Loud. Besides that? Meh. We gave up trying to get reservations since no one was answering the phone, so we just went. No go; madhouse and frantic. When asked about the phone, host said it was a "Verizon issue". Okay. We booked for the following night and ate somewhere else. Next evening, we were seated on time in a booth. Décor is simple, and there is more seating than the previous restaurant(s). Still really loud. At first glance, the menu looks exciting, but to me its just over complicated. Ordered the roasted oysters and calamari to start. Calamari was really good, but we didnt care for the oysters; very bland. Partner ordered evenings special Bison burger, but ate half. Burger was good, but over complicated with too many toppings making it overly rich and confusing. I had the Vietnamese pulled pork. Flavors were good, but lack of aioli made it really dry. Ate half. No doggie bags for us. Rolls were fresh and fries were very good; come seasoned on the side in their own wire basket. I thought the prices were okay. If we were in any kind of hurry, service would have been an issue. It definitely was not efficient, but server was pleasant and you could tell he felt bad when we reminded him he forgot our second drinks. He did come to tell us twice that it wouldnt be long for our meals. That was appreciated. I want this place to do well and am hoping that because its new, there are a few tweaks that can be made. Right now, we wont be rushing to go back as it didnt leave an impression on us.

Experience is night and day to the Williamsville location. Weve always had an excellent experience at the other locations, but last night at 8pm was worst. First, our waitress took our drink orders and brought my wife a white wine rather that the Shiraz she ordered. She clearly didnt know the menus because when we requested add on like extra celery with our wings, she said the wings didnt come with celery (menu clearly stated that extra celery was $.75). She brought our appetizers out and after we had finished she asked if we were ready for the check; we had to remind her that we had not received our entrees yet. She finally brought them out, but one member of our party ordered chicken fingers with extra sauces and she said the would be out shortly. After 10 minutes without checking in, she finally brought those out and said it was a kitchen error (would have been better to tell the group along the way that they were just making them so others would eat and not wait). My recommendation is try the Williamsville location, even though we live in the south towns, the experience and staff makeup worth the trip.

Only open 2 weeks so Im sure a few tweaks will ensue. As with the other locations, there is a vast offering of menu items. The service was prompt and efficient. However, the food was mediocre. In some instances "over sauced" or over garnished to the point that the main ingredient of the dish could not be fully appreciated. Example, Calamari. Also when preparing chicken dishes it is best to offer freshly prepared chicken versus pregrilled. There where two dishes where pregrilled chicken was used, Chicken and Waffles, and Chicken in Phyllo - the result a very dry, overcooked experience. The art of cooking is to season and accent food not overpower. In many instances the use of sauces and garnishments is grossly exaggerated. I have eaten at all the Griffon Gastropub locations and thoroughly enjoy the dining experience. I just think East Aurora needs to tweak the food. It would be nice to have some lighter offerings as much on the menu is dense, fried, or dowsed in sauces. Also consider adding the Short Rib dish from the Amherst NY location. All in all a B- experience. Service saved the day.

Ive been to Griffon on Transit many times and loved it, what a great addition to East Aurora. HOWEVER, when heading out to this location we anticipated a wait. Upon arrival we were told 60-90 minutes for a table (for 4) which was okay with us. After 120 minutes we asked how things were looking to determine if our next beer would come from the over crowded bar or our server when we got a table. We found out they havent seated anyone from "the list" and that they needed to seat all reservations first. We were told roughly 45-60 min before they would get to the list and we were number 36 on the list. At this point, we left!! The verdict, Im sure the food is as outstanding as the other location, the beer list is just as great, but their customer service and management of this place has some work to do. If you dont have space or are 100% full with reservations, just tell people. If youre hoping to get dinner here, make a reservation or plan on being there 4 hours to wait for a table.

Food was good thats about it. When the resturaunt opened we heard the owner punched an IT guy for taking too long to fix a pc. We were dragged here by our friends despite hearing about this altercation . Usually when you spend $100+ for two people you have food leftover for another meal. Portion size was small. Several of the people we went with got either the wrong food or meat cooked incorrectly. Dont even bother ordering mixed drinks I had two and the glasses were so small and filled with so much ice there was barely any actual drink in them. There were lines for the bathrooms (which only have one toilet) and the mens room didnt lock so a buddy of mine walked in on someone pooping. With all the excellent resturaunt choices in east aurora we will not ever be returning to this one.

Ive been to the Griffon on transit and was excited to take my friend to the location near where he lives. We where greatly disappointed by our experience at the east aurora location. Our food was served too quickly which resulted in it being served raw, over powered by seasoning, and we didnt have any silver ware or napkins to start. Probably just a bad night at Griffon but Im going to wait a while before coming back to that location. The manager and server apologised deeply for the experience however. I hope we werent the only ones with that experience because I love Griffon and was just deeply disappointed.

So loud! Could not hear my dinner companions, and we needed to talk to amuse ourselves while our burgers took at least an hour to come out - and not even at the same time. Our side dishes of risotto were served at least 10 minutes after our meals and definitely not worth the wait. The best thing we ordered was the kid meal of mac-n-cheese. The rest of our food needed seasoning - lots of seasoning. The beer selection and pricing are decent, which is why this place gets 3-stars instead of 2. My suggestion: Have a tasty beer and split the mac-n-cheese (way too heavy to eat a full portion).

The food was fantastic. The complimentary water served at the table was flavored which was great. The waitress/service was very good. Only thing holding back on 5 star review was that the noise inside the place was too loud due to the open ceiling. The sound just bounces from floor to ceiling. If they used some decorative material like cloth draped strategically on the ceiling, it would drastically cut the noise. This would make the dining experience perfect.
