I really thought I was going to like this place. We sat at the bar had a couple of good beers recommended by the attentive bartender. It was a Friday, so we ordered 18 Buck-A-Shuck oysters. They were tasty, but kind of small overall. The potato leek soup was exceptional in flavor, but skimpy on the portion size, but based on what we had been served so far, we were looking forward to the fish tacos and prime rib we ordered. The entrees arrived and there was no questioning the portion size; both the tacos and beef appeared ample and looked appetizing. The problem was they were each basically inedible. The Mahi Mahi in the tacos was like jerky-no kidding- I have no clue how fish can become that tough. The rest of the taco ingredients were quite tasty. The cut of prime rib followed suit; it looked great on the plate but as soon as I started to cut it I knew there was an issue. Rubbery is how I would describe it. Sometimes you may be able to find a couple of good bites from a poor cut beef, but I could not salvage one reasonably tender bite from this one. It was tough to cut and harder to chew. I did not complain or ask for any discount other than to tell the bartender/server that the prime rib was very chewy when he asked how it was. He said he was sorry to hear that. Oddly, I did like the place, but man, did I ever miss on the food. I mean it cant be like that all the time, can it?

Why had I not heard of this place before? This Irish restaurant and pub was hopping on a Thursday night. It is important to note that the bar/pub part is separate from the dining area, so the live music doesnt interfere with dining room conversation. We were greeted by a fine host who took our name and informed us that our wait would be approximately 15 minutes. He said we could wait in the bar so we did. We were entertained by live music while waiting and then seated in the dining room when our table was ready. We experienced a superbly friendly and professional staff and two great Irish dishes - Guinness Stew and Bangers and Mash. Additionally, since it was our first time dining there we received a complimentary bread pudding, which was phenomenal by the way. We definitely look forward to going back there. Lastly, if you dont prefer Irish brews, you will be happy to note they have IPAs, American ales and local craft brews - all on draft.

The table had dirty bread plates mixed in with the clean ones. The server took them away immediately upon us pointing it out. I was willing to overlook it. Next, my daughters water glass was dirty. They didnt keep in top of replenishing the vegetables at the bloody Mary bar. My sister found hair in her food. The manager gave us a $20 gift card to apologize. We were pleased that they did this for us and took responsibility for their short comings. We came back again today, Memorial Day Sunday. I believe in 2nd chances but not coming back for a 3rd. The waiter was not attentive. He mainly hung out at the bar talking to the other servers. I had to call him over to take our order after 15 minutes. He didnt check up on us. My sister asked him twice for water. He was too busy chatting with his friends. My sister found a label/food ingredient in her food. That was the last straw...

We held a wedding rehearsal dinner here and all I can say is "Wonderful". Justin was spot on with his replies via email when making the arrangements and answered all my questions promptly. He took the time to meet with me before the event to go over the menu and how the room was going to be set up which was great. The evening of the dinner was fabulous, they had the tables set up wonderfully with even center pieces added. The timing from the appetizers down too when the food was brought out was great and the staff made sure to ask if I wanted things to move quicker or slower when bringing them out. The staff during the dinner was excellent. They were on top of keeping the drinks and anything asked of them. Both Abby and Chelsea where very polite and professional. I would highly recommend using Grafton Street Pub for any event like we had.

My fiance and I had scheduled a rehearsal brunch for out wedding at another venue. We found out 12 hours early that our venue had closed down months ago without giving us any notice. We were recommended Grafton by a friend and they not only agreed to accommodate our party of 30 with less than 18 hours notice, they opened the place earlier than their posted operating hours and threw together a voluntary staff and customized their menu to be similar to our initial needs. Not only that, but the place ended up being even BETTER than our original choice. If I lived in this area I would DEFINITELY go here multiple times a week. Super kind wait staff and management, Id give 10 stars if I could.

My wife and I go to Grafton Street regularly. Weve tried just about everything on the menu. Their field greens salad is a staple starter. Weve sat in the dining room with family and friends, and on the patio on nice days, but we typically sit in the bar, just the two of us. Grafton St. is one of our favorite places to go for dinner. We havent had a bad meal and their specials are usually excellent, especially when they cool on the patio barbecue. The service is occasionally slow, but I attribute that to letting us relax without interruption. Highly recommended.

Authentic pub/restaurant in the Atlas Walk section of Virginia Gateway. Atlas Walk has a quiet, cool vibe to begin with and Grafton Street fits right in. Very nice dining area, the pub is very nice as well. Its kind of upscale but not pretentious- very comfortable place. Service and food overall are both consistently good. Food is hearty and presented well. Knowledgeable bar staff. There is really nothing exactly like it in the surrounding area.

I had lunch today with my daughter. It looked nice and the menu sounded wonderful. My daughter ordered the lemon blueberry pancakes. They were ok. It would have been much better if they had added more blueberries. I ordered a cheeseburger. I believe the meat was a frozen patty. The french fries had no taste. They had a weird, mushy texture. Our waiter was nice enough, not very attentive though. The hostess was very cheerful. I would not go back.

I took out some clients there for dinner and the food was excellent as well as the beer selection. We ordered steak and the steak was cooked just right. Typically restaurants over cook medium rare steaks. They also have a large variety of craft beer which made my clients happy. The service was prompt and the manager came to check on us 3 times, very attentive. Myself and my clients has a great time there.

I think I found my new favorite after work stop...but I definitely have to come back and try their Sunday brunch! Build your own burger was exactly what I asked for!
