender was great, our waitress was fabulous and the manger was very friendly. We felt very welcome and the food was delicious! Well be back for sure, it is the best Italian restaurant weve found in Charlotte.

Without question the best Italian Ive been to in the States. The three of us shared several appetizers and mains, and everything we had was amazing. Very authentic high end Italian food, with great service and a good wine list (of which our servers were very knowledgeable too). Cannot recommend this place enough!

Ive never really been a big fan of Italian food, but I must say that Luce is such an exception. I went for dinner during the uptown restaurant week. The ingredients used tasted very fresh. The calamari was excellent and quite exceptional. This is probably the best Italian restaurant Ive been to.

Authentic Italian flavor in a formal environment. The entry to luce is a little off the beaten path, if youre not coming in from Tryon. Look for a small alleyway with the luce sign at the end of it. Wide pasta selection, gnocchi has good flavor and consistency without being too dense.
