by far the worst service I have ever had in my life! So unfortunate because the food is good. To start the hostess tonight was a miserable rude old lady who seemed so unhappy to be there it was uncomfortable. then we were sat in the middle if a party of people who knew each other and they were so loud we couldnt hear ourselves. It took 30 mins to get our drinks and after we waited all that time Brittany our waitress came back and told us what we ordered was sold out. great. then we both ordered $40 meals and both came to us wrong..wrong sides no soup..and we ordered grilled cheese for our daughter that was only half a sandwich and cold when it finally arrived 55 min after we ordered. our waitress was waiting on 3 tables. and it wasnt very busy and everyone was annoyed. finally there were children who I believe was maybe the owners kids or grandkids running around screaming and hiding under tables disturbing guests..even behind the bar and hostess station acting like this was play time at Chuck cheese. them acting foolish and ruining our dinner was funny to the wretched hostess and wait staff..so ridiculous. we will never go here again. the cook here needs to go somewhere the staff quality reflects their food. we had to keep flagging down bus girls to help us w drinks and things. the only time our waitress was around was for tip time. when I told her she added a soup we didnt get she with a snotty attitude offered me one of her personal dollars..I said forget it. and just made sure not to tip her. worst service ever. fire the whole staff and start over.

from comfort food to fine dining - the dress code may be casual, but the attention to detail is not. from its tiny downtown roots, the hole in the wall has grown to encompass both diner food, very well prepared, which appeases its regulars and the occasional craving, and creative, sometimes challenging concoctions by its chefs. amazing desserts, including unusual homemade ice cream flavors, and the meal i had last night blew me away - a wonderful chili in a homemade bread bowl, a lot more splendid than it sounds, and a slab bacon with a rosemary & root beer reduction sauce appetizer that had me seriously considering licking my plate. (i used a spoon and bread to clean it instead. id drink that stuff.) a tiny bit pricier than the local diners, but anyone who can taste the difference knows that the prices are incredibly cheap for the value received. and i havent mentioned the pleasant atmosphere, great breakfasts and soups, food & wine or beer pairing dinners, or catering. you owe yourself a visit.

Our family has gone to enjoy a night out to celebrate a birthday at this location. For the second time we have been ask to hurry up and leave because their was another party waiting for our table. We had a party of 9 and spent $200.00 there. We had only been there 90 minutes and had just gotten our desserts. 2 people in our oarty had not finished their desserts when the owner came up and let us know there were people waiting for our table. We travel all over and eat out, as much as 4-5 times a week. Never have I had an owner put greed ahead of customer service. We have decided to not use this establishment again. We enjoy our family time when we can all get together and spend some time talking. We will surely let friends in the community know how we were treated.

Being vegan and going out to eat are usually two things that just dont go together. My family decided to get together to go out to eat tonight at the Hole in the Wall so I called ahead to see if there were any options on the menu I could have... besides a plain salad, which is usually my only option around here. I was transfered right to the chef and he was so nice on the phone. I told him I was up for anything vegan and he put together an absolutely wonderful, delicious meal. The salad was romaine lettuce dressed with a cumin lime vinaigrette, topped with gardenia vegetables. The entree was balsamic and rosemary marinated tofu over braised sweet potatoes and lentils with a chipotle hummus. I will be going back VERY often! Thank you so much!!

Thank You so much to the staff and management at The Hole in the Wall. Mothers Day 2017 was saved when they got us in very last minute for a party of 8 when the restaurant we had reservations at was unknowingly only serving breakfast and not handicapped friendly. The service was excellent and the restaurant is beautiful, clean, and the coffee is so good!! Yes the wait is a bit longer than at other places but the prices were excellent and good was hot and delicious when served!!! Thank you thank. We will be back!

The Ambiance and food is very good. Our service left a little to be desired and it took an hour to receive our food. When we discussed the wait with the manager she said she was sorry but took no responsibility and kept making Excuses. Really took away from the experience. We were there with a reservation and only had 4 adults and two children. We were the ONLY table with children and no attempt to bring their food first or even acknowledge the hour we waited from the time we ordered. This was our third visit.

The Hole in the Wall is the place to eat if youre in the Perry area, like staying at Letchworth State Park as we were. The place is currently being renovated, so the outside is a little rough, but the inside is very classy. The owner is definitely sinking some dough into this place. Went there for dinner 6-9-13 and lunch 6-12-13 (currently they are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays); great menu selection for both meals including desserts at decent prices. The service both times was awesome and very friendly.

We stopped in on a chilly, rainy Saturday after seeing the positive reviews on line. Decided it was a "soup day" and ordered the French Onion and NE Clam Chowder soups. They were excellent! Our server was very pleasant and attentive and the restaurant was tastefully decorated. In our opinion, the positive reviews were accurate and were adding another!

I used to really look forward to going to this place for providing a unique variety of really great tasting food. However, the last 3 times I went things were over or undercooked and nothing was outstanding taste wise. Hopefully this was just a bad spell and things will go back to being great.

we had good food and good service when we ate there on multiple occasions. the food quality is far above your average dinner, and the service is what you would typically expect from a home town restaurant. also my husband enjoys the quality beer they have, like dogfish head and southerntier.

Food was great. But the service was awful. Just awful. We had a waitress that was very one dimensional and extraordinarily slow. We love the food and want to keep coming back, but will not if the service takes over 2 hours to get through a dinner.

We came on a Saturday. It wasnt crowded so the waitress assisted us right away. We ordered and the food came relatively quickly! The food itself was great and the staff were friendly! I would definitely recommend it if youre in the Perry area!
