Rohrbachs beer is great and can compete against any local / craft brewery both in and outside of Rochester. I recently relocated back to Rochester after spending the last 13 years in Boston and I would pick Rohrbachs beer over two very good local breweries -- John Harvards and Boston Beer Works. The food, however, could use some improvements. But, as long as you stick to the "staples" then you should be fine; with the one exception being the Friday Fish Fry. It is simply the best Fish Fry out there ! (including anything I ever had in Boston). Overall, Rohrbachs makes excellent beer and has a decent menu with some stars on it; worth the drive to the west side !

Unique and hard to replace. This is 5 stars for their outstanding service, their one of a kind beer selection and amazing food. From hard ciders, to double bach porterss, their selection of food and drinks are never disappointing. Their fish fry and steak is not comparable. Appetizers, all the way to desert you will amaze your taste buds every bite. They have outdoor seating and a spacious inside that houses as many people as you can invite. Every employee their is pleasant, and will recognize you on your second visit. Ask for the german pretzel, or even just a side of their beer battered fries if you only want a drink and something to snack on. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

This place is terrible. Ive given it four tries now, and Im done. The service is slow. The servers are inattentive. The food is bland and greasy. I had the most disgusting onion rings Ive ever had in my life here. They were like giant oily kitchen sponges. The beef on wick is more like gristle on wick. The prices are obnoxious. $8.25 for a glass of wine? You must be smoking dust. I really tried to like this place, but i give up. The only thing decent here is the Scotch ale, but not at $4.25 a pint. I cannot understand the love people have for this overrated and overpriced dump.

Had the German Plate, with pork belly, knockwurst, and pork schnitzel. The schnitzel was fried crisp with just the right amount of gravy and sauteed mushrooms; the knockwurst was tender and savory, but the star was the pork belly: flavorful, moist and tender, like a pork sparerib roasted until its fall-off-the-bone tender. The German potato salad was good, the sauerkraut was better. For dessert, a delicious apple strudel with a light caramel sauce, browned, crisp but flaky, and with just a small amount of apple to give it a good flavor profile.

People talk about the beer, which is good, but the food is what makes this place stand out. The "sammies" in particular are a real treat. Ive eaten here five times in the past three weeks and you can tell the sandwiches are made from excellent shaved meat on fresh bread and toasted just enough to get the cheese melted without making the bread crunchy. If youre lucky, they will have the house root beer on tap which I feel is a much better treat than the house beers that are available.

German bar food classics mixed with some more American faire, we found the burger to be made with a far too large sandwich roll and a mexican inspired chicken salad to be somewhat lacking in general flavor. Excellent beer menu as should be expected and I was given a few different beers to try before selecting one for the meal. The overall result being a bit disappointing for an independent brewing company, but maybe Im just not that much of a beer person.

I was first introduced to rohrbachs beer via the rochester redwings. For the past 5 years, i have thoroughly enjoyed my bluebeary and redwing ale. I have made it a priority to travel 30 miles to visit the restaurant and even take family and friends with me. In fact, i will be taking friends who live in seneca falls and geneva to experience my favorite restaurant. I love the redwings and love rohrbachs beer!!!!

Great beer and awesome German food. This place has some amazing brews and the food match it. The taps rotate but my current favorite is the Space Kitty. Its a spicy Ale that I cant put my finger on it but it is fantastic. Ive ate dinner here a couple times and I can say the food is just as good as the beer. I only make it up to up state NY every couple years but I cant wait to come back again.

Great food and great beer. I had the Reuben which had corned beef stacked high. It was very tasty and the beer battered fries were a great complement. I loved their calamari appetizer. It was like no other I ever tasted. To drink I had their beer sampler, in which you get your choice of 4 beers to try. Serving sizes are generous and the prices are reasonable.

I moved away from Churchville awhile ago, and its a must stop at to reconnect with friends. Those that appreciate good ale/lager/porter should try the place. The food is quality, little high priced and offers American versions of German cuisine. Some must tries are Vanilla Porter and Scotch Ale, Highland is a great beer for none adventureous diners.

Went there with the wife after seeing the "authentic" menu online. Beer was good, maybe even worth coming back for. The food was borderline terrible. I had the pierogi dish with sausage. The meat was put under a broiler and overcooked. The pierogi were either treated the same way, or deep fried. Tough as leather and tasteless. Not worth the trip!

Very disappointed. Sent back chicken dish after 2 bites for tasting fishy and rubbery. Cook agreed but appetite was ruined. Was SHOCKED when I was charged for salad that came with dish. I have had good experiences until this point. I hope they spend the $2.50 wisely. I will not be returning b/c of the slap in the face. Very disappointed.

Absolutely LOVE everything I order from here - on the beer and food menus! They have the BEST fish fry on Fridays, also enjoy the German sausage, reuben, pierogies, and my husbands fav - buffalo chicken mac-n-cheese. This is our go-to place for dinner when we dont feel like cooking, or want some awesome beer.

A local craft brewing joint, it also serves lunch and dinner with a little bit of a German flair. Food is always good. Most people enjoy the different flavors of beer that they make. From mechanics to the scientists at Elmgrove Park, its a good fit for everyone. Plenty of easy parking on a main road.

Nice, clean, contemporary but homey - and a good selection of beer - though I could wish for a greater variety of IPAs & Lagers. The staff was most excellent - chatted with us while we sampled several beers. Pleasant and helpful - made the visit very enjoyable.

Great selection of their draft beers, the Highland was smooth. The fish fry is the best in rochester hands down. Quick and friendly service. Place is very busy on the weekends so get there early. We went around 5 on friday and still waited 15 minutes to be sat.

Absolutely my favorite restaurant, hands down, without a doubt. The food is all incredible, the beer is awesome and there are many different kinds. Ive always had a good experience with the wait staff as well. I cannot recommend Rohrbachs highly enough!

Rohrbachs makes some of the best beer on the planet. Their Vanilla Porter is to die for and their Scotch Ale goes down so easy, but will really screw you up. The food here is typical American-German fare and is well paired with their beer selection.
