Normally I dont take the time to write a review for anything, save for the occasional feedback on eBay. I felt compelled to write this after not one, but two disappointing visits to this establishment. Please note that this review is strictly based on food and service. I live locally in the village and visit many of the restaurants in the area several times a month. First off, while seated for dinner, a drink order takes a minimum of 15 minutes to return. Were talking two beers, not elaborate cocktails here. I spent many years working in bars in NYC, and this is just plain unacceptable. I had this problem both times I visited. The venue might have been half full the first time I was there, and had maybe 8 people sitting in the dining area the second time. On both occasions, the bar area had 10 or less patrons. Dinner orders, even when the venue is relatively quiet have taken 40+ minutes to serve. Perhaps not enough staff in the kitchen? I can only speculate. Personally, Ive tried the turkey burger which was bland and forgettable, while the duck was actually quite good (just took forever to serve). On my most recent visit, there was an issue with an item that was ordered as it differed from the menu description. The "crispy celery" as listed in the "Deconstructed Chicken Salad" is actually breaded and fried. Before you roll your eyes, note that it was a food allergy issue. I literally never send anything back at restaurants ever, but this particular situation was out of my control (not my order). Long story short, it had to go back and they were happy to accommodate us. The service that ensued is where things went downhill. Our waitress tells us 5 to 10 minutes max and theyll have the order out. 15 minutes pass and were told "it will be just another 5 minutes" by another staffer (not our waitress). Yet another 15 minutes go by and were told "itll just be another 8 minutes" by our waitress (8 minutes? Now theyre getting surgical with their estimates?). At this point, Im annoyed with the waitress. If we were just told from the start how long it would have been, we would have just cancelled the order and split my (now cold) dinner. We were hoping to run out to West Beach to catch the fireworks show, but its now clear that wasnt going to happen (note we arrived at 8:15 pm and didnt get the remade food order back until 9:40). When I inquired with the waitress about the combined 40 minutes we spent waiting for the redo and asked why we were twice told 5 minutes, followed by 8 minutes when the wait was much longer she tells us, "oh, that was just a figure of speech." I think its safe to say that she could not have cared less. The dismissive tone and general disregard for customer service is unforgivable in an area with so many superior dining options. In fairness to the establishment, the food was actually good when it arrived (the duck & deconstructed chicken)and the manager was extremely pleasant and eager to make any accommodations he could, but at this point the damage was already done. Needless to say, I wont be back, but hopefully this will help serve as a cautionary tale to those who value good service. I gave them two strikes; I wont waste my money a third time.

Ill start off on the only positive of the visit which was my eggs benedict. So delicious! Perfectly cooked! I would also like to mention that we were 2 if about 7 people in the whole place. Anyway, our service was horrible! We started with some kind of cocktail comprised of champagne, grapefruit, rum, tequila and basil. What a gross concoction; you can taste the flat champagne. Our server never checked on whether we enjoyed our drinks or not so we decided to power through and finish them so we can order something else. When our brunch arrived, our server asked if we would like refills and we said "no" and order a draft beer and a bloody mary. About 3/4 of the way through our meal my bloody mary arrived, watered down from the melted ice from it sitting and waiting to be ran out. Our not-so-apologetic server told my boyfriend they were out of his beer, never asking how our food was. Instead of waiting 15 more minutes for another beer, he opted for water. As the busser was passing by I asked him to grab me some salt and pepper for my flavorless bloody mary. Apparently this place doesnt think its food needs salt (which if you had the chance to taste the bland "spicy" chicken and waffles, you would realize it desperately does) because instead of having a shaker readily available, it took the busser about 5 or so minutes to ask the manager to bring me a ramican full of salt and a pepper grinder. After fixing my drink our server and the manager were gone for about 10 or so minutes. We were done and ready for our check. We waited and waited for someone to come ask if we were ready for our check and were left there to wait some more. Finally, the manager came back from the kitchen area. The manager sat a couple who had been waiting at the door for several minutes looked me right in my eyes and didnt say a word to me about our visit or if we needed anything and thats when I noticed an old french fry that was resting under a table across from us. We were the first ones there for brunch and no one sat at that table the whole time we were there. That was the last straw. We finally got our check from our awkward and reserved server, paid and left never to return.

went there last year and the female bartender was more interested in adjusting her boobs every two minutes and dancing attention on the male patrons. overpriced Went back again yesterday really to use the restroom but thought would have a drink and give the place another chance. Well, my friend fell going to the ladies room, the "WATCH YOUR STEP" signs were faded and on the floor, (I took pictures)should be at eye level and add a hand rail. Manager couldnt find an incident report, I asked bartender for ice for my friends head, and she said one minute and proceeded to wait on 2 customers, so I asked again and she again waited on another customer. I said what takes priority here, a head injury or a customers drink!!! A server who had seen my friend fall, helped her up and then later told manager after I asked for the Manager not the server, that she caught her, I said if she caught her why did she hit her head on the wall. Manager was new and clearly had not been trained to handle an incident like this. She took half off the bill but only after I asked her too. All and all, never go back there and do not recommend it to others.

Ive been to Brewology twice now. Once for drinks and once for dinner. Drinks - the bar is very nice! Its a cozy little section and very themed! Theres a big chalk board on the wall that lists all the beers on tap in a periodic table. Most of the glassware comes straight out of chemistry lab. Prices were nothing special but about on target with most other places in the area for craft beer. The selection of beer is pretty good, too. Dinner - great! I had the filet mignon which came with a delicious purple potato side and spinach. The cut was pretty good. Didnt blow me out of the water but definitely well-worth the $28. I would definitely order the steak again. The soft-baked pretzels before the meal and the caramel popcorn after were a nice (free) touch!
