I suspect a few of the reviews here are bogus - 1-star is an absurd rating for such a venue. If there is a downside, its that the prices keep me away most of the time. I once left feeling a bit ripped-off, after paying about $25 for a leg of BBQ chicken and a couple of well-prepared but inexpensive sides - but every other visit has been a merry experience. Great crowd in general. Laid-back, respectful and a peaceful but happy atmosphere. The menu is excellent with locally-sourced organic foods throughout, and I have yet to eat a dish here that left me disappointed (aside from that pricey BBQ chicken). Consistently impressed with the kitchen. The space overall is excellently decorated, and well-suited for the dimly-lit jam sessions that theyve hosted for years. Have dinner and stick around for the live music. I have heard it said and agreed that there is no great music scene on Long Island. The Grey Horse is a precious exception.

Quite simply put, if you enjoy good food and good beer in a warm friendly environment this is the place for you ! You are almost always gauranteed to meet a few characters at the bar in the afternoon and if its bar food you want there are a few snacks that will fit the bill. The mushrooms in creamy truffle sauce are worth stopping in for, as is everything else on the menu.........a super cool chef and a super cool owner make this one of our favorite Long Island taverns to visit .

I go to a restaurant for a great meal. Here the food was adequate, while the service was excellent. Towards the end of the meal the heat was lowered. By the end of the meal we resorted to putting our coats on and declined desert. But the best part is there is a step neither lighted or marked in any way, I tripped on that step and went sprawling across the restaurant floor. I had no alcohol with my meal. Needless to say, we will not be going here again.

I have been to GHT several times and every time I go it is equally as good. The staff is lovely. I love the decor, the eclectic plates and just everything about the cozy feeling you get. The calamari appetizer is incredible and the fried pickles are delish! Dessert is a whole separate story. Yum yum yum!! Hope this place always remains the same! Thank you GHT!!

went to this place yesterday april 9th, nice place but for some reason everything was expensive. the beer is made on long island, 8 dollars for a small glass, the wine is grown on long island, 9 dollars for a small glass. save your money and go some where else and the food prices were way high. I will never go back its not worth the trip.

The food at this place sounds better than it tastes. Everything was bland and ordinary. They had nothing that you couldnt make better yourself. The desserts sounded unbelievable but had no flavor. Their Beignets were the worst I have ever had.
